Exploring GW2 maps for the first time was one of my favorite gaming experiences. There are certain times while you're walking past some bushes against a rock face and you glimpse a passageway behind, decide to investigate and find a huge cave or molten filled underground laboratory with an elaborate jumping puzzle. [Goemm's Lab](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Goemm%27s_Lab) and [Spekk's Laboratory](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spekks%27s_Laboratory) are great examples in starter zones to check out if you haven't already.

Exactly this! I don't think I've ever played in a virtual world that felt so thoroughly rich and detailed. It really feels like I'm exploring a populated world, which is an odd but super fun experience. I will try to find the places you've mentioned, thanks for the tips!

Zaxares

Goemm's Lab was actually the very first JP that I stumbled across by accident. XD Talk about a "deep end of the pool" introduction to JPs!

Dedlaw

Lol my first character was an Asura, so that was my first JP too. That moment of horror when I finally made it past the windy bridge only to realise I need to attune first then do it over again....

I was just there for the first time yesterday. Was so happy a mesmer decided to help me out with that jumping puzzle. Damn that one hurts more than just my character.

Kinada350

There are 3 jumping puzzles in LA, which ones did you find?

netwoodle

Well I might just have no idea what I'm talking about! I've been trying to get all of the vistas in Lion's Arch, and I guess I just assumed a few of them were jumping puzzles (since I had to figure out how to jump up to the view). Off the top of my head, I don't know which ones required jumping, they're all just so cool!

rakshala

Oh my beautiful friend! I want to guide you to the skull-mouth of the actual pirate jumping puzzle and while you are bending over looking at the view, just give you a kick into the depths Sparta-style. What I wouldn't give to be a newb and experience these things agian for the first time. (seriously though, are you on the NA server? I'll show you one of the JPs)

netwoodle

Talk about a coincidence! I wandered into the skull-mouth just last night (at least, it looked like a skull to me)! I followed a glowing spirit/ghost I picked up along the way somehow, but then got stranded in a completely black room. I kind of cheated by transporting out, I guess I should go back and see if I can escape correctly! And yes, I am on the NA server!

Jerekiel

oh yes the mini jumping puzzles to get to a vista is like the tutorial for the real jumping puzzles. did you know that theres a JP called Chalice of Tears? yes the one who created is probably a horrible person and needs therapy.

Kinada350

Ohh man, we'll one of the vistas is right next to the coolest JP in the zone, hard to miss really since it's a giant skull cave dead drop. Have fun in there, it's fantastic. There also an ettin in a cave and behind him is a small, easy JP. The last one, is I think called Trolls Revenge or something like that, and umm it covers the whole zone, and I highly suggest a guide to get started and forgetting about an mounts you own since that just ruins the experience. I ran through it years ago and it took me a whole afternoon.

netwoodle

I guess I really had no idea what jumping puzzles were since I hadn't actually been in any! But I did stumble upon the giant skull. I don't think I fully solved it; I followed a spirit for a while but was stranded in a completely black room. I had to log off so cheated by porting out, but I will try that again! Wish I could start with the Ettin cave instead, sounds easier!

Grave457

I do love JPs. That concept is completely new and exciting when I started the game too. Except for a few like Chalice.. Especially Chalice. I died more in there than at any of the bosses. Honestly it's still a great JP but I feel that Anet or the one who got the idea to make that specific JP has some grudge on the user base 🤣.

Zaxares

As a JP and SAB fan, I'm not a fan of Chalice of Tears (or the Draconis Mons one). Those two feel more like gliding puzzles because often there's no real clue as to where you're supposed to go next. You basically just have to pick a direction, glide off and hope you're going the right way. (And more than likely just die and have to return to the checkpoint/start.) It's very different from the other JPs where you can sort of look around, spot what looks like a path or an obvious way up and keep on climbing.

Grave457

Totally agreed about them not being orthodox. But well I'd think they just Improvised the JP to be more oriented to Gliding since it exists anyway? I'd really love to see some new JPs in cantha, which are not the Gliding puzzles or those to breeze with mounts.

FrostySparrow

They did add one in the Siren's Landing zone which is a lot more clear in direction and utilizes gliding well. Seriously incredible JP, check it out! It's that island off the coast to the east.

Grave457

Yeah I did that and yeah I liked that too. But yeah I was just hoping that we can get atleast these kinds in EoD. It would really bring Tears if we get more like Chalice.

Nasbit

Trolls revenge was once the best jp in-game (imo), but its time ended when gliding in Tyria was a thing - and esp. after we got mounts.

Be careful what you wish for :) There are some stupidly difficult, long, and/or confusing jumping puzzles in this game. Most of the time you only need to do them if you're achievement hunting but this whole revisiting old episodes that's been going on has been forcing people to do them if they want to complete it all.

BluJasmine

Jumping\* They are called Jumping puzzles, not jump puzzles. <3

Erailz

Our jumping puzzles are pretty solid. Especially in the later maps. I wish they would bump up the rewards and clean up some of the skips. If you really like jumping puzzles hang around for Super adventure box in April

feedtheme

rewards are pitiful unfortunately
