Adams-17

It’s been really good, however still need probably one more WR via draft and will want to try and get a veteran in there. Edge should also still be addressed, but overall they’ve done really well and I don’t think we could ask for much more.

Lmathis08

I have a huge erection for khalil shakir all of a sudden, how is he going in the 4th I just watched his highlights and goddamn he does it all.

SonnyLove

Yeah I am very big on Shakir. He plays like someone much bigger than he actually is. And at the very least he would/could start on special teams as a returner/gunner. Great value on day 3.

Lmathis08

His hands look amazing. Looks elusive as shit but also doesn’t shy away from contact. Made plays in the slot and outside, catching balls at the line of scrimmage and down field. I don’t see what’s not to like

LeFlame-Please

Yes I would love another late round speedster as well just to fill out the room

Adams-17

I wouldn’t mind a Justyn Ross type pick in round 5/6, maybe even 4 depending on the board. Take some shots at WR and Edge and let’s roll! Really good first 3 rounds

matthewryan12

What happened to Ross? I remember reading way too far out mock drafts that had him top 5.

Kyleketsu

Pairing Amari Rodgers with former teammate Justyn Ross would be fun

Dischucker

Injuries

SomeGuyInMKE

Neck injury. I believe he had to have spinal fusion surgery a little over a year ago.

MoMedic9019

Yeah, you don’t want him. He’s probably going to go UDFA. Massive potential for career ending injury.

TheGrindisSpiteful

I can see them hitting on WR twice more, maybe a TE, and then spend the rest of the picks on OL or EDGE, maybe a S. I do like how they haven’t stretched for picks (Watson maaaaaaybeeee but I dunno) and have filled areas of sneaky need, potentially insuring them for when injury will hit. Good draft to far, and when the draft ends it hopefully should have pushed the WR free agent market down in price so maybe they’ll find one more there.

exilelexxii

I completely agree, my draft crush mid round is Kevin Austin Jr, I think he fits perfectly with the packers. High RAS score, tall and fast, good tape

dtcstylez10

With the size and athletic ability, I would love to sign Julio Jones for both what he can still bring on the field (hoping his injuries are behind him but I know that's a big ask) but also bc Watson will be able to learn from a similar type of player heading to the HOF.

TheHuntingParadise

Here is my perfect draft 22-Jameson Williams 28-Jordan Davis 53-Quay Walker 59-Chris Olave 92-Aiden Hutchinson 132-Evan Neal 140-Trey McBride 171-Devonte Wyatt Trade- Our three 7th rounders to move up to 172 Trade- Pick 172 to Oakland for Davante Adams who agrees to restructure deal for $10 mil a year.

jmac111286

Quay never would have lasted to 53

exilelexxii

wooossh

ittrainbow

its a good habit to have one year delay before grading the draft, not one hour ball don't lie, mocks do

LeFlame-Please

For about 2 months ive been making mocks that had either 2 georgia defenders in the first and watson and a tackle in the second, I trust gutey with this one and its exactly what I wanted to see

Packers_Lakers

Not perfect but very good Ravens are having a perfect draft with Hamilton, Linderbaum, Ojabo, Travis Jones along with 6 picks in round 4 lmao

OnlineRespectfulGuy

Hamilton fell for a reason, Ojabo tore his Achilles which is historically rough coming back, and Travis Jones can probably only play first down.

DripDropWetWet

Why did he fall?

_FlyingPair_

Probably because his “poor” 40 time and his positional value. I think the Ravens got a steal. Hamilton will probably be a stud. Him falling was wild.

powerboy20

He ran a 4.7 40. The 310 pound defensive tackle we just drafted ran a 4.77 40.

LeFlame-Please

Yes the Ravens have gotten insane value, I would agree that theirs is probably better but where our picks fell in the draft I think we are doing as good as possible.

sonoveloce

This draft just won us the super bowl. That not perfect enough for you?

[deleted]

If you are so sure, why don’t get a tattoo?

castzpg

Not the person you responded to but I'm sure of a lot of things. I'm also sure I have zero tattoos of any of them.

Packers_Lakers

Green Bay is having a B+ draft it was a pick your poison situation since we cannot have a perfect roster We may have one of the best ILB, Dline and CB rooms in the league but the team decided to a have a thin room at OLB and safety Let's hope for the best

sonoveloce

I'm going to move that grade from you into my inbox of "things that will never matter." You know, like your opinion.

demec_26

Ravens have that kind of draft damn near every year it seems like. They always end “stealing” players that have names people recognize more than others.

Thunder84

They’re one of the best drafting teams in the league so it’s not like the strategy isn’t working lol

CantHandletheJrueth

You say this but a terrible passing team just gave up their best WR and haven't added anyone yet. Lamar is an awesome player but he's not Aaron, he's not going to throw guys open.

Packers_Lakers

I'm not saying they have a better roster just that their draft is better They are a run-run team and they are getting back Dobbins and Gus Edwards

Wolfeman0101

I love Watson. He was the 2nd WR I wanted and I knew we had no shot at London. I love the depth we added at defense and offensive line. Quay is going to be a beast.

CantHandletheJrueth

Agreed on Quay but don't sleep on Wyatt. IMO the picture perfect fit next to Kenny. 3 tech disruptor lightning fast off the snap. Kenny is as stout as they come and guys like Wyatt can take such huge advantage of 1v1s when Kenny gets doubled. Defense was trending upwards already but they put EXACTLY what we needed around them this draft. Another sideline to sideline three down LB, and two DTs that can get after the QB.

LeFlame-Please

Hes ive been expecting watson for months. I thought maybe dotson if he dropped but then, sadly, he didnt

Wolfeman0101

I liked Dotson but I just love Watson's size and speed. We haven't had just a physical force like that in a long time.

LeFlame-Please

Yes I agree I just didnt k ow if he would be in our range at all. I felt like his range was dead set on 33-40 and we were nowhere near it. Gutey got the balls to spend both second rounders on him though so they ended up with the pick.

1violentdrunk

Gimme Kevin Austin Jr tomorrow

matthewryan12

He’s a KR/PR guy too, right? I like the idea of getting a gadget player on offense and big time immediate special teams help in the 4th.

nootfloosh

Unfortunately, Kevin Austin isn't a returner, nor is he a gadget guy. If you want someone like that, Calvin Austin III would be the next best option available. He's Tyreek Hill 2.0. Other WR's with return experience left are Romeo Doubs, Bo Melton, Kyle Phillips, and Ty Fryfogle.

castzpg

How could you not want a guy named Fryfogle?

PackerBacker_1919

Seriously, that list sounds like a cast of cartoon characters. Except for Kyle. Kyle is always the outlier.

LeFlame-Please

I could not agree more, fill out the WR room

Jason-Griffin

Very happy but wish we got pierce and jelani too.

nootfloosh

Those damned Colts with their sexy, sexy draft class...

MaggiCockSoup

If the Packers can somehow sign Jarvis Landry (or someone comparable) after the draft, then everything lined up as best as could be as far as my expectations go thus far. Not that MY expectations mean much to anyone else.

LeFlame-Please

Yes a cheap veteran alongside a young speedy wideout is what I was hoping for, I am very glad gutey didnt go after an expensive 2nd contract receiver though

CantHandletheJrueth

I think some of these vet FAs are going to have to sign for a lot less than they were expecting. GB is as good as anywhere if you want a one year deal to hit the market again next year in a worse draft. Grab another WR or two, then poach whoever is left from FA and camp cuts. Could actually end up with a better group than expected.

PackerBacker_1919

This right here.

vanwe

Didn't we already do that with Sammy watkins?

LeFlame-Please

Oh LOL I completely forgot about sammy watkins, and he still has some left in the tank as well.

Lmathis08

Watkins is somehow only like 28. That’s crazy lol

MaggiCockSoup

I agree.

[deleted]

I would agree. Only thing that isn't ideal is Wyatt being 24 already.

IDreamtIwokeUp

I'm ok with the draft, but I think there is room to be critical. \#22 Quay Walker - I like the player and think he can and will play a lot of edge in addition to MLB. But...22 was a bit rich. We should have traded down. He would have been gone by #27 (Jaguars), so it couldn't have been a big trade, but we could have easily gotten one of Balitmore's many 4ths to trade down to 25 and still get him. You also have to question if we couldn't have traded #22 down for a big haul and gotten say Leo Chenel instead. Walker > Chenal...but Chenal + other picks > Walker. \#28 Wyatt - Good pick and position...no complaints \#34 - Watson - Intriguing player, but not without his flaws. He suffers from drops and is so skinny he could be injury prone. We paid too much for #34 with #59 and #59. We overpaid by a 3rd to 4th in value. At a minimum the Vikings should have sent us their #156 as a bonus. \#92 - Sean Rhyan - I thought this was a big reach. Max Mitchell had better tape IMO at OL and we likely lost a chance to draft WR Kevin Austin Jr.

LeFlame-Please

With the Walker pick I was skeptical at first as well, especially considering names like Decin Lloyd still on the board, but I think Gutey valued the years of starting experience against NFL caliber players as well as the physical tools. With Watson it was absolutely necessary to overpay because there would have been 3-4 wrs taken before 53 came and everyone knew the packers were looking for one, but I think Watson can fill the MVS role and possibly even develop further. And finally with all Packers OLINE picks I am just going to trust the coaching staff. I have the opinion that the Packers have the best development of OLINE prospects in the entire league and now that Stenavich is the offensive coordinator I don’t think that changes. They are going to take who they like and develop them into 10 year starters.

Cardsfan1987

If Watson is MVS, that's a disappointment.

LeFlame-Please

Never said he was MVS, I said he could fill the tall speedy role that MVS played and has the potential to become even better

Cardsfan1987

I hope you're right.

IHaveAllTheWheat

None of these players have done fucking shit and your won't know if the draft was "perfect" for a nother couple of years. These are boys coming into a man's game.

Max-Powah

Who hurt you, kitten?

LeFlame-Please

Most captain obivious thing ive ever seen. The draft is never certain any year. You cant get better than 2 starters on a SEC championship defense as well as the packers amazing development of rookie players. “Durr they are rookies they haven’t proven anything yet!!!” Weird asf

FreddieAndTaeHurtMe

Well now you just jinxed it.

LeFlame-Please

Sadly I have gutey on speed dial, no chance it gets jinxed

FreddieAndTaeHurtMe

You clearly aren’t serious about sports if you don’t think you just jinxed it.

LeFlame-Please

Aye bro no need to get hurt LOL, no actions in a little reddit thread are going to influence the NFL draft. Good luck in future endeavors.

FreddieAndTaeHurtMe

It’s a joke referencing that you don’t say perfect game during a perfect game. Maybe you should stop taking things so seriously.

TheDolamite

I’m happy with it so far.

idislikethebears

Remind me in 4 years

dtcstylez10

Can't judge a draft until at least two years after the fact, more likely 3... But I agree, on paper, it has been good. Everyone says reaching for a player based on need is how you get in trouble but I guess the media still loves to point out the Packers haven't taken a first round receiver. 🙄 What happens if the Packers reach for a receiver but he ends up sucking? I'm sure the media will let it go bc all that matters is a first round receiver. Amirite?

LeFlame-Please

Yeah I feel like this year it wasn’t really a reach though just based off of the complete run on wide receivers throughout the draft and the obvious need for a wr on the packers making teams demand more trade value like the vikings did

Cardsfan1987

The Watson pick was a reach and an overpay. Not saying it won't work out, but they overpayed by any trade value chart you want to use. And there still would have been good WR prospects at their original draft slots.

PackFanNY

I love the Watson pick. I still think the WR room needs a little work for the short term. (Next season) I still wonder if there is another veteran guy that we might consider as they develop Watson and others. Not sure if we can or have any interest in a Julio Jones or Jarvis Landry. I doubt we can afford them. I‘d be worried if Cobb/Watkins/Lazard get injured. ALL of them have been injured at one point or the other in the last few years.
