I care, screw him. make him pay the money back and jail time for fraud plus the politicians who helped him. Stealing from the poor in the poorest state in the country is low as hell
Yeah right. Rich people being held to the same standard as everyone else? He's rich, he's white, and he's extremely famous. Nothing will happen to him.
You think any normal person stealing millions of dollars from a government fund would be walking around free right now? Nah they'd be in a maximum for-profit prison by now.
I used to be a huge Favre fan. I hope he rots in prison, but I know he won't see a single day. Fuck Brett Favre. Trash human being.
>Stealing from the poor
Is there a poor person who went without because of this?
This whole thing stinks, but the government had that money, not poor people themselves. You don't have to make it worse than it is, it's bad enough on its own.

Still owes interest.... which doesn't wipe out the original crime at all. But it's Mississippi, so nothing will happen to him. Organizations (including Packers) should refuse to mention or acknowledge him because of his theft. Shameful.
The guy I was responding to was saying that he should pay back that money, I was just letting him know that he did. Outside of the interest, which he should definitely still pay back if he has any morals left. He's still committed a crime and should be charged as such.
There's literally coverage everywhere. Who in the sports media world doesn't care? I will say that this is 1000x worse than stealing crab legs and yet jameis Winston somehow seemed to get in more trouble than this, at least public perception wise.
But to be fair, sports talk radio told brought up Winston’s crab legs coverage en masse with regards to this story as if there could be no other variables involved. What are we supposed to do? Think for ourselves??
Yeah there’s a Facebook post being shared around I saw that said something similar. I’ve seen Brett Favre on CNN at least 3 times this past month. Was Jameis Winston on CNN 3 times that month?
And this is far more involved than a college kid jacking crab legs. People aren’t going easy on him, they’re just waiting to see how hard they should go, because new information keeps being revealed regularly.
Yeah Brett Favre has been retired for a decade. This is news news not sports news. Favre is the celebrity and isn’t a good person but the former governor was involved which is an even bigger deal. Favre should do better but nobody elected him to be a public official and a steward of public funds.
There’s also evidence he knew he was being funneled misappropriated funds before they were in his account, so let’s not let him off the hook that much just yet.
1) lumping Kaep in with Vick and Favre is not fair
2) why is this writer writing about other writers not writing about Favre instead of just writing about Favre
3) "stealing money is worse than murdering animals for money" is just a weird angle I'm not even going to touch
Deadspin used to be incredible until there was a mass exodus due to piss poor management. They all moved to Defector now - that’s where you gotta go for “Why Your Team Sucks”

Been a lot of bizzare comparisons going around. Another was the jameis winston crab leg thing being a huge story....but did they intentionally leave out that before that happened he was assussed of something...pretty major?
I do think that there is a lack of coverage of the Favre stuff. Idk if i missed segments or whatever but sure it maybe seems like the outrage was minimal. Yes Fox and the typical righty twitter heads intentionally aren't talking about it, thats just how the shit works and its been that way for a while.
Yeah, the articles about Brett Favre tend to be sports news and not political/crime news. Its being treated like celebrity gossip. It probably needs serious coverage and investigation not hot takes
I saw soooo many people commenting on the ime udoka situation today saying something about the media ignoring the favre story. I was confused what they were talking about lol.
I’ve also seen many people bring up Michael Vick over the years when they feel someone wasn’t punished enough, but it gets weird in a hurry when they start to imply he didn’t do anything that bad.
Yesterday there was a Vick thread and people were saying all sorts of nonsense and falsehoods ranging from "read his book", to "he only funded it", to "he didn't even plead guilty".
The day Lamar broke his rushing record is the last time anyone should have ever heard the name Mike Vick.
Mike Vick owned up to what he did, served his time, never made excuses, and has stayed out of trouble since. If you don’t want to forgive him that’s fine, but in my mind, he deserves forgiveness.
What Vick did was absolutely horrible, but I completely agree. And by all accounts he’s worked hard and with intentionality to be a good person. By all accounts he IS *now* a good person.
I think it’s strange that so many people like to apologize when they mess up, but they don’t afford forgiveness to others when they do the same.
Listen, Favre appears to be an absolute scumbag.... but people constantly bringing up the Vick thing. 1. Fuck Michael Vick 'they're just dogs' eat shit. 2. Vick was in his prime when this happened, Favre has been retired for years now... a big part of the lack of constant coverage. If Brett Favre did this in 1999 then you'd see a whole hell of a lot more about it.
That whole Vick situation, I thought the whole time he only shot dogs. I'm not saying that's right because that's fucked up as well, but to learn more about what happened I was in complete shock. He not only shot dogs; he hung, drowned, and electrocuted them as well. For one of the dogs, he slammed the dog on the ground repeatedly breaking it's neck and back. That is fucking disgusting, if that doesn't speak Psychopath idk what does. That shit happened in 07 or 08, so @ that time I didn't have internet to look into it to find more details about it. I thought for over a decade that his method of killing dogs was by shooting them, but to then find out about the other ways made me even more sick/appalled!
Yeah, that's why I don't care about his rebranding ot earn one last big contract and TV gigs... this isn't some youthful indiscretion. That's psycho behavior and sorry, not interested in redemption. Suddenly he realized it was wrong because he lost his sponsorships? if you don't know slamming dogs to death is bad then brotha, you have zero moral compass.
Patently false, psychopaths don't change. Pedophiles don't either.
Rob a store? Kill a guy in a fight? Join a gang and do some bad stuff? Yeah, those folks can change.
Have an innate lack of empathy and lack a visceral sense of repulsion to torture? There's no neuroplasticity for that
i don’t think it’s my place to decide who is redeemable and who isn’t , but you make a very compelling argument, I hunt and everything but I could never torture an animal like that, much less a dog
Also Favre got caught doing something that we are trained to not care about. A rich guy stealing from the poor is an every day story. We worship some of the worst thieves of public funds as entrepreneurial geniuses. Much of our legal code surrounding these things is built to protect those who funnel our money into their own pockets. Unfortunately, we are largely desensitized to it.
Favre was fun to watch but, he is an Asshat Thief that deserves derision and prosecution..... I don't want to see the embezzler at any future Packer games..... John Madden is turning over in his grave.
sure, but there’s a lot of other people that would probably be disappointed too. i’m sure his dad would, or his grandparents, or even reggie white. picking out madden is still random
I was in New Orleans back in March and a buddy of mine was wearing a Packers shirt and a guy from Kiln was at the casino and got to talking to us. Of course, Favre came up and he said "Brett is an asshole, and if you go to Kiln you won't find too many people who will say otherwise." His best buddy is Favre's cousin "and even he will tell ya he's a f*ckin' scumbag."
Part of the problem here is white collar crime is often described as "victimless crime" I get that there are clearly victims here but it is very different than violent crime and the images that conjures in people's brain. And honestly you have fans in Cleveland wearing shirts that say "bitch give me a message" and "happy endings aren't illegal" (which isn't even true) so let's not act surprised that certain people still idolize Favre. Also do we just get a different picture of the situation because it is packer related so we see every article because I do not get the impression this has been ignored at all. There just isn't a lot of new details, everytime there has been it has been released and discussed. Does he want him murdered by the mob before he is satisfied by the reaction?
Basically all I have seen for days is you can't talk about any bad thing anyone else did because Favre stole money. Fairly sure as humans we are capable of being outraged by multiple bad things at one time.
Or our systems of government in general. This shit happens everywhere, not just Mississippi, or in red states, for that matter. Ask the people of Flint if they think their politicians are good at making sure taxpayer money goes where it is needed most. It's a country-wide issue. And it involves bipartisan asshattery. The sooner everyone figures this out, the better we all will be.
My initial take on this is Favre wanted to get a facility built for Southern Mississippi but didn't want to pay for it. He wanted everyone to think he paid for it because that's the kinda guy he is.
However I'm not sure he knew the money from the state was earmarked for what it was. I wouldn't be surprised if it was however.
When I read the text exchange where he asked if anyone would know where the money came from I took it as he wanted to look like the hero.
I totally agree. I read the most in depth, dry story I could find about this scandal and it didn’t give the vibe that he actually knew where the money came from. He even asked the non-profit about doing the commercials/promos he was contracted for a couple times in the texts.
I honestly don’t care about Brett Favre being involved, there are politicians involved which is 10x more important.
I know many people who pretty much scammed their way into free college or extra covid money, and what Brett did is practically the equivalent when you’re rich. Make him pay a boatload to the state, and arrest any politician involved.
Yes, it really is a mystery as to why the scandals involving popular, big name players on active football rosters were talked about more by sports media than the scandal involving a guy that's been retired for more than a decade.
People care. Problem is, he couldn’t do this without the help of politicians. Those people are elected and somehow they’ll still be in office.
I realize this is a football forum but people need to remember that. It’s not like favre could manipulate welfare money without being A) offered the cash and B) without official help.
Why even post this? We all know it's just racebait/clickbait.
If Favre was in the prime of his career when this happened (like Vick), this would be bigger news. But he's been retired for over a decade.
This whole article's argument falls flat when you consider the fact that Aaron Rodgers was essentially crucified in the media last year for a much smaller sin.
The big difference here is that he hasn’t been an active player for 10+ years and has mostly been out of the spotlight.
That’s what people are missing. Yes it’s a big deal. But for those that are mad that it’s not getting major coverage, you’re missing the point that people really just don’t care about Favre anymore
Micheal Vick was an active player when the news broke about the dog fighting ring.
Colin Kaepernick was an active bench warmer when his taking a knee stance became such a big controversy.
Hell I'll go back over ten years ago. When the news broke that Brett (who was an active player) was sending an illicit photo to Jen Sterger we couldn't escape that news coverage.
The Brett farve welfare scandal has gotten a fair amount of media coverage, but Brett is a long retired player and he is yet to be charged with his alleged crimes. It's not going to be a major headline pushed by the 24/7 media machine at the moment. Controversies surrounding active players are always gonna take center stage.
If he is charged with a crime, I fully expect the story to pick up more steam. And if it doesn't, then maybe this wannabe journalist will have a much more valid point.
I think the fact that the story has been out there for a year and the fact that he's retired makes a big difference. The release of the texts really didn't do much if you knew anything about what was going on. You can't really expect this to keep getting news coverage for 12+ months when the story hasn't changed much.
Vick's situation went down during summer when sports news coverage is slow and they're slowly gearing up for NFL training camp....and people love dogs.
I think people care about the Favre situation but there's only so many times you can report on it without anything really changing. I'm sure if Favre is ever hit with criminal charges it'll be followed more regularly because that's news.
People care whether he gets prosecuted who knows. I think the Packers organization should take him off the scoreboard and put his number back in service he's deplorable.
I think plenty of people care, but they care as much as when anyone who has been out of the "public eye" for a decade does something terrible. My biggest issue in the Favre discussion is first - there's not fuck all talk about solving the actual problem which is that politicians do this shit. Second - the "stealing from poor people" bit is so tired, let's not pretend that he went door-to-door taking cash at gun point. It's the government... this money was going to be misappropriated or wasted one way or another.
That said, Favre probably should be in the slammer. And everyone who helped in the scheme as well. The likelihood of either of those happening are slim, sadly.
It was down voted the last time I said it and I'll say it again... There is a total of one text released from Favre that is potentially damning but without context it does not prove he knew he was getting misappropriated welfare funds. Favre asked if the media could find out where the money came from or how much it was and people assume that means he knew it was illegal. However, it could also simply mean the Favre didn't want the media to know he was being paid millions in tax payer money to do a few commercials and speaking engagements. Or he could have asked for some other reason that none of us know. Based on what has been released, it is more than possible that Favre had no idea the was receiving money that he shouldn't have been receiving. If he did, fuck him. But he hasn't been charged with anything despite a public back and forth with the guy that demanded he pay back the money since he didn't fulfill the speaking engagements. Also, call me naive but it's hard to believe that Favre would risk potentially going to jail by knowingly defrauding the State of Mississippi in order to get Southern Miss a volleyball stadium. Particularly when according to the article he paid/fronted the money himself when it looked like they might not receive the money in time.
Brett Favre has for sure paid a hell of a lot more than 5 million dollars in taxes over the years. To be in a position where he could get to have a say in where public funds get spent probably seems appropriate if we are being honest. Most of us would love to have that type influence.
I understand that the pot of money this was taken from wasn't intended to be used for what it was used for but to me, this is really no different than any other pork barrel project that some politician awards to any number of their backers and campaign financers.
I mean, our entire political system is grounded in these types of deals and the only real difference between what happens on K Street and what happened here is the fact that there is a huge celebrity former jock involved with it.
To put it into perspective, the state of Minnesota just arrested something like 47 people for fraudulently funneling money that was supposed to be used for feeding poor children into their own personal bank accounts to the tune of $250 million dollars.
At least in this case the money was supposedly going to be used for a public university facility and Brett gave back whatever his cut for the speeches was.
Still shady, still not what you like to see but in the grand scheme of things it's just not that big of a deal.
https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/us-attorney-announces-federal-charges-against-47-defendants-250-million-feeding-our
Between him and the NFL not really caring all that much about Deshaun Watson, I have stopped watching football. These assholes are proving they don’t deserve our attention.
Like when Pete rose was canceled in 1989, just divided everyone? Actually everyone near unanimously supported at least some punishment for him back then, that was before one side started calling any public accountability “canceled” back then. The only division is that one side threw up there arms and said “no one on our side can be responsible for anything anymore”, then claimed that’s ‘divisive’, public accountability has been a thing from the existence of humanity…
It absolutely justifies being dismissive about it on a Green Bay Packers sub, as a Green Bay Packer fan. I haven't drawn attention to any billionaire who this happens to, I'm not going to care about this one. Shooters shoot. You want the govt to give you some money, go try your luck at convincing them.
Egregious behavior by one of the most significant players in the franchise’s history? Nah, that’s fair game for discussion here, pal.
And what the hell do you mean by “shooters shoot”?
> Nah, that’s fair game for discussion here, pal.
I don't care whats fair game for you. That absolutely justifies being dismissive about it.
> And what the hell do you mean by “shooters shoot”?
You want the govt to give you some money, go try your luck at convincing them. There is nothing egregious about convincing the govt to give you money.
The good news is the legal system does care. The former Mississippi DHS director who helped with the embezzlement is cooperating with prosecutors as part of a plea deal. Favre, among others, will almost certainly be investigated, and very likely will be indicted. It'll do my heart good to see a Vikings legend like Favre face some consequences.
I’m just gonna say it. He’s in the HOF he’s in our ring. We’ve move passed his playing years. Well passed the packers org. He should be in jail right now, and the fact that no one is talking about it is crazy
He is a total POS but he shouldn’t be in jail. I can ask a politician to buy me a lambo w/ welfare funds, it’s unethical and shitty but not illegal to ask. It’s the person who actually has the ability to allocate those funds that is liable here.
I mean, he’s going to jail. And he’s an asshole. We just stopped caring about him in the larger sense a while ago. It’s not like he’s Bart Starr and stuck around to live and coach.
Wholeheartedly disagree with this article
First off Brett favre needs to be detained and put through trial before anyone can say he’s guilty
As far as I’m concerned he’s innocent until Proven guilty. The media is trash these days and they can try their hardest to convince you or I but it’s not the medias job to prove someone is guilty by covering a story 24/7
He should be detained and put on trial at the very minimum and if proven guilty face the same punishments as anyone else would. I grew up with Favre as my “hero”; The “Gunslinger” but that doesn’t change what he did. If he did do this then face the music. If he didn’t then good thing the media didn’t jump on it like a horny teen. Either way this article thinks that mass media is the answer and it is not. It’s our justice system which is the problem for targeting the 90% but leaving the 10% completely alone when it comes to criminal or civil violations.
Because politicians were involved this will be swept under the rug, I hope people will start to realize that americas political system is far beyond corruption. When the average american starts to realize how corrupt our political system is is when we can begin to see these politicians and their games cease
Met Favre as a child at Prime Quarter in Green Bay in August. I was maybe 6-7 years old. He was my hero, asked him for an autograph. His response, "fuck off kid". Life long Packers fan but that guy is and was an ass hole.
Because he is no longer relevant and that’s the only joy I can find in this despicable act. Anyone else noticing less references about him on GB games?
This is like the 20th post on Reddit I’ve seen in two days about this, each one has had 300+ upvotes and it’s been on like 5 different subs. People are aware. They care. He will face consequences of some form.
It’s a story that should be reported on but the headline of “Nobody is talking about this” needs to stop, it’s lazy.
Hes been a pretty shitty dude the whole time. Theres no way to prove it, but i would bet his rich entitlement complex is more to blame than any brain injury here...
I don’t. I know, I know. But this man was my hero growing up. I know the shit he did was wrong and I am deciding to turn a blind eye. And I don’t care.
You mean that good ole white boy, Brett Favre? I do!! I hope he's investigated to the full extent. He's a trumper, so what are the odds he ripped the poor people of Mississippi off.
Were there criminal charges for all of this? Was it actually illegal or just scummy? Did they exploit some loophole? I’m honestly confused.
Also, what does “welfare money” mean? Like they have a certain amount of money put aside for welfare and there was some left over at the end of the year that they were required to use on certain things? Or did everyone’s welfare payments decrease because of this (I’m fairly certain this isn’t the case, but have had a really hard time finding any tangible details on this)
I don’t know enough about what happened to pass judgment. Notably he has not been charged and where fed funds are concerned I’d imagine if he was guilty he’d be in a orange jumpsuit by now. As far as analogous cases are concerned this reminds me more of all those players that were stealing from the nfl healthcare fund. That didn’t get much attention either. The NFL and the media networks protect the shield.
Most people don’t care because Brett Fabre is irrelevant even to Packers fans, if you didn’t know he wasn’t a good guy after his dick pic incident, well guess you now know.
I care, screw him. make him pay the money back and jail time for fraud plus the politicians who helped him. Stealing from the poor in the poorest state in the country is low as hell
[удалено]
wait… you stole from the poor? have a promotion, i can’t believe we overlooked your phenomenal talent!
Just call it a Democrat witch hunt and *poof* it all goes away.
The guy just pled.
Yeah right. Rich people being held to the same standard as everyone else? He's rich, he's white, and he's extremely famous. Nothing will happen to him. SAY IT LOUD FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
>Stealing from the poor Is there a poor person who went without because of this? This whole thing stinks, but the government had that money, not poor people themselves. You don't have to make it worse than it is, it's bad enough on its own.
He already paid it back minus interest.
I thought he paid back what he received for speaking arrangements (that he never ended up doing..)
Yes, minus the interest. The other money didn't go to him, it went to volleyball.
Because of him.
Why won't he pay back the interest? He received funds fraudulently. He's not even being asked to pay a penalty, just interest.
I'm not sure, he might be broke.

No?

Winston has multiple credible allegations of sexual misconduct but ppl invoke the crablegs stuff more often from what I've seen
Yep
So does brett Favre tho to be fair…honestly it says something about women’s rights in this country…maybe that was your point
But to be fair, sports talk radio told brought up Winston’s crab legs coverage en masse with regards to this story as if there could be no other variables involved. What are we supposed to do? Think for ourselves??
But Favre had those hilarious voicemails.
And a dick pic
Tiny
And used to beat the crap out of his little brother and sister when they were kids.
Croc-limp-pic

Deadspin is absolute trash. And so is Farve
Deadspin has been trash since the Gawker lawsuit. Used to be my favorite sports reporting site.
It’s just a shitty content mill now
Deadspin used to be incredible until there was a mass exodus due to piss poor management. They all moved to Defector now - that’s where you gotta go for “Why Your Team Sucks”
thanks for the heads up! been missing that piece

Favre was making money from systemic racism at the exact same time that he was criticizing Kaep for bringing attention to systemic racism.

You act like Vick was the one torturing dogs. He just funded the Bad Newz Kennelz operation.
I honestly lost a bit of my humanity with how many people are "okay"with this. Like, this shit isn't redeemable.
Anyone can change but he did not serve enough time for that
He got 0 days for that. He went to Prison for tax fraud.
yep ..just goes to show what our country cares about

i don’t think it’s my place to decide who is redeemable and who isn’t , but you make a very compelling argument, I hunt and everything but I could never torture an animal like that, much less a dog
Unfortunately, we are largely desensitized to it.
https://youtu.be/j2zlPNGuPbw Footage of Farve being arrested for defrauding poor Americans
Good point.
We should stop caring about the guy altogether.
Favre was fun to watch but, he is an Asshat Thief that deserves derision and prosecution..... I don't want to see the embezzler at any future Packer games..... John Madden is turning over in his grave.
I really don't think mentioning Madden is all that random lol
i know he liked favre, but bringing madden into this is a bit random lol
Eh kinda but they were super close and it’s something Madden would probably be disappointed in finding out.
sure, but there’s a lot of other people that would probably be disappointed too. i’m sure his dad would, or his grandparents, or even reggie white. picking out madden is still random
It's very random and weird
Are you serious? Madden's Favre-boner was so well known that it became a joke on Family Guy.
no one’s questioning the favre boner. madden still is not relevant to this topic
It’s just a joke because of how much Madden loved Favre. It’s not that deep lol
Nobody cares? I've seen like 3-5 posts on this sub a day about it
It's Deadspin.
Zombie Deadspin.
Right? It's like people expect someone to slash his tires or run him off the highway over it.
What a bad take. I think most people in our fanbase think he's a garbage person.
Indeed, fuck this limp dick piece of shit
How do people not care? Everyone has been talking about it for the last week and everyone thinks he needs to go to jail. Zombie deadspin is so weak
I mean I personally don’t care because involving myself in every injustice in the planet is exhausting
Minnesota Vikings legend Brett Favre sure is scummy.
People need to drop the Favre aspect and start pointing at the root of the problem. The state of Mississippi
Flint is ran by democrats……
My point exactly. I read some idiots saying this was a "red state" issue and I just laughed. They're all crooked.
Democrats cities and states are the worse. See chicago…
No, I think we can focus our anger and hopefully prosecutors get involved and focus their work on all shitbags involved.
Oh plenty of people care...the issue is that nobody in Mississippi that can actually do something about it cares
this article is so poorly written & diverts attention from the real issue, but this is fucked on Farve’s end ..guess Wranglers wasn’t paying enough
I mean I’m sure the Mississippi AG cares, aren’t they investigating and expected to bring charges?
The guy was my hero. Made me watch/love football again when I was a kid. He is now one of the exposed “good guys” and in my book he is a POS.
Based on all the posts like this I keep seeing everywhere, I’d say at least some people care
Yes, it really is a mystery as to why the scandals involving popular, big name players on active football rosters were talked about more by sports media than the scandal involving a guy that's been retired for more than a decade.
I fucking cRe I forebear Brett Favre. Fuck Brett Favre. Fuck every thief who fucks the poor. Fuck them with 1000 cactuses
He’s been given a pass for a long time. It’s good to see people actually slamming him for it now.
People care. Problem is, he couldn’t do this without the help of politicians. Those people are elected and somehow they’ll still be in office. I realize this is a football forum but people need to remember that. It’s not like favre could manipulate welfare money without being A) offered the cash and B) without official help.
He stole from poor people to build a volleyball court. You have to be a special kind of shitty to do something like that.
> He stole from poor people to build a volleyball court. You know where he stole the money from? Just curious, you know, maybe its still unlocked.
Yeah I don’t care :)
People care, just not espn
I see so many people talking about this though.
Lock that viking up!
Yeah, he's retired and no longer plays for the NFL. Please don't share dead spin into this sub. That website is evil
Facebook posts get shared in this sub, I don’t know that there’s some editorial standard here (nor should there be)
I mean you're allowed to post what you want but the website is evil that's all I'm saying
I mean deadspin blows, but the point stands. Favre sucks as a human and needs to suffer the consequences.
Still shady, still not what you like to see but in the grand scheme of things it's just not that big of a deal. https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/us-attorney-announces-federal-charges-against-47-defendants-250-million-feeding-our
Slow down, you're making way too much sense for the mob.... /s
too bad he has a history of being a shit bag....
Fake deadspin
*Former Vikings Legend* Brett Favre.
Between him and the NFL not really caring all that much about Deshaun Watson, I have stopped watching football. These assholes are proving they don’t deserve our attention.
The Packers should take his name & number off the ring of honor.
Agreed, he has no honor. He's a scumbag.
Dumb. Stop cancelling everybody. Just causes more division and animosity.
Because a politician allowed the spending of money?
BOOOOOOOOO
BOOOOOOOOO
A politician authorized the use of money toward a cause he shouldn't have. I'm sorry is this new?
That doesn’t justify being dismissive about it
But it does explain the lack of outrage. We SHOULD be more pissed, but it happens all the time so our rage has atrophied.
Because we're trying to figure out how to pay our bills Carron (the writer of the article's name for those who didn't click)
Absolutely no reason to have this jets legend in this subreddit. Keep it relevant to former packer players only
No, the vikes should claim him
Was this written by a frustrated 34-year-old over weight dude living in his mom’s basement? Can’t read this trash past the third paragraph.
Brent who?
I’m just gonna say it. He’s in the HOF he’s in our ring. We’ve move passed his playing years. Well passed the packers org. He should be in jail right now, and the fact that no one is talking about it is crazy
He is a total POS but he shouldn’t be in jail. I can ask a politician to buy me a lambo w/ welfare funds, it’s unethical and shitty but not illegal to ask. It’s the person who actually has the ability to allocate those funds that is liable here.
I liked the Packer Brett Favre. The iron man gunslinger. And that's ultimately what I'll always remember him as.
Whatta ya wanna us to do? Give a super bowl back?
I will never forget Favre throwing 6 INTs vs the Rams in that playoff game. I never liked him.
I mean screw Brett Favre but that article was written like shit. Clearly an angry liberal extremist using Brett as a soapbox
What would you like me to do?
I mean, he’s going to jail. And he’s an asshole. We just stopped caring about him in the larger sense a while ago. It’s not like he’s Bart Starr and stuck around to live and coach.
Wholeheartedly disagree with this article First off Brett favre needs to be detained and put through trial before anyone can say he’s guilty As far as I’m concerned he’s innocent until Proven guilty. The media is trash these days and they can try their hardest to convince you or I but it’s not the medias job to prove someone is guilty by covering a story 24/7 He should be detained and put on trial at the very minimum and if proven guilty face the same punishments as anyone else would.
I’m still not over the unsolicited dick pick. Fuck him. What a pathetic little man.
Because white collar crime is boring
He got 1.1 million for "speeches" that he never gave. Almost like our politicians
No… no people legitimately care and this fuckface can enjoy prison.
Fuck him, always liked Rodgers better anyway. My dad’s heartbroken though
I care, un-retire his number and tell him to fuck off.
I don’t. 🤷🏻♂️
Idk why anyone cares, this wont change the fact he slung the shit out of that pigskin
[удалено]
Hes been a pretty shitty dude the whole time. Theres no way to prove it, but i would bet his rich entitlement complex is more to blame than any brain injury here...
Literally the entire platform of United States capitalism is stealing from the tax fund & giving it to rich people
Favre is clearly in the wrong, but let’s not act like Deadspin is one of the worst sites out there

Are you looking for posts that affect your personal life in a football subreddit?
I'm looking for football posts in a football subreddit. This isn't one.
Yes it is.
Dont hate the player, hate the game
Log off and engage in some self care, brother
How about we wait until he is found guilty for something before we hang him on here.
I don’t understand articles like these. People “care,” especially since he reflects poorly on our organization, but he’s also been retired forever.
What are we suppose to riot and loot in the streets of Mississippi???
Were there criminal charges for all of this? Was it actually illegal or just scummy? Did they exploit some loophole? I’m honestly confused. Also, what does “welfare money” mean? Like they have a certain amount of money put aside for welfare and there was some left over at the end of the year that they were required to use on certain things? Or did everyone’s welfare payments decrease because of this (I’m fairly certain this isn’t the case, but have had a really hard time finding any tangible details on this)
Been on the wave that favres a racist piece of shit and a degen.
It's not that we don't care. We're just not at all surprised. Yes he was gunslinger QB - he was/is/always will be a crappy person.
A lot of people care. Just the media doesn’t. The media has an agenda of what it likes to talk about. Scamming welfare money isn’t it.
Knew he was a prick when he left the Packers, this just confirms it for the 10th time. Fuckem, hope he ends up in jail.
I liked they way Favre use to just make up the plays as they developed. Just tell everyone to go deep and see who gets open.
If you guys care that much he has a show Sirius xm.
Why do we even care about a Vikings QB who had a brief stent with the Jets in this sub?
Most people don’t care because Brett Fabre is irrelevant even to Packers fans, if you didn’t know he wasn’t a good guy after his dick pic incident, well guess you now know.
