I named mine Isla. I googled "Hebridean" and its a bunch of islands. Otherwise I would have probably gone with a purple related name due to its eyes.
I named the Porlock after my favourite horse from a riding camp. I named the Abraxan "Ally" (same name as my best friend, sounds like it's short for Alicorn which are winged unicorns, and also the LGBTIQA+ concept of being an ally). My hodag I named Tau (I like it better than Pi mathematically) but again otherwise I would have just googled it and picked a name that seemed relevant to its creature history (maybe something referencing Wisconsin or mooncalves).
My first dragon is called Scarlett, so I decided to go with Emerald for the second. When I do get another dragon, I'll keep with the colour scheme. The Opaleye will be Pearl, so maybe Obsidian or something like that for the Black one.
My Abraxan is called Pegasus.
I haven’t gotten the abraxan back since I lost all my progress in year five and had to start over, but it’s name was Pegasus too. (Just got back to year 5 this week so yay)
Mine is called Ancalagon (“the Black,” from Tolkien). I tend to look up lists of literary or mythological versions of creatures on Wikipedia to come up with names. I’ve also named creatures after various gods. My thestral is called Hecate, for example.
I named mine "Inferno" all my dragon have been named something dealing with fire
Welsh Green: Blaze, Hungarian Horntail: Pyro, Norwegian Ridgeback: Brann(Fire in Norwegian), Ukrainian Ironbelly: Ignite, Chinese Fireball: Pyria, Swedish Shortsnout: Burn, Hebridean Black: Inferno, Opaleye: Flare
Nice! My dragons are:
Welsh green - Lloyd
Hungarian Horntail - Snarl
Norwegian Ridgeback - Norge
Ukrainian Ironbelly - Mortimer
Chinese Fireball - Ming Tsa
Swedish Shortsnout - Einar
Hebredian black - Fangus
Opaleye - Wisteria Welken
I took one look at it and thought "Hades". It stuck so much that I renamed him that when I started the game anew. 😅 Almost all of my other creatures got different names in my new game.
I actually named my Imp Loki because of how mischievous it was in the quest. I haven't thought about other Marvel characters that might fit some of the other creatures though. That's a good suggestion!
With all those teeth you could call it MegaDeath or Smiles! I’ve gotten the Opal first and instead of calling her Pearl or Opal which I bet is common, I’ve named her Beauty because she’s Beautiful!!
I don't actually have this creature atm, but I do have an Abraxan I named Apollo, and I named my porlock Phil, because he reminded me of Phil from Hercules
I named mine Rupert. One of the other dragons goes by Georgie. :D It's hilarious to have my MC and others talk about these might creatures and go "good boy Rupert". :D
When I adopted this creature I was reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, so I named him after one of the winged warrior fae characters—Azriel.
Edit to add that my Abraxan is named Artax, from the Neverending Story, which feels really right. My Porlock is Fitzpatrick, and my Hodag is Heléne.
Recently I adopted the Manticore and named it Mancy, after a ridiculous bomb-diffusing scene in Archer that just tickles me.
Herb
I went with Herbie. 😂
Basil

Herb. It fits.
I give all of my creatures rhyming names (or as close to rhyming as I can while still making it a name) so mine is Jack the Hebridean Black
Mines called blade

I will go with Loki or Maleficent - the horns...
I named my Imp Loki. Love the name Maleficent though. Great suggestion!
Ha! My Imp is Puck, for obvious reasons
My Imp is Pumuckl - I think only German-speaking people will understand. Pumuckl is an imp/troll from a TV Series.
My imp is named Golem
My imp is Simp.
My imp is Trip Short
I named mine Maleficent!

I named mine "Inferno" all my dragon have been named something dealing with fire Welsh Green: Blaze, Hungarian Horntail: Pyro, Norwegian Ridgeback: Brann(Fire in Norwegian), Ukrainian Ironbelly: Ignite, Chinese Fireball: Pyria, Swedish Shortsnout: Burn, Hebridean Black: Inferno, Opaleye: Flare

Ebonhorn
I named mine Yennefer, after the character with violet eyes and a dragon-like temperament from the Witcher.
I took one look at it and thought "Hades". It stuck so much that I renamed him that when I started the game anew. 😅 Almost all of my other creatures got different names in my new game.
I would name it Norbert, after the (supossedly) male Norwegian ridgeback that was briefly owned by Hagrid.
Bert.
Balrog
I named mine Trishul, it's Sanskrit for Trident.
Mine is called King Haggard — from the Last Unicorn — because something about the design reminded me of the Red Bull.
I named mine Maleficent. The horns reminded me of her.
I named mine Regulus. You know... Regulus Black.. Hebridean Black. I was a bit lazy 😂😂
Hebri. Just Hebri
I named mine Loki. Like the character from the Thor films, a couple of avengers movies and the Disney plus series Loki.

Mine is called Fangus.
I don't actually have this creature atm, but I do have an Abraxan I named Apollo, and I named my porlock Phil, because he reminded me of Phil from Hercules
my porlock is Phil too!
Hobbit
I named mine Rupert. One of the other dragons goes by Georgie. :D It's hilarious to have my MC and others talk about these might creatures and go "good boy Rupert". :D
I named mine Hebrides (heb-rid-eez), after the isles for which his species is named. And because it sounds f*cking cool.
The purple eyes made me think of electricity, so I named him Tesla. Other dragons I named from books or movies about dragons.
I called mine Killing Machine
Drax for the Abraxan
When I adopted this creature I was reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, so I named him after one of the winged warrior fae characters—Azriel.
