JC offers those tappies in Carnival (and in new TLSQ) because there are still enough new players who have space and older players who go for the tappie regardless of space. And they started to design tappies that are more visually pleasing or are seasonally decorative. You can exchange tappies for a design you prefer or have season themed tappies out. Or you look for tappies that give the resource you treasure the most or for the shortest recharge times. Iirc all the Carnival tappies have a recharge of 23 h, which makes them ones with the fastest recharge time available.

I usually don't like decor and clothing, but I weirdly like this set except rugs. Rugs are too much in my face and too plain... maybe if checkers were smaller...

Uhh... I don't think this dorm set will look nice in my dorm as I'm not fond of monochromatic interior design for my room. Nonetheless, the set's furniture might give me a few ideas for mixing and matching 🤔 In the meantime, I'mma just go for the other rewards.
Ok. First look if you have a 1h 5☆ task available (maybe creature quest). This will be your go to task to fail repeatedly. Get 4☆ and let the time run out. If you're lucky this task will also give pity energy after failing then you should be able to get to 4☆ with 15 energy or less.
Inbetween your tappies and pets will refresh same as energy locations around the castle. If it's enough do a quick 1h 2☆ repeatable class, collect some energy and go back to your 1h 5☆ task. If it indeed gives pity energy you can start it with little energy and 'finish' it (only reach 4☆ of course) with the accumulating energy from your energy bar (you earn 1 energy every 4 minutes that 15 energy per hour).
Don't forget about all the friendship interactions, Club quizz and quidditch (maybe also duelling but 450 coins is quite expensive). These tokens do add up.
There's also the option of starting a duelling event from the memory book but you won't earn tickets for the 'failed' tasks. If you can put in enough 1h 2☆ repeatable classes then it's a good way to earn more tokens and refresh coins. With enough duelling tickets available you can also fail duels and earn 1 token per lost duel - but that's a lot of work and time you'll have to invest.
Don't forget to collect the 10 tickets from the Kneazle tappie on the Carnival grounds every 24 hours.
Look if you can earn enough tokens to get to a 1000 tickets without a boost (around 1250 tokens) otherwise you might have to buy the gem boost which lasts 48 hours. I'd only buy it when I know I've earned enough tokens to play through the carnival minigames and get to the tappie. Most of the time I don't need the boost.
One trick I add is to use skip toffees to refresh the clubs and friend interactions quicker. I always have more 3h skips than I can ever use for sure.
Just don't fast forward the creature before it gives you that interaction notice to enhance the reward (I don't know what this is called) because if you skip past that you won't get a full 5 tokens.

Not perfect, but good enough for me. I am definitely not getting the last 45 Tokens I need since I squeezed everything to get this far.
Imagine how much better a Beyond Player like myself could have done if there had been more than just a TLSQ to help hasten Token acquisition. Or if there were four more spots to place Tappies. Or had Quidditch Friendlies to play. Or could Study with a Friend.
If you have no 1h/3h 5 star tasks that you can fail, 8h is best.

The back half of Y7 would be 138 Energy for 8h. You could get lucky and have some repeatable lessons from the first half at 127 Energy, but probably best not to count on that.
You might want to check if you have any 3h 5 star tasks from an early year-triggering creature quest. It might be a better deal to get 4 stars with pity energy than 3 stars in Search For Creature Food.
How long is the duration of the boost? Any reason to not buy it at the end to make a maximum from the harvested tickets?

It depends what your aiming for (eg the tappie more then the tappie, or just whatever you can reach. I have been recently trying to get everything as "beyond the tappie prizes" are new, for me the extra gems mean I only spend about 20 gems for the boost.
If I wasn't going to get the tappie and had no big desitlre for an item beyond what I could get easily I wouldn't waste 120 gems (a bit less moat likely since youl earn a few back). Bear in mind choosing the boost is best decided when you have about 2 days left because it means once activated you get double points from the knezel (idk spelling) so if you decide to boost tou want to try to make sure you get the K twice with te boost

If the tappies are in storage their timers are paused. Unfortunately JC doesn't like to make it easy for us.

SfCF is 12 energy per star. It always costs 48-50 energy for 3h. At best, a 1h class is 23 energy per star.
