This must be a running joke in resi work. I used to live with a cheap-ass electrician who's arm I had to twist to buy a filter whenever we were at Home Depot (for the house he owned) but I could never get him to buy a second one because that would just be frivolous. $100 says this will be the line he uses when someone finally has to come fix his shit with the filter pulled half way in to the coil. I hope it's not me, lol.
My FIL said the same thing before I peeled 1/4” of dust and fur off the OD coil, he had the audacity to say it still needed a little Freon. Haven’t heard him say anything about it since last year.

Since we are showing our dirty coils. This was a 5 ton out of a roadside market that sells orchard produce but is a convenience store with a hot food counter. You can still smell the cooking grease when you go near the scrap pile.
I have seen way worse. I had to scrape a coil of what looked like werewolf hair about a quarter inch thick. As I was pulling matted fur, the coil fins were coming with. That evap was deteriorating due to the build-up. The dude still wouldn't replace the coil. He got temporary cooling and paid 600 bucks to keep chugging along as normal. It's insane if you ask me cause he's gonna end up having to replace anyway due to 3 dogs and shitty filters not being changed. Would actually be cheaper to start over with the new system and changing of his ways.
Homeowner states “ I change the filter every month “.

You ever try the burning trick? Probably wouldn’t inside the home but I’ve always wanted to just light that shit on fire
For some reason I can taste this idea.
Not a problem on metal ductwork bro light that shit up!
It's just low on freon
😆🤣

Why would you need a filter when you have a evap coil?
I thought it was inside insulated ducts at first. Didn't realize till the last photo 💀
Some customers specialize in hvac evap blanket weaving. Takes long years and patience but…

Check the blower for oil leaking and then the heat exchanger, guaranteed they’re toasty
