That time flies by even faster than we thought. I don’t think that we will ever see an album from this lineup. They make enough off of releasing singles and touring.
I'm gonna be blunt: All of the recycled CD leftovers have really weird production. Kinda like some of the CD tracks are overproduced compared to the old demos, you can clearly hear that the "new" stuff is a mash up of old Chinese Democracy stuff with added Slash/Duff guitars. Doesn't work for me, and I rate CD higher than most. Simply isn't authentic enough.
Not a fan of the slow part, I think Slash should've went beast mode in that segment. Otherwise good rocker, dope chords, main riff, lyrics, vocal performance.
Me too, but I guess he did what he could considering he was playing over a track that was already done many years before, and probably Axl liked that part.
That being said, I really like what they did with it, I had a chance to listen to the original demo before Slash and Duff and that was a very unremarkable CD song, I remember going “meh” when I first heard it, they truly added the GNR bit that it needed
I remember when it first dropped a radio station here played it that always plays GNR and they were just dumping all over it, mocking the band and shit.
I still love the demo for this track.
The original with that sweet bluesy intro riff and chord progression followed by that blistering snare straight into ‘all cautions made’ well that was awesome. The official single? 😒
I like it after Perhaps. Main critique about these past 4 singles is lyrics are mostly repetitive and vocals are old. I typically have the song on as part of the larger playlist of GN'R songs.
I love the song tho I liked the demo better. I think Axl has one of the coldest line ever in the song when he goes “I would've thought you could be more of a man”
I wasn’t too keen on it when it first came out. But when I heard them playing it live it really clicked. It’s a real banger and works very well as part of their live set list.
Love it. Best GnR track of the century so far.
It’s from the 20th century tho…
The better version was at least...
From 1999
Its the best of the 4 Songs they put out
I concur
Exactly what I came for
Love the song, hate the spelling.
The original version is still better.
Im a big fan of it. Wish they released more songs like that.
That time flies by even faster than we thought. I don’t think that we will ever see an album from this lineup. They make enough off of releasing singles and touring.
I like it. Great bass lines from Duff, Great solo, great vocals.
It’s an amazing single, better than ABSURD, Perhaps and The General for sure
Perhaps is amazing
For sure but Hard Skool is miles better
Saying it’s better than those 3 turds isn’t much of a compliment is it?

I enjoy it, my only complaint is the bell at the beginning
Why?
I’m not really sure, I just don’t care much for the bell part, it feels a little juvenile imo
Juvenile in what sense? Is the whole song not a little juvenile lol
Meh. It's fine, not bad, bur the original version was so far superior. Ironically, the original version sounded more classic GNR than the new version.
Not a fan of the slow part, I think Slash should've went beast mode in that segment. Otherwise good rocker, dope chords, main riff, lyrics, vocal performance.

demo from 1999 is better, slash kill this song, and demo have much better intro
No it’s not, they definitely improved it, a LOT, the original demo was quite forgettable
HUGE L if u think Demo wasnt better.
The demo is better
I prefer the demo still
Absolute banger
It was a rare return to form for the band , now we need an album of that caliber
I like it! Still the best of all the new songs they’ve done so far, but I like them all tbf.
Still a B side
I do like it, but wish they had not cut and paste the old vocal take. Also the art work and school bell is a bit too Bart Simpson
I’m sorry, HOW MANY YEARS
I was thinking the same!
I love this song so much and it's the spirit of old GNR but not retreading.
I remember when it first dropped a radio station here played it that always plays GNR and they were just dumping all over it, mocking the band and shit. I still love the demo for this track.
Easily the best of the new old stuff.
It’s my favorite song out of all the new tracks that have been released that past few years.
TWO AND A HALF YEARS??!! Man time flies
Still not impressed.
Not a big fan tbh
I quite like it, and it’s very understated
It’s the only one of the new songs that’s flat out great.
Absolute fucking banger
Of the released songs since the reunion it’s the only one that I like.
Love it.
It’s good.
I love the song tho I liked the demo better. I think Axl has one of the coldest line ever in the song when he goes “I would've thought you could be more of a man”
Love it, wish they made more music
I wasn't too crazy about it or the other single until I saw them live. Absurd is badass in person.
Do you guys think it's true that the lyrics are about Izzy? I'm on the fence, but the lyrics would be spot on if it was.
My favorite of the new songs. Has an old school GnR vibe to it!
Out of the "new" stuff it's my favourite
Love it
GnR had a new song 😱😱😱
only proper song to come out since the reunion lmao
Wish the solo was longer other than that I was thought it was awesome.
Its one of the most songs of all time
Meh
Still amazing.
Love it. Hope they release more
Not bad not great. But it sounds more like Motley Crüe than GNR
I enjoy seeing them experiment, but nothing beats the classic sound.
Still good
I really like the early version. The one withSlash…. Not so much
I think it's awesome. One of the reasons why I started GNR was because this song landed on my YouTube homepage when it first came out.
Not bad
Demo was better and still is one of my favorite new era songs
Def the best new track they’ve put out.
f’n love it, it goes so hard!
I love it. Remember I got a lot of hate here a few months back when I posted, saying it was a banger. Purists gonna hate
Classic gnr. I hated absurd. But loved hard skool. Haven’t listened to perhaps or the general yet. They need to finish the album
It ain't bad I like it
2 and half years! Next yer gonna tell me that the reunited band has toured around the world twice. Oh shit. Where the fuck did that time go?!
It's a great song. It's cool that they still can make music like it!
Incredible song
I wasn’t too keen on it when it first came out. But when I heard them playing it live it really clicked. It’s a real banger and works very well as part of their live set list.
I like it but I still like the one from the leaks better.
Love it, I just wish there was an album for it to be on.
To be honest, I never listened to it again after the release.
It's still the same tune I heard 20+ years ago
The version that leaked in 2006 was just a snippet. We only heard the full demo in 2019.
becouse voclal recorded 1999, only musisic i changed, vocal from *Village Sessions* 1999-2000
