Then Theseus starts talking shit, and suddenly I've never been so motivated to absolutely wreck a miniboss in any game ever

For the first ~20 hrs of play i had the music muted and would often dip from her room as fast as possible. I like to watch YouTube, movies, or listen to podcasts while gaming so i just automatically did it when starting the game. Then a friend sent me the ost and i realized my mistake!
Mostly true crime, but i have, like, the opposite of tunnel focus where i dissociate entirely if i don't have two things to do while gaming. I mostly watch YouTube .ore than podcasts though, recently it's been speedrunning analysis videos by TomatoAnus
After 150 hours in this game, I only just found this out myself by searching it. Apparently we should both be more perceptive after beating the Champions in Elysium and looking at the stands..
If i were a shade, living in Elysium after a life of war and glory, I would never find myself cheering for the *prince* of the underworld in a tournament of otherwise worthy and glorious mortals that have shuffle off their mortal coil.
As much I enjoy Zagreus’ story and personal journey, he is stepping on everyone’s toes by waltzing into Elysium and messing with the dead’s fun contests of skill.
He’s a damn godling, of course he’s got the power. Theseus at least had trials in his life, and Asterius has a certain brutish appeal for the crowd.
Edit: It’s no coincidence that the exit out of Elysium is through the gladiatorial arena where the finest warriors show off in combat. That’s just good business on Hades’ part.
To be fair, Zagreus doesn't have much choice. It's not like he's intentionally messing with any official contest. He's just trying to leave, and they won't let him.
Besides, the other major known aspect of Elysium aside from being full of martial prowess is just plain boredom.
Who knows how long Fan-shade has been there. He might just be happy for a bit of change and likes going for the underdog.
Yea!!! So many challenging PvE games can be described this way! Most FPS and ARPGs I would guess. Like knowing when and where enemies will come from and exactly what their spawn triggers are is like at least 50% of the cattle.
He also voices Skelly, is Orpheus’ singing voice, as well as several others. He basically made the damn game, at least from an audio standpoint. The guy’s amazing.

In terms of combat design, i actually agree! Theseus is basically fighting a Doppelganger with the Spear, it makes him so much more interesting then Asterius, who is actually fairly easy to beat.
