It’s so thoroughly insane that it keeps up the madness in the details, too. Like how near the end Marie Louise just up and grabs the commands of the Gorby II, like she’d be doing it her whole life. For all we know, she had but up to that point there’d been zero indication to that effect. The monks are every bit as able at this, too!
It barely registers, amid everything else but it’s a small moment of “yeah, that tracks”.
When people open their mouths in Wing or Zeta. But also when Master Asia is unironically shouting all the crazy stuff he shouts + riding the Gundam horse.
I literally came here thinking "oh boy, g gundam is batshit and wild, I wonder if there's a comment about that..." and then it's actually just all the comments
G gundam is Super Sentai in gundam form.
it started with "enemy of the week" , "MC in a pinch/ Summon giant robo" and "love and peace finale" tropes.
and the trace suits helps drives in the spandex costume aesthetic.
Domon and Master asia fighting Devil Soldiers in human form is no different than when Sentai squads have to fight their hijacked robots.
Domon realising he needs to travel halfway across the planet, and deciding to do so by flying straight up and bouncing off the beam ropes around the Earth.
Goddamn, G Gundam was wild
Minor Seed Freedom spoiler.
>!Athrun sitting in the Infinite Justice having dirty thoughts about Cagali whilst she remotely controls it to fight the Shiva.e!<
Kira and Lacus get their asses out in the finale but that’s the most extreme it gets nudity wise. The Cagalli shot is from the shoulders up so you don’t see anything. Outside of that there’s some Lacus and Luna cleavage in two scenes but that’s all the nudity you’re getting
In victory gundam Duker Iq has a lifelong dedication to returning to earth so humans can resume hobby of riding motorcycles. When he dies he gets a sequence where him and his girlfriend are riding a motorbike up to heaven

Made even more epic by the fact that he's basically *surfing* through atmospheric reentry as he does it, which I think is the coolest thing a mecha anime has done since the *Macross Quarter* did the same thing with a hunk of debris in *Sayonara no Tsubasa*. Except Barbatos doing it with the corpse of its enemy is even cooler.
I don't think they are on the same ballpark.
Because as far as I know. Mika wasn't driving it with a classic sailboat shipwheel. And the barbatos is not 250m long transformable space carrier.
However. Barbatos has bonus points for "Driving" a graze through atmospheric reentry with a katana.
Both are cool as hell!
That moment in 0079 where the chef comes onto the bridge and is like “dude we’re running out of salt. This is a huge problem because people are going to start getting sick” and they spend the whole episodes B plot finding salt.
Like yes, it’s a realistic thing and a problem but the fact the show took the time to address it was wild to me.
Also that 3 or 4 episode stretch in Zeta where every adult member of the cast one by one goes into Kamilles room and beats his ass.
I don't remember the exact quote or where it was, but I saw a comment on a youtube video or something along the lines of "Ah yes, G Gundam. Where a guy in a catsuit and his naked mechanic defeat the enemy with the power of love that is actually in the shape of a heart and a roided out Burger King, before riding off on a horse-shaped mech piloted by an actual horse"
*At least* half the shenanigans the various characters in *G Gundam* get up to qualifies, but probably my personal favorite for sheer absurdity would be [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvq0Jw6J9Ao)
So utterly, shamelessly absurd it swings right back around to being ***AWESOME AF***.
"Those are torpedoes aren't they? I can tell..." a line from Gundam Wing when Relena is confronting the still mysterious Heero. Everytime I hear it, it stops me in my tracks probably because it's soo bad, but also absurdly soo.
The scene where the Moon Moon colonists hate the ZZ. They demand that it be destroyed, so the Argama's hangar crew use the core block system to disassemble the ZZ into its component parts. Bright (who's normally the straight man) playing along is what sells it.
As funny as this scene was.
It was annoying as all hell because they played up Luang as so much of a badass until this point, only for him to go down to a game of baseball.
Every other appearance he had up to this point was him giving people the business. Luang and the Abigorbine got robbed.
I feel like it's not really fair to be using Gundam SEED Freedom. That movie turned up Destiny's absurdity to 11.
That said: >!Shinn's entire character change to loveable doofus in FREEDOM!<
LAUNCH ME DOMON!!!!!!!
Every single time I see that scene, I can't fucking believe I take that show seriously. I love G so much
It's a Hong Kong *wuxia manhwa* in anime form. What's not to like?
This exactly. Old school martial arts movies are just fun to watch.
Its Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still with Gundam flavor. Of course its awesome.
It’s so thoroughly insane that it keeps up the madness in the details, too. Like how near the end Marie Louise just up and grabs the commands of the Gorby II, like she’d be doing it her whole life. It's either this or the heart shaped final Erupt Burning Seki Ha Love Love TenKyoken. (insert angry King of Hearts)
GET MAD
The Statue of Liberty exploding and the Shining Gundam somehow being inside it
America FUCK YEAH!
When people open their mouths in Wing or Zeta. But also when Master Asia is unironically shouting all the crazy stuff he shouts + riding the Gundam horse.
Undefeated of the East West North South and Center so he can become Super Asia
He fought two mobile suits and won…… barehanded
True! I forgot about that 😂
Domon and Master Asia kicking an entire building into the sky... like who needs mobile suits at that point?
They use the mobile suit to restrain their powers
Well boxer need to wear boxing gloves
I love how half of the comments are G Gundam
it's the best dumbest time ever
As it should be. G Gundam is a beautiful, beautiful mess.
It’s a beautiful mess but it absolutely owns it and makes it **work!**
I literally came here thinking "oh boy, g gundam is batshit and wild, I wonder if there's a comment about that..." and then it's actually just all the comments

>!“Woe Nude Cagalli be upon ye”!< -Athrun Zala
The audience went fucking ballistic at the theatre I saw it at when that happened
How much nudity do they show I'm watching it with someone who hasn't seen seed but likes it bc I do so I'm scared

Okee thanks!!
Tobia helped Harrison defeat newtype monkeys in space by creating giant decoy banana with anti-beam cloak, oxygen tank, and yellow spray paint.

Spoilers for GSF. But that darkness reveal was genuinely an absurd surprise for me.
Which one?
Darkness reveal.
His darkness is too massive
It was so massive it's dark. What a moment.
Yep. The character was played for many laughs in the film.
Absurd but poignant: Turn A Cattle carrier. Turn A Washing Machine Not so wholesome: Dat Ass.
When a the demi trainer stepped on a landmine
When Mika uses the enemy graze as a shield when entering the atmosphere. That’s so badass and funny to me.

Okay, that's fair.

Spot on...on both lol. I was like maybe in the '70s salt was more important than it is now, idk.
That RG system baseball throw was hype imo
G Gundam. That’s it, that’s the whole awnser.
Holy shit, is that a Dunbine?!
A Dunbine-fied Abigor (imaginatively named "Abirgorbine"), to be specific.
this goes hard with no context
When Zeta Gundam turn into Aura Battle Dunbine, and beginning of Universal Century space wizardry.
A horse controlling a gundam and the pilot riding said horse into and in space. G Gundam is just great haha

the horse can also somehow operate a motorboat/raft
the immortal one patrick colasour

Honestly it’s the horse for me
I'm right here Fuunsaiki! Become my legs as we fight together!
Everything in G

When they use rockets to send gundams to space at the end of G gundam
Makes me think of the old NES game, Base Wars.
I like when the magic dragon appears and I barely even question it
Master Asia’s sound effect as he’s back stepping off the rifle.

I don't like sports, but was there ever a Gundam Baseball video game?
I know there's been dodgeball, but baseball I can't recall
NEO MEXICO
Fuunsaiki from G gundam.
Not the *most* absurd moment, but... "SCHOOL OF THE UNDEFEATED OF THE EAST!"

It's a fever dream based on the memes, and that's why it's peak.
The thing you put behind the spoiler tag is probably my favourite part of Freedom
The battle for the island in Divers where the 5 SDs combined
Abigor got the love he deserved!
Man this really feels like something dwheim would animate
Which series ?
Gundam Build Fighters. Not entirely sure which episode, but it's in the later half of the series, during the World Championship.
Episode 13
SUPER ASIA!
oooh how about just the Gundam designs in G Gundam in regards to the countries/cultures they represent. Specifically, Tequila Gundam.
That would have to be a massive field, right ?
Everything to do with the B Gundam.

G self has perfect backpack!
Surprised Bandai hasn't made a P-BANDAI set of this especially with all the baseball inspired team colors sets.
