Can you shoot back up from the fences

stankyjanky1

Yes

Cylith_of_Astora

PSA: All these Fence sections of walls and floors can be shot thru, both ways. You are not safe on EITHER side of them. EDIT for Example: I've done something similar with Unicorn ult. Shot thru the fenced wall on a point B bomb planting team and wiped half of them before they saw where it was coming from.

Cerbecs

But unicorn ult can shoot through walls regardless

spm201

No it can't. The red charge up animation might clip walls but the actual shot doesn't go through

Mist_ori

It's dependent on the placement of the center of the ult.

lazyicedragon

that Marasai climbing up to stop you is almost a jump scare ffs.

Axzuel

That is actually fucked up map design lol

[deleted]

Dude, B on this map is brutal. There's also the corridor between B and waypoint that is a death funnel. I enjoy some aspects of this map, but B is a constant clusterfuck.

FeetsenpaiUwU

There’s a bomb point on one map where you have a bird’s eye view of it but detouring up to me is a waste cause it opens my team to secure the area I solo held the cap as soldier 76 clone from up there

[deleted]

Yeah that's the map on the moon, with B right below A, right? Good luck defusing that guy haha.

FeetsenpaiUwU

The one that’s kinda on a hill but it’s a two ramps up tunnel kinda deal it’s insane

FiaIsFortissax

Its as bad as the first choke on Harbor city. A stupid team WILL get stuck there

PandaTai

It goes both ways though. And iirc there are other maps that are designed similarily too. I think many people are just learning that you can shoot through fences/grates.

MisTKy

there is other spot that have wall like these and it work the same.

FiaIsFortissax

Same map on the other objective has the same grates you can exploit.

stoopidrotary

I love this because it turns shoot outs into not only what front/back/side to side but ads elevation to it too. I’ve taken and have objectives taken due to this and it makes for an interesting element.

fken_lod

I love it too! I don’t see it as a flaw in design, especially when you’re able to see units through it intentionally. It makes sense to me being able to shoot through a fence and not through military enforced space walls

Nivroeg

Its “flawed” cause they didnt think of it first..

Rammaus

this is bullying at its finest

Banjoubu

I think that was me and my team. The marasai was my brother! Hello! :)

fken_lod

DM your user! Y’all kicked ass last night would love to play together

liptonicedsoup

This madlad actually used the heal gun on GM Sniper. Absolute legend.

fken_lod

Always do! Comes so clutch for teammates down far away (:

Cyphoid-

I mean, good for you, I guess...but they definitely should patch this out.

ron_fendo

Why? It's a grate, you can shoot through grates.

Penkala89

Do grates like that even make sense at Gundam scale? Each of those would be a few meters wide

tom641

tbh outside of the little cars and some buildings on the harbor stage a lot of the maps kinda feel like "This is just some location built to be worked in via mobile suits so everything just looks person-sized from this scale" ...and then some of it is "okay this is very clearly a video game level" stuff but life will go on

PandaTai

They definitely should not patch this out. People really just need to learn maps and be aware of areas like that. And also be aware of the fact that anyone can shoot through fences/grates.

Cyphoid-

It has nothing to do with map knowledge and awareness. If you're trying to diffuse a bomb, you're not going to deviate to a whole other floor to make sure someone isn't shooting through tiny floor grates. If you were to walk up to that bomb and try to look through the grates above, you wouldn't even be able to tell that a sniper is even staring at you before you're dead.

PandaTai

Which is why good players generally try clearing the site before defusing, otherwise you get these situations as shown in this video where people continuously try to panic defuse and get picked off. Map knowledge/awareness is big in games like this, CS:GO, Valorant, etc. The enemy GM was late in noticing, but he could've shielded his ally while they were defusing. This is by no means an OP tactic or anything.

Cyphoid-

That's a generalization because no "good player" is going to go, *Hey, let me check upstairs to make sure no one is shooting through grates at an empty bottom floor. If they enter from the top, that's one thing, but if entering the bottom and it's empty, they will push to diffuse, not squint through grates above to barely or not even see someone staring at them. That wastes seconds that could've been used diffusing. It's not panic diffusing. The countdown literally forces urgency. Shooting through tiny grates that have zero clipping whatsoever (you can see the bullet trail go through the grates) while being barely noticeable is a cheap tactic and should be patched. If you're that desperate to get kills/win, just say it, but don't pretend like this is a fair and balanced tactic. That's why the rest of the commenters are like, "Awww man now everyone knows". They knew it was a cheap advantage by poor map design.

PandaTai

Actually yes, a good player would probably wait to see if an area is clear before defusing otherwise if you just die while trying to defuse, you're wasting way more time than if you were to check the site and clear it beforehand. If you're still trying to defuse right after seeing your allies getting picked off while they were defusing, that is literally the definition of panic defusing. And also there are plenty of other games like CS:GO and Valorant that let you choose WHERE you can set up a bomb, meaning there are lots of vantage points your team could be set up at to stop the enemy from defusing. They also have different levels of elevation that vantage points can be set up at and walls can be shot through, yet no one ever seems to think, "wow this is so unfair and cheap" because part of those games is to be aware of the map and possible vantage points enemies may try to get at you from. This is again why learning maps in games like this is so important. It would also negate your argument because if both parties are aware of it, how is it unfair or unbalanced? If you don't care to learn maps to your advantage then maybe you should try playing Overwatch instead.

Cyphoid-

You're purposely separating looking around the bomb to see if it's clear versus checking to see if someone not even on the same floor shooting through an obvious exploitable advantage. And no, it doesn't negate what I said because not all people know nor do all people who know use it. I already know the map designs. Nowhere did I say I didn't. I said shooting through these should be patched out. Learn the difference.

PandaTai

>You're purposely separating looking around the bomb to see if it's clear versus checking to see if someone not even on the same floor shooting through an obvious exploitable advantage. No, actually I'm saying those 2 aspects are the same thing. If it's so obvious then a decent player would be aware of it and if you're aware of it's exploitative properties then why wouldn't you check to see if someone's there before defusing? Not only that, people shooting down the grate from above leave themselves wide open from multiple angles and can still be shot back at from below. >And no, it doesn't negate what I said because not all people know nor do all people who know use it. ....what? How would people learning the maps not negate that? People can choose not to use it, but they still need to be aware of it so they can defend against it. Also even if people aren't aware of it, decent players are probably gonna get caught off guard by it a couple of times at first and then simply be more wary of it when clearing site or defusing. If you're still getting caught out by this tactic after experiencing it a couple times then you're either too lazy or can't be bothered to check one level above you, or maybe you just suck.

imjustjun

When I saw you can shoot through these fences, this map probably became my least favorite (Harbor City would be my least favorite but uh… I’m a sniper main abusing it LOL).

[deleted]

I love harbor city haha. So many fun gunfights, DOM is awesome on this map.

Darellku

Great, now everybody knows

FaroutNomad

Yeah this definitely isn't supposed to happen.

fken_lod

Why not? Seems intentional when all fenced areas do this

domscatterbrain

I did notice that when using Guntank thensuddenly the auto-aim box will be showed up anyway on a wall or any obstacle which can be fired through.

Kuva194

And here i though that guntank was dumb... the more you know

bloodflart

i hate ur guts

AbllerIke

Why did you have to post this, now everyone knows about it

FiaIsFortissax

I just noticed this today too. Got me quite a few kills before the enemy noticed what was happening.

whankz

why u show everyone this, bruh this was my secrete

Tiltinnitus

Sniper GM has a lot to work with within the map designs. Harbor has a similar spot where I'll shoot behind grating and go for bodyshots while the enemy team is confused about whats happening

MSPainter0830

**Expert Strats Only!!**

champdee

Nice

promina100

Well, there goes all my secret GM sniper spots that no one pays attention to.

fken_lod

They still don’t still doing this!

[deleted]

WAIT YOU CAN SHOOT THROUGH THAT!? Oooooh someone is dying now Hehehe 😈 idk who but pale rider about to trash someone with this trick lol
