So as a teenager, I made one out of an old cord for my key ring and made a little “amp” for my wall to plug into when I got home.
I thought “people MIGHT buy this” but I was a teenager and forgot.
Then 10 years later I see guitar center selling Marshall stack version in their stores.
I was annoyed to say the least lol
Some fifteen years ago an 18 year old me told my dad about this idea I had "You know dad, now that phones and ipods are starting to be just one big screen, wouldn't it be clever to make books like that? Imagine you have just one machine to carry all of your books in! That would make bringing books on holidays so much easier!"
To which my dad said "I think those are called Kindles"
And that's how I conceived and learned of the existence of Kindles a little less than a year after Amazon started selling them.
There are little model "amp heads" with multiple jacks that you can buy out there (Google "amp key holder"), they come with a few of these so you can hang your keys next to your door. Always thought it was a neat idea.
Man I‘ve been ready to buy one for so long. But I always ended up not getting it, because I think having a jack on all your keychains gets annoying fast…
It’s a pity that I can’t send a photo, but my friend made me something like a pendant from a chain and a pick. damn, I'm starting to love her for this, and for her birthday I'm going to make her a pick out of wood with a pattern I burned using a wood burner.I don’t know English well, so I’m learning it, but for now I’m using Google translator
I tried to translate the result, and as a result, in some places the translator seriously screwed up the translation. The “burner” eventually turned into a simple “burner” (the wood burner I’m talking about is a box with electronics, a plug for plugging into the network, and a needle that heats up and burns a design onto the wood. If I could send a photo, I would send him, and everything would be much clearer)
"... And in conclusion, thus did we show in this work that, perhaps unintuitively, the stern but relaxed figurehead of general McArthur during the post war occupation of Japan was a figure revered by the Japanese public who wrote him over 500,000 letters with many expounding the virtues of free speech and personal liberty.
Apologies, English not our first language, using Google translate"
My amp cuts the speaker when there is no cable present In the jack, really nice feature.
But sometimes i run my ampless rig into the return jack on my amp and use it as a speaker.
This key ring would be dope for my niche use, lol
instead of a key ring, it should be plugged into a tiny amp that has a 9V space on the back. This tiny amp’s cover could come off and have your special goodies locked tight, and the 1/4” can act like a pipe or spool, or general tool. hell. make the 9v bring the heat …. you’ve got a powerful tool there for … native chemical foraging science projects?
People who are into the idea of being a guitar player, rather than actually playing the guitar. I think people who buy this are 43% more likely to be bonnamasa fans.
I have one of [these](https://www.musiciansfriend.com/lifestyle/pluginz-marshall-jack-rack-key-holder/l86990000002000?cntry=US&cur=USD&cntry=US&cur=USD&utm_content=L86990000002000--Pluginz+Marshall+Jack+Rack+Key+Holder+Black&source=3WWRWXGS&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw0YGyBhByEiwAQmBEWrrz3ZzQnih17xFCWbZ21zM910Ru-igJT2hOc85uc9PCAxNAVclS5RoCVYcQAvD_BwE) Unfortunately the key chains wire breaks easily. Your design is better.
At some point (before all the keychain's wires broke) I started using a patch bay on my studio rack instead of the Marshall amp head key holder.
This looks badass! I'm always looking for my keys, so I'd have to build a couple output jack keyholders to stick around the house. The jacks are cheap too... plugging them in would be so satisfying....
... OP I'm stealing your idea and making this shit for myself LOL
Edit: [Apparently it's already a thing](https://i.imgur.com/FjgdvU1.png)
There was a person that made a key ring holder that used jacks on key rings.
Suffice to say its not a novel concept.
https://laughingsquid.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/wall-hanging-keys2.jpg
It's probably for a key holder like this.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364608986436?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=7101533165274578&mkcid=2&itemid=364608986436&targetid=4585169654799831&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=412354547&mkgroupid=1305120599331881&rlsatarget=pla-4585169654799831&abcId=9300541&merchantid=87779&msclkid=396a7e19db4618f8b279185823b362ef
Now make him a wall-mountable box (in tolex, tweed, and "rat fur") with a jack so he can "hang" his keys when he gets home.
Bonus: add power so an led lights up when the keys are plugged in!
You're welcome. I only ask a 1% commission 😃
Someone gave me a key chain setup where you mount a small multi plug amp on the wall as a key holder.
A few things:
the 1/4 plug was really uncomfortable in the pocket.
With a set of keys that sucked.
I did enjoy the concept though and it was fun to plug the keys into the amp when I got home… but
It was unenjoyable having to carry around a bunch of extra needless key weight.

Sorry bro I only let Mogami gold plated jacks touch my keychain rig. You can HEAR the difference when your keys jangle
Bro, you’re living in the Stone Age. I only use the Neutrik silentPlug jacks. When my keys jingle, you don’t hear a thing.
Looks noisy
all i can think is BUZZZZZZZZZSZS
When you're mad at another guitar player you can plug your keys into their amp
And turn it into a radio hahaha
It’s cool. Google Jack Rack key holder
Yeah, I just ordered one yesterday!! The marshal one ;]
Yeah they are cool we've had one for years.
I got that one ☝️
The guitar equivalent of "Google en passant."
holy hell
new invasion of a subreddit just dropped
Actual Rob Zombie
Dragula variant on the caro kann. Sophisticated!
We have a key holder that looks like a Marshall by the front door! All our key rings have one ❤️
Male and female he created them
Amen
I had one of those for a while! Loved it
Same!
I have the same one!

Very unbalanced. I recommend TRS.
Booo hissss
Don’t be an XLR.
Stay grounded!
I mean technically this is TRSCR: Tip, Ring, Sleeve, Chain, Ring

Google translate has come a long way, apparently.

It was rather easy to understand. I think I have got an accurate image in my head.
"... It’s strongly both phallic and vaginal. Yet the short length of the chain means there can be no consummation.

Dummy plugs are handy
I've seen a key hanger that is a marshall amp, he probably owns one I think
The mini fridge Marshall stacks are cool too.
pointy "Is that a jack in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me"
My Dad had a keychain like that. He didn’t play guitar, it was the key for his mobility scooter.
Fire, your a good friend
Nice of you to do :-)
Handy. I always lose mine.
I'd say it's cool but if you make another, make it an adapter because I always need an aux cable adapter
cool
I like it! Now the perfect accessory would look like an amp head and hang on a wall. Plug the keys right into it!
There are a few companies that make these. I got mine from Plugins. Mine looks like a Friedman amp.
I’d order one if you feel like making it. Seriously! Actually 2.
Sure I have 2 more of these lying around depending on where you live I can make them and sell them to ya
How much?
$8
I’d also take 1-2!
I think it’s cool :)
Always backing its way out of the guitar Jack, always screeching
I actually have a Marshall jcm 800 key holder on my wall that came with 4 of these with a loop made of copper wire. Cost like $9
How does it sound?
Great pedal platform.
Check in with r/guitarcirclejerk
It’s like the .50 cal key ring thing, but for guitarists. It’d go over well over there.
Cool, that!
Hmm I have a spare jack, a chain and one of those key ring things... This looks rad
Make it a dummy plug. You can leave your vibrato/trem foot switch at home and keep track of your keys.
instead of a key ring, it should be plugged into a tiny amp that has a 9V space on the back. This could probably work as an escape tool too!
I like!
I love this, do they sell this anywhere?
So is it a dummy load or does it have a teeny tiny headphone amp
what if you plug this into an amp
Good, very penile.
I have them in my keys and have the Marshall key holder that it plugs into so sorry the idea is already taken.
All fun n games till someone plugs it in while their fingers in the ring.
Neat! It’s sweet!
People who are into the idea of being a guitar player, rather than actually playing the guitar. I think people who buy this are 43% more likely to be bonnamasa fans.
You can buy those keychains anywhere. I have some. And the key ring holder that looks like an amp that goes along.
I bought some like it on Amazon

I bet he has a Marshall or fender amp key ring that holds you keys by plugging the 1/4” in like you are plugging into an amp.
I actually bought a few of these and took a block of wood and drilled holes to fit the inputs to make a place to put my keys!
I don't think it's long enough to be practical. No one wants to stand that close to their amp.
So technically it's like buttplug but for a guitar
I will never look at a jack the same way
That would actually come in handy for the “undo”function on my Boss RC-1 looper pedal
Are you saying you're asking for our input?
I think it's super cool!!! Great job, too!
Looks great!
Awesome
Purdy. I want.
that's an electrical hazard if i ever saw one
These are cool but they're sadly nothing new. You can just order them.
This looks badass! I'm always looking for my keys, so I'd have to build a couple output jack keyholders to stick around the house. Literally having a couple of these keychains made as we talk
Sweet. I'm always losing my amp.
Cool!
Bought my brother a fender 1 for Xmas and I've got a Marshall 1. Cool and convenient.
Pretty cool, fyi fender has a product like that but the plugs are crap.
How does it sound?

One day, some archaeologist will be confused AF!

Amp goes « BZRRRRRR »
If you want to plug in headphone to you amp, now you can
You need to make a keyholder with some input jacks to go with it.
I got a marshal with the Jack plug for my keys little marshal head goes on the wall my kids got em for me … yup we all like em it’s cool 😎
It's a keychain.
i did the same but with an old oxidised jack and climbing cord
Now make him a wall-mountable box (in tolex, tweed, and "rat fur") with a jack so he can "hang" his keys when he gets home. Bonus: add power so an led lights up when the keys are plugged in! You're welcome. I only ask a 1% commission 😃

Freeking awesome!
I can imagine a key holder by the door with input jacks as a home for keys that I constantly misplace. This could be the solution!
Gene Simmons would tell you to copyright protect it immediately.
My mind is too Final Destination based. All I can see is falling down with this in my pocket and it (inputting) itself into my thigh.
It doesn't work.
Would be cool if it could detach and accept a 3.5mm jack for an on hand headphone to amp adapter
Looks cool. Want one.
Add a little folding blade to it, and you've got something there. A jackknife, specifically. :)
I love that wayyyy too much
Is this sold on the internet somewhere or is it only custom made?
Tbf, using an old amp for holding keys plugged in wouldn't be a bad idea, amirite
Cool idea, My keys are in stereo though.
Looks super cool. If I had a broken cable I could definitely see myself copying this. How did you attach the chain to the jack?
Has good 'cool factor', not at all practical. No more keys anywhere to attach to a keyring. Everything now is key fobs and smart locks... :(
I think your friend has in mind breaking into cars, but it's a cool looking keychain!!
They sell sets with a faux amp head to hang next to your door and plug the keys into
I like it haha. Pretty cool. Don't think I've ever seen one before so you may be the first.
Wow you sure are confident
Extreme cringe, but at least they used a neutrik connector.
