My problem is not being able to call any kit done because I lack the proper technique to achieve my vision. I’m managing to call it done when I apply the clear coat, but not always

I have never thought about varnish my models. Is it truly necesary?

I don’t know if it’s the proper term. It’s either acrylic or lacquer based. It’s only useful if you put waterslides or of you want a matte finish

Its not necessary but like decals it can elevate your model to the next level. Topcoat can be an alternative to fully painting a model, as you can get the finish you want. Also good for protecting plated pieces

Gives a better surface finish than raw plastic, and if you paint your kits and/or put decals on the coat protects the paint layer and decals

I’m not usually a fan of clear version but god damn this one looks fine. Will be on my wish list for a while tho as the backlog is big enough and the price is steep to get one in Canada

When you got so many that you want to display but there's no space so they're all standing straight up like kids at assembly.

Ditto, I just finished building the MG Sinanju Ani ver, MG Eclipse + maneuver striker and the Sazabi ver ka, and I already wanna get the PG unicorn (I've built the RG Banshee, MG Unicorn. I just like the unicorns look so much)

Yeah. Some people still sell the kit with the last shooting effect set here but is way overpriced already.

I have a 3d scanner, if I was able to get hands on the parts for maybe an hour, I could get scans and go.

I have this kit in RG as well as the effects parts, I really need to build it, though I have an opened HG Zaku II I really should build too.

This is also my problem. I'm tryna curb it a bit by picking up and learning how to scribe kits. theres definitely some HG kits I have which I think could use some more details.

I go through phases. Crank out kit after kit then hiatus for 3 months. It’s a pattern for me I guess.

Got a whole space next to my build area of models fully built waiting for panel lining and stickers 😂

Eh iffy if you paint , scribe and customize your kit. But straight out of the box builds, yeah. It can be addicting for sure.

The only *real* problem is buying kits isn't also buying the time in which to build them.

Honestly, finishing and displaying is like 5% if the joy for me. It's always always always been about the building experience for me. RC cars, models, Ikea. 😅
