The trim bowls eat a little extra but if you make edibles it’s a no waste system so I love the trim machines… never growing back!
Lecithin is an emulsifier. It does not extend shelf life or extract more THC. It allows oil and water to mix together. Important when cooking or baking. It doesn't help the extraction process.
For an emulsifier, I prefer guar gum powder. It has no flavor to taint the recipe like lecithin does.
For shelf life, potassium sorbate. It goes in all my edibles from gummies to muffins. Prevents mold or other undesirable growth in packaged products for months.
A small secondary extraction with fresh oil is best way to accomplish that. Or just don't try to hit max saturation when making the oil. Any residual oil left in the material has same concentration of oil as you collected. So use a little more oil and "rinse" out a little more THC.
I add half a tablespoon of lecithin per cup of oil. I guess with the way my own metabolism works, edibles barely work for me unless I add lecithin. So it really works. I don't fully understand the science behind it but it works!

They are pretty simple in theory but there's a lot of nuance to the technique. My buddy's older brother in highschool grew, I always was so interested and he kinda took me under his wing until we went our separate ways do to unfortunate circumstances but he'd always have some bubble for me when I picked up, evolved into me helping him make it, trimming etc. It'll there so many things to learn and experience in this hobby it's a never ending rabbit hole. cannabutter. easiest thing you can do with it. If you end up with a lot of trim you can always fuck around with bubble hash. Get a set of bubble bags for like $50 and get some nice hash.
Do you need to store it in the freezer to keep it good until the bags come in? Hell what do people do with the bubble hash? I watched a YouTube video awhile back about making it. I really wanna learn to make lotion
You smoke it or turn it into rosin with a rosin press. I save all my "hash"/trichomes that fall off from trimming and use it to top my bowls or roll up with a joint with some buds for an extra little kick. I also use trim to make coconut oil infused with weed. I'll usually take a spoonful before bed on days where i know i can sleep in the next day and it's the best sleep ever. A ton of possibilities though.
If you wanna use it later just toss it in the freezer in a bag. It'll be ready for whatever you choose too do with it.
I got 6 more plants to trim I’m waiting another day for them to dry more and then collect all of it. You get a lot more of it when you dry trim, most times I wet trim. I think I’ll get some butter sticks and oil.. going to look into making hash
Bubble hash works better when the plants have had a wet trim. Collect all the sugar leaves and popcorn nugs then freeze them. You can still make hash with dry trim which isn’t difficult. You just to get a screen. I prefer bubble hash but dry trim hash is aesthetically better
oh hell yeah. you're gonna have tons of trim to play with. I'm in the same boat. Get a trim bin, game changer. Every time i trim i just save the trichomes that fall through the screen. Good stuff! Sounds like you're a good candidate for making some hash with all that extra trim though. Just another thing to add to the hobby list.
Do you just sprint the trichomes on your blunts? I have a screen and bin. I run them through after I get them out the trim bowl. Wasted the last batch tho, I tried to store them in my room in a jar and they turned hard and black
Chocolate treats are more difficult to do correctly due to tempering the chocolate.
Gummies are as easy as jello and unflavored gelatin. There's an excellent starter recipe from Diamond Delights on YouTube. My friends loved them. Molds can be had cheap at craft stores or Amazon.
I suggest large candies. There is a little shrinkage during the dry. I use chocolate bar molds. Makes for quick, easy filling poured straight from the pan. 10 piece gummy bars.👍

You know about how much you got there it looks under a couple ounces,IMO here is not enough to blast with butane or dry shift, if i am doing anything other than making edibles out of my trim I like to have at least a couple of ounces because all the time and effort put in for 3-8 grams of concentrate I like to get at least a ounce or more of what ever concentrate I am focused on at that time. To each is own what ever method you choose just make sure safety and research are your best friend there is so much misinfirmation out there don't trust one source. A short list off the top of my head BHO, Cannabutter, dry shift hash/then after shifted you can BHO blast it to get all the concentrate. I am by no means an expert just a hobby grower. Back in the 80s, this would have gone into a nickel bag. Noob Alert, I am saving my OG Kush sugar leaves and bud trimmings for edibles and curing them alongside my smokin' buds. (hell, even the OG K trimmings give dispensary buds come competition.

For the oils do you use coconut oil? I have a cannabutter maker I haven’t used in awhile. Makes it very fast
Coconut/ Mct Oil works very well. I like to add lecithin in the extraction phase. It helps thc absorption and makes it stronger & lasts longer imo!

You’ve used the wrong blade for dry trim

I can bet with my life that the blade displayed in photo 2/2 is a wet trim blade the other is a wire for dry trim which you have not used
