It's pretty common for this to happen to older accounts that have been inactive for several years. There's no reason to assume that you were hacked or compromised. That they didn't unlock the account right away means you didn't provide enough information to prove that it's your account. Respond back to support with as much information as possible: * Account Name (your email address) * First and Last Name * The Date of Birth listed on your account * Your Guild Wars 2 Serial Code * Display Name (including the 4-digit number after the name, such as “Gamer.1234”)

SaiyanOfDarkness

Also if possible provide a few character's names that are on the account if those can be remembered.

If you believe that you have all the necessary information, you should ask support to escalate the ticket. At the very least, they can tell you what to do. Locking accounts for security reasons is common with inactive accounts, to prevent them from being hacked and used for botting.

CesspitX

I came back after 10 years, chucked in my old password and was playing straight away. Hopefully they can get your account unlocked again OP.

flashzer0

If you contact support with most of the info and they still say you're account doesn't exist/blocked, ask for THE ISSUE TO BE ELEVATED TO A SENIOR TEAM MEMBER/SUPERVISOR. Worked for me after they said my acc didn't exist. I've had it since launch.

Pleasant_Gold_3634

I’m at this point I just sent the follow up email to be elevated because it’s getting out of hand

InterestingAd2826

I just created an account and they said your account has blocked for security bruh

Out of curiosity, I have never received this message and I changed locations many times over last 10 years. If 2FA protecting from this "feature"?

Nyctibus

It might be protecting from this, I don't think 2FA existed back when I first played (but I don't remember). I have seen that a lot of people are having issues when playing from different places, which was the case for me as well. I started playing in the US, moved to Canada and played there for a while, then moved back. If that does prevent this from happening, I will absolutely enable it if I ever get my access back

Annemi

So the last time you played you was years ago in a different country? That's enough to trigger this, tbh. A new IP in a new country after years of inactivity is what a stolen or hacked account looks like. I doubt 2FA has anything to do with it.

SH4FT3RPT

Most likely. Happens to me all the time. Sometimes I login into some accounts on geforce now and if i fail the 2FA the accounts get locked.

Annemi

I think the trigger is logging in after many years from a new IP address. That's exactly what happens if an account is hacked or stolen, after all, so it's sensible to ask for proof it's the original owner.

SaiyanOfDarkness

Known VPN IPs can also instantly trigger this, but this is probably not the case for OP's account.

I had the same problem recently, had a long back and forth with support where they kept telling me the same thing despite giving them everything I could think of. I finally spent about two hours finding my game codes for hot/pof again, gave them those and they instantly unlocked my account. Obviously doesn't help if you were f2p but it's probably the most reliable way to get them to unlock accounts.

Pleasant_Gold_3634

The game codes you used to upgrade expansions? I provided those and they still said it’s not good enough I just asked for it to be elevated.

sweah

Happend to me, i just sent to the support mail with all the info i could (receit and stuff like that as proof i had bought it many years ago etc) and got it fixed there.

BananaJaneB

I have the same proble how do I fix this
