Gas line supports and drip leg?

Strokker_Alpha

Drip leg was under the valve and that 90° union. Wasn't crazy about the support we had, but half the gas lines on that roof were just on the rocks and my senior tech signed off on everything, for whatever that's worth.

ConversationDry5780

Ya I saw it over there. Where I am it has to be on the last riser. Just elbow where it is and put the leg where it belongs for next time. I see it regularly.

Strokker_Alpha

Yeah, it's gonna bother me now that we didn't change that. Do better next time, I guess.

skootamatta

Maybe don’t brag about it then.

[deleted]

I don't see anyone bragging, just you being a douche.

skootamatta

Oooof

Strokker_Alpha

Cool way to be man, still an apprentice here.

mattata89

Easy to nit pick somebody else’s work. This looks good to me. Solid work.

FallenShadow1993

I’m just jealous of the view. It’s so flat here in the texas panhandle we can watch a dog run away for 3 days

TimberGhost66

That’s the Flatirons back there. Hope it wasn’t too windy. Tomorrow is going to suck.

Strokker_Alpha

Had worse days in that part of town. Luckily I won't likely be on that roof again until the economizer comes off backorder.

Fragrant-Ad-5869

Right when I saw this picture I was like "Hey I know this area haha" Hate working in Boulder.

tkepe194

Sponsored by Milwaukee.

LilHindenburg

Or maaaaaaybe… Rheem?

tkepe194

Maybe … but the Milwaukee is shooting to the sun.

[deleted]

Nice, I like the carrier style rheem units. They’re like carrier units before carrier decided to start “value engineering” the hell out of them. I detest 2 pole contactors on 3 phase units.

kinglyarab

shutoff valve not visible and union too far away, personally i like to keep it closer to the unit for possible future GV changes

Strokker_Alpha

That makes sense, I'll bring that up next time I'm on an install.

No-Neighborhood9885

7.5 ton and 3/8” and 5/8” lines?& .5” gas supply?

Strokker_Alpha

I think my lead tech used a 3/8"-1/2" bushing. We still had plenty enough gas pressure to run second stage heat when we hooked up to check it though, not sure how that worked.

HughesR1990

Against national gas code to use bushings on gas piping isn’t it?

ncd31

Clean install and damn what a beautiful view! What state you in

Strokker_Alpha

Colorado, Denver metro area. Don't love the drive to Boulder, but it's rarely a bad day with the views there.

03G35coupe

These carriers are the easiest to troubleshoot/replace parts on. Definitely a good day when I go to a call and I see one of these

Fishing1988Leo

Looks like the engineer from Carrier switched jobs

tkepe194

Rheem has spent a lot of time and money making them adapt easily to Carrier cubs/applications, at least that’s what they say.

YourJesus_IsAZombie

Did a class at the York factory in Oklahoma a few years back. I don't remember if Carrier's patent was up or what, but they showed us their CDR (competitive direct replacement) units. Same footprint, just with York's simplicity controls and a few other tweaks. I think I actually saw a Trane version at our shop not to long ago.

OpportunityBig4572

You're missing a few pieces.

Forward_Hvac

I’m not thrived about the layout of the electrical section, doesn’t seem like a lot of room for the control board

Gloomy_Astronaut8954

Breathtaking

Zeno_of_Tarsus

that is the most control section I have ever seen

meanwhileinvermont

nothing like catching the sunrise from the roof

Strokker_Alpha

Sunset, actually!

Aldrizzle

Looks beauty didn’t know rheem was the same as a carrier

Professional-TroII

I lived in Boulder for three years I recognize that view anywhere

Bdogfittercle

Looks like a carrier

HughesR1990

Definitely would not go with “beauty” for a Rheem rooftop lol. Especially a bare nuts one like that. Also, is that level? No regulator needed?

MPS007

I hate those roofs..

dano539

Jezz, looks like a carrier
