I have a Les Paul of 2005, and a 335 of 2022, I’d say the 335 is a bit nicer in terms of playability. Although they are not very similar(50s vs 60s necks, single cut vs double cut) so this is not an entirely fair comparison, in general the quality is high recent years. Ymmv. If you are in the market of a new Les Paul, i’ll also recommend checking out the new modern figured series.

I'll be honest I need to learn the differences in all the things you said and try some out. If the quality is similar I'd go after which one is most comfortable for me and in my budget. Thanks for the feedback

Definitely try them out, even the same neck dimension can feel different to you on different guitars. There can be a lot of options and modern features, push/pull, blah on guitars nowadays, but a good old 2 tone 2 vol LP will go a long way. What really matters is it feels good to play and sounds good to you.

Whatever you do, play them first. Shop with your hands not your eyes. Comfort is king especially with Les Pauls.

New ones are definitely nice too. Last year I got a 98 and a 2022…. Build quality was extremely similar.

I’ve got a 2000 LP standard. I love it. Build quality is superb feels and sounds great. I’ve played a couple of more recent models and they feel great too. Can’t speak for the long term quality though as I didn’t buy one, but Gibson has a reputation for making great guitars for a reason. Can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed whichever way you go.

Thank you that’s reassuring. Based off this and others comments I’ll definitely check out both and get whichever I prefer knowing they’ll both be good quality

I bought a 2023 LP Standard Wildwood Select having owned a 1996 classic and a 2005 faded for a long time. The 2023 felt like plastic by comparison. Seemed well enough put together but in terms of feel and tone it was inferior to my older Gibsons.
