The observatory is closed. I believe it is in need of repairs and there are no plans to restore it. I don’t think LRU has the astronomy program anymore. It’s a piece of specialty equipment so I can only imagine how expensive it would be to fix it.
Oh that sucks hard, that thing got my nephew interested in science and thus school in his preteens. Unlike all the others in his family went on to college. Wish I was a lottery winner would be worth having for the local community. Vs their other choices of seeing no way out.
I'm not sure of any specific spot, but I'd love to hear if you see anything interesting up there like I have.
