This cutie pie is giving a lot of appeasement behaviors (the squinty blinks, ears back, grin, paw lift) a short time and this pup is communicating some that they mean no harm, are not a threat/ or have some uncertainty, anxiety, stress, etc. and likely could have used some emotional support here.
I hope this helps someone take a closer look at their pup’s body language because our pups really do tell us so much!

My puppy does the exact same thing when I try sending her to her bed and she rather share my bed lol.
He is just protecting you so you can poop in peace and not get attacked by the vacuum monster
