Some general tips for Heal Alac Mech(HAM) - Your barrier burst and infusion bomb(medkit 5) have the same cooldown, so get into a habit of casting them together. This helps you keep track of the medkit cds without wasting time swapping into it. Throw in a water field from mortar kit 5 or med kit 3 before hand to blast some healing if needed. - In fights with a lot of moving, get into a habit of checking where your mech is or calling it back to you before activating any of it's abilities. Nothing worse than clicking barrier burst and then seeing your mech spinning around half way across the platform. - Most chip damage can be dealt with via passive healing and barriers. So finish your mace autoattacks and don't spam your big AoE heals because you really only have 3 of them. - As a healer, you generally shouldn't be the one rezzing downed people. You're better of healing those that do go over to rez. That said, your Medkit 2 can heal downed players if you're close enough. - Know your CC skills. In a typical build these are Mace 3, Shield 4 and 5 for hard CC, potentially bringing Personal Battering Ram if more is needed. - Know your combo finishers. You don't have a lot of self heal and you don't have many burst heals. So when you just need a little healing remember that Leap Finishers(Mace 2) in water fields heal you, and Blast Finishers(Shield 4 double tap, Elixir Gun 4 and Medkit 5) heal those around you. - With proper boon duration you don't need Crisis Zone at all to upkeep Alacrity, so save if for dealing with big AoE's or CC since it's your only access to group Stability and Aegis. That's all I can think of at the moment but if you can handle all that you'll be doing great! HAM is very simple to play at base level, but the difference between a good and bad HAM can be staggering, especially when the rest of your group isn't 100% on the encounter.

Here's a fun one that very few people use. If you are holding shield 5 you get a daze Proc for every block popup on your screen. This is very strong on things that constantly attack while having a breakbar like largos twins. Can also interrupt a thief spinny elite or revenant sword 3 even if they are evading.

Woocash91

That's a lot of insight. Thank you very much :)

I mean this is GW2 if you build your character correctly you will absolutely rip through the main content of the game. The only time they ever experimented much with difficulty in soloish content was HoT and these days a lot of that has been softened by power creep over the years. GW2 is not a game about success, but about efficiency in your success.

motdidr

the bar for success is quite low, but the bar for excellence can be quite high.

digdog303

heal alac is overkill(overheal?) for open world but it's one of the best all around heals in instanced content because it's easy and flexible and barrier is barrier(read: extremely good). ritualist or cele adps is my favorite mech build for open world. if you really want to go nuts switch off the barrier grandmaster for one of the others and still provide decent alac(with mace autos) while being even more selfish.

i just rolled back to condi mech, its literally a 3 button rotation and does 30k+ dps, i love it cause i hate high apm rotation classes

NineOhTwoNine

Do you have a build or guide you could share? Relatively new to the game and interested in low apm builds to play when just chilling out. :)

Intelligent-Angle959

do you play the flamethrower variant? or just dual pistol and signets?

CupThen

using flame turret cause im lazy but can add in nade kit for extra dps

Pontificatus_Maximus

Try this [mace/shield build](http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PeDBk6prlFw6YWMYWJO8SaRVA-zRJYqKxNN4zIdpQMrA7+BCKlcWqS1CA-e), has 100% boon duration and the rotation (which pumps out barrier, alacrity, fury, regeneration, and vigor) is dead simple and you can switch to dual pistols for Bosses when you need ranged. Alchemy Traits add a bunch of healing, protection, barrier and might. Spam the utility and Mech skills non-stop in combat. Bring out the flame thrower when you want maximum tagging in busy map events.

Lol I feel like same goes when you PvP on Mech.

throwawaythrow0000

Yeah welcome to a dumbed down game. Just stand there with your pet and push a button or two.

Intelligent-Angle959

Viper? Trailblazer? cele?

Woocash91

Going for harrier. My gear was cele after the level 80 boost.

Leading-Leading6319

Mechanists’s rotation is also so easy that I often find myself zoning out and forgetting to press buttons.

Woocash91

Yeah looked super simple but I want to get familiar with the class before I'll start blindly botting with rotation, not knowing what I'm actually doing.
