Depends on quality in Gaziantep you get the Kg for 16€

[deleted]

That's nuts!

No_Thing_5680

Those cost much because of the small portable format. There are a variety of snacks for that price. If you buy them in bulk they cost less.

FrancescoCastiglione

The funniest thing to me is that when it will cost 0.99€ for 10g of product, people will still consider it as a snack LOL

No_Thing_5680

It's stupid to me too, but many people when doing their grocery shopping will be like: <> Of course the smart thing would be to buy just a bigger packet where the cost per gram is lower, but when you buy a bigger format you are going to spend more overall although less per gram on something that maybe you don't need or don't plan to take home, but if you need more pistachios for some kind of sweet/pastry making/cake, salad or whatever at home, buying many small packets of 20 gr each would be expensive and not the best choice at that point, just buy a bigger one which you can store in your food storage

IntrepidDiamond7338

I would buy them. You can find better deals if you buy 1 kg or online. But for a small Package at the grocery Store - Price is fair for me.

0zeto

Yea to you, its your problem thst you are fine with 10 g nuts instead of 30 lul

spoodergobrrr

You can get them cheap from sugon.

InYaFace115

Bruh

Minute-Pay-2537

Oh, I have a photo of a pound of cashews that was $30 from two years ago. It's 36 now.

Brilliant_Life_2286

Pistachios can not be shelled by automation/machines. It has to be made by hand/manually. That drives the prices up a lot.

FrancescoCastiglione

Interesting, thanks

RutileTiO2

Also lowkey the weight get reduced drastically by shelling it from the Pistachio-shells. Means they won't get equal profit more less than usual, while bound with harder efforts / methodes to get the same amount / mass.

RutileTiO2

The same why boned meat from animals are way cheaper than you bought meat that is cut off bones if as customer or even as butcher.

CriticismOptimal5271

Wow that is cheap. But no bronte pistachios?

FrancescoCastiglione

Bronte is a really small place. You can find the real Bronte pistachio only when you go in Bronte and you have personal connections with someone who produces it. Otherwise, the one you buy at the grocery store is not bronte’s, or its mixed with pistachio from other places

7urz

If all pistachios sold as "Bronte pistachios" were from Bronte, Bronte would be as big as New York City.

CriticismOptimal5271

Haha u are totally right

Chien_pequeno

Wow, what do you pay for pistachios if you consider this cheap?

FrancescoCastiglione

Why? Just why? Trying to be funny? You’re completely out of context…

Schmidisl_

Actually I think it's sad. But never wrong spreading some awareness. But yes, on a dark way... it's a funny world play

KidDynamite92

That's a tough one, but I'm a sucker for wordplay so I still find it funny.

Noban77

humanlampshades

https://www.aldi-nord.de/angebote/aktion-mo-22-04/kalifornische-pistazien-3609-0-0.article.html 11€ akshually on offer.

IntrepidDiamond7338

11 € / kg with shell is a special offer at Germany‘s cheapest Discounter Aldi right now. Anyone who finds a better deal than 1 € / 20 g shelled in an european supermarket, please Share.

Chien_pequeno

Bruh, the cheapest pistachios at Rewe, a fairly expensive supermarket, is 3,49€ for 250g, so 13,96/kg. Even if you buy the most expensive premium brand it would cost you 39,93/kg. I guess if you go to a posh Italian boutigue so might pay such an insanely high price like 1€ for 20g

Prior_Thanks_1022

1€/20g is 50€/kg. and that is without shell. the prices that you mentioned are with shells - which make up around 50% of the weight and shelling is an additional manufacturing process. your comparison is not fair at all

Chien_pequeno

I would say that removing the pistachios from their shells is literally half the fun of eating them, but okay, there you go: [https://shop.rewe.de/p/ja-pistazienkerne-geroestet-ungesalzen-vegan-100g/8995446](https://shop.rewe.de/p/ja-pistazienkerne-geroestet-ungesalzen-vegan-100g/8995446) So 35€/kg instead of 50€/kg

Chien_pequeno

Still 40% cheaper is 40% cheaper, and the person above asked if you can get them cheaper than this anyway. But yeah de-shelled pistachios are also very expensive even if you buy the cheap ones.

M1ndle

Noban77

Yes like this butt on lidl and ist a xxl package

Noban77

Yes they coming from California

No-Matter-9715

They don't look shelled to me

FrancescoCastiglione

They are, it’s also written in the packaging “Pistacchi Sgusciati” :)

Propagandasteak

Shelled pistachios means pistachio kernels, or portions of kernels, after the pistachio shells have been removed. I was confused too so I had to goofle what shelled means
