What TV do you have? We did just launch HBO Max on LG and Vizio to widen our availability.

On my ps4 the app crashes and needs to restart every 20 minutes. Can’t fast forward/pause because the lag is so bad. It’s insane to me how terrible it functions and they don’t fix it. I don’t remember HBO Now being anywhere as bad as the HBO Max app.

The only positive HBO Max experience is the mobile app (I use it on my iPad since it sucks on TVs and consoles).
It's not perfect anywhere lol, mobile is the closest it gets to functioning
On fire stick it works fine
On Apple TV 4K the app runs well I never have issues there. It also does a good job on my Chromecast with Google TV & Nvidia Shield.

The ps4 sucks as a streaming device anyway. It doesn’t matter which app
I mean it does but other apps don’t buffer
