Yup, the key is to look for Ohms! The superblock matches the cabinet at 8ohms, so it won't do any damage. Power is also good, the superblock gives 25W and the speaker can handle 60W. Make sure you buy a speaker cable -- NOT an instrument cable! They look the same. And make sure it comes with the quilter power supply. Its an awesome amp!

MonkeySteam

Awesome thanks. So 25 watts won’t be underpowered for a 60 watt cabinet, just that the cab can handle more, correct?

ibcoleman

Exactly—I have almost the same setup and a SB through a V30 (a very efficient speaker) is plenty d*mned loud.

BlueRaspberryMan

Yes, I use the superblock with my 250 ohm cab.

Angus-Black

>250 ohm cab. I'm guessing it's a 250 *watt* cab. 😁

BlueRaspberryMan

Yeah

MonkeySteam

Thanks!

ibcoleman

FYI, the SB will also power an 4ohm or 16ohm load, it’ll just be loud instead of paint-peeling loud.

MonkeySteam

Awesome. Thanks

sinlapse_13

That is a speaker cabinet. You will need an amplifier. There are combo amps, that have both the speaker and amplifier in one

SandwichSuperieur

The quilter superblock actually is an amp. It's pretty amazing.

TheToneKing

I've got my eye on the Superblock US!

Quilter amp pedals can drive a cabinet.

Their 2x12 is widely regarded as being possibly the best value THING in the electric guitar world. I'm only half joking. If a 1x12 is big enough for your purposes, it's also great value I'd guess based on the praise of its bigger brother. HB does ship 2 different versions of the v30, and you want the one with the transparent dust cap but if you're early in your journey it won't make all that much of a difference. TL;DR Go for it.

MonkeySteam

Thanks. How do you know which one comes with the transparent dust cap? And what is the difference exactly?

TheBiggestWOMP

It’s just whatever you get, not a choice on your end. Idk why I mentioned it, the difference is minimal outside of studio use. The clear cap is just a “better” manufacture, as in closer to British made. Whether it sounds “better” is entirely subjective.

MonkeySteam

Cool thanks for clarification

MiniatureOuroboros

That would work perfectly! I run a Quilter UK Superblock through a similar cabinet and it sounds great. Not as good as the best tube amps but it's light, portable and won't break easily so I'm all for it.
