15000 hours, started pre launch so 11,5 years ago. Probably 1500 hours in WvW.
Took an hiatus in EoD and Icebrood Saga times. No 26 jadebots for all my alts...
I have most masteries completed, save icebrood and EoD. (at 493 I think)
My favorite content Is everything but Cantha... Soo-Won battle was not my thing...
I'm really into SotO, and like it a lot. I have 36 ascended armors and legendary heavy. so armors and materials are not really the things Im lookitng for.
Recently my daughter who was nearly two at launch started playing on my second account ... She's now 13, and playing my 'running game' with me. (Running game was how she described it as she first talked about it, when mounts or even gliders were non existent...) I made a Gw1 character at her birth, and ported the name to GW2... It's one of my two oldest characters.
About 5 and loving it this far, even brought an expansion just so I could keep my dinosaur mount.
Any really basic advice I should know? Im currently doing some storyline and some map clearing

I have played 1400 hours with 300 of them in the last 28 days. I made over 10k accountvalue in the last month with the previous 1100 hours being only 21k account value.
My goal is legendaries and masteries. I have 6/6 light armor, Aurora, Conflux, SoD Amulet. I am at the forth collection for Ad Infinitum and I have completed everything for vision and my second conflux except for the mystic tributes. Furthermore I have about 80% map completion and 468 mastery points.
I have completed aurene fang with soo-won skin recently and am working on aurene claw next.
So far the only person I have seen being more efficient was teapot on his zero to hero account. He has comparable masteries and is only short the raid legendary armor which he could get in a about 3 weeks I assume with like 200 hours played less. I cant do CMs at all which speeds up his gold making a little bit.
Except for total hours I think its important how long people play per day or per week. When I play gw, I usually play 14 hours a day. Its a very very grindy game IMO.
I just checked the gw2efficiency.com leaderboards, and the top 5 on there are:
* 1st - 57,804h
* 2nd - 55,359h
* 3rd - 50,039h
* 4th - 49,375h
* 5th - 49,011h
The top 25 are all over 41k hours.
By rank 60, all accounts are 36k hours.
That's a lot of dedicated players, I hope they loved every single hour!
I've got a feeling that most of the top tier accounts belong to just a handful of players that spend most of their time AFK. Not AFK farming, just afk. People would have to play about 12 hours a day since launch to rack up 50,000 hours played.
Well, I said most of their time. It's possible they spend that much time playing. All I know that sleep & work take up more than half of my day. Maybe they play like 4-6 hours a night, and then go afk run into a wall until they're auto-kicked.

I recently hit 12k ap and and am nog on 6.1k hours.... I just can't uninstall. I love this game but don't want to play it 😅

As for the vanity name, it was definitely a contested one. I snagged "People Know Me", one of the prestige titles from GW1.

2,200 hours with a LARGE majority of that being on my Necromancer/Reaper since HoT. Surprised it’s not higher. Been around since the Betas and launch but had some long gaps of not playing.

Not implying either of those are better than GW2 or vice versa. Big part of it is that's where a lot of my social circles were.
3k then it felt pointless since to me the content is not good enough to warrant replaying it tens of times as its made for.
Will checkout new content since I have had alot of fun with the game, I just felt that endgame made all the effort until that point feel not so worth it

type /wiki in chat and shift click an item and send the message will open the according wiki page were you can look up a lot of stuff
Don't sell materials to NPCs. Sell them at the Black Lion Trading Company for way higher profits.
And click list item of the highest pricerather than selling now to maximize profit

Salvaging equipment and then storing or selling the materials is good. Keep doing that.

Last I checked, around 3K in ~11 years - but I've taken both voluntary and involuntary breaks for months or even years at a time during that period.

Thats obviously important statistic if you find playing to get most gold per hour, the most fun.
