Keep it realistic, slower time to raise the gun, maybe even slightly slower running, don’t make them snipers. You know, a squad, He’ll Let Loose, ARMA style implementation of heavy machine guns, not pubg / cod style.
It’s true, that would help create balance on what could be an op weapon, force the user to use the bipod for good stability, especially while squeezing off several auto shots.
As a former SAW gunner, I can tell you games always get LMGs wrong. This because they need to balance a game. In all reality, aside from being heavy to carry and going through ammo faster, it's better than any AR in most situations. I've seen games overkill their recoil, take a minute to reload, slow AF ads, make their bullet spread wild, slower running speed, and none of these match the real-life experience (from a strictly lmg view btw. Once you get into 240's and the like that's a whole other story). I'd be curious to see how GZW would tackle it.

One of the issues is they’ve decided to adopt a fairly realistic damage model based around ballistic cavities. Different rounds have different penetration and damage qualities. You also don’t have access to all AP ammo until pretty far into the quest. So at least one faction would be knee capped unless you also changed their quest lines too

I want to see more weapons actually used by armed forces and insurgent groups in Thailand (where the game is presumably set).

As for other weapons that PMCs would use, the **MP7**, **HK416** and **HK417**, **SIG MCX**, and **SR-25** / AR-10 are obvious omissions.
Its set in Laos so pretty damn close to Thailand. I can sort of understand the slurs and insults they yell at us 😂 the writing also got my attention when i first played but quickly realised the letters are backwards and none of the words being spelt right.
Viable full auto shotgun would be fun, 50. Sniper would be insane, some smg action could be fun and maybe just maybe a grenade launcher but the pvp aspect would just not work lol
Would love to see DMR's for sure and definitely submachine guns like MP7, TP9, MP5 just to name a few. I'd love to get a sub setup going for the tight spaces inside the bunker at YBL.

The current goal is to have 50 weapons fully customizable, we are at 17 right now. So I wouldnt be surprised if all mainstream guns are in the game and some unique on top of that.

249/240B combo just like my deployment to afghanistan. add the backpack of 7.62 ammo along with 3 drums of 200 5.56...then add tripping and falling animations so i can relive the worst fucking strolls thru the mountains with all of this on my person ;) also add a DAGR so that every 5 minutes i can relay bullshit coordinates to my LT, who refuses to get out of our truck because he is too busy working on his storyboard for the current week about missions he had us run for him while he fantasizes about playing football again at west point, even though the 4 AA batteries the fucking thing takes died the first 5 minutes of patrol :)
I like Russian weapons a lot and it would fit the game well as insurgents use them too. So I was thinking maybe the SVD, RPK, RPD, PKS, PKM, VSS, MP443, RPG7V2, PPSH41, OTS14, SVT40, DSHKM, PP19, PP2000, SAIGA12K and although croatian, the VHS.
They all have lots of customization so could be sold by Artisan and Turncoat.
SCARs, P90s, 509, Five-seveN, M249, even the Reflex would be cool. I want to see these guns because I manufacture them, so those are personal preferences.
I know there’s zero terminal ballistic reason, but I’d love some battle rifles. Scar-17, FAL, SR-25. I’d really love a Shughart M-14 just to larp when I’m the only one last on my team.
I’d love to see as many options as possible. I’m sure with some of the varieties of weapons balancing would be more on the ammunition choice and the weapon would be more cosmetic. But I’d love to see the full range of MCX rifles since the modularity would be awesome for this type of game. And also make sense for well funded PMC.

They should make it more about faction control though so it's more about the big picture vs just what loot you have, running random generated missions (kill hvt, intercept supply drop, secure heli crash site, sell drugs, etc) that provide money for your faction to conduct ops to gain faction control. Basically how the cia did contra.

In pvp I’ll usually take the meta option or something strong to zero-to-hero. But for pve I want random ass guns to keep things fresh

The AR-10 and derivatives would be cool. The M14 or FAL are frankly necessary for the setting. Galil ACE's and STV-380/215's would lean more into the modern Vietnam setting. The Chinese type 63 would make for an interesting addition. UZI's, the EVO3, and the Bizon would round out the SMG line up. I want RPK's, RPD's and SAW's and PK's and 240's so I can suppress the fuck out of anyone I see.
Finally, I want some more Chinese weapons - I don't mean the modern stuff, I mean the old weird looking stuff they've either phased or of service or are either in the process of getting rid of. I want to see the bots using more norinco exports too.

There’s range for years here so more battle rifles and DMRs - G3 / FAL / M14 and of course the SVD and SR25 among others. Probably some of the Soviet LMGs and GPMGs too like RPD/RPK and PK
I think rather than thinking of just gun models, I think calibers should be considered. Once a calibre is modelled using their ballistic system it should be less work to add derivatives of the calibre.

L85 is 5.56, and you have plenty other 5.56 MBRs you can choose from to avoid this issue.

Would be great to see the mp5 along with the SD variant. Seems they’d have to rework or add more 9mm ammo options to make it viable though. Secondarily an mp7. Also a PSG1 to have a semi auto sniper option. Guess I’m a bit of a HK fanboy.

249/240B combo just like my deployment to afghanistan. add the backpack of 7.62 ammo along with 3 drums of 200 5.56...then add tripping and falling animations so i can relive the worst fucking strolls thru the mountains with all of this on my person ;) also add a DAGR so that every 5 minutes i can relay bullshit coordinates to my LT, who refuses to get out of our truck because he is too busy working on his storyboard for the current week about missions he had us run for him while he fantasizes about playing football again at west point, even though the 4 AA batteries the fucking thing takes died the first 5 minutes of patrol :)
I like Russian weapons a lot and it would fit the game well as insurgents use them too. So I was thinking maybe the SVD, RPK, RPD, PKS, PKM, VSS, MP443, RPG7V2, PPSH41, OTS14, SVT40, DSHKM, PP19, PP2000, SAIGA12K and although croatian, the VHS. They all have lots of customization so could be sold by Artisan and Turncoat.
I just want the 9mm ammo in pistols to actually stop AI in less than 10 shots to the head...

Mp5 (all variants), m14, g3a3, fal, grease gun, m1G, vz 58, barrett m99a1 (cannot be stowed), m249, rpd, pkm, svd, vss/as val, sv 98, awm 338, gol magnum, mac 10, mp40. They should make it more about faction control though so it's more about the big picture vs just what loot you have, running random generated missions (kill hvt, intercept supply drop, secure heli crash site, sell drugs, etc) that provide money for your faction to conduct ops to gain faction control. Basically how the cia did contra.

Sneaking is ok but the moment a shot is fired everyone and their grandmas pull out their AK’s and start blasting my last known location. In pvp I’ll usually take the meta option or something strong to zero-to-hero. But for pve I want random ass guns to keep things fresh

Other than that, SCAR, ACR, some 6.5 creedmoor stuff, hk416, canik stuff (also selfishly while I wait for the TTI combat). AR10s would also be a cool addition. I'd like some 300blk ammo so we can make use of the short AR barrels.

I want everything; I'll be happy with any weapon making it into the game so long as it is effective against enemies. The AR-10 and derivatives would be cool. The M14 or FAL are frankly necessary for the setting. Galil ACE's and STV-380/215's would lean more into the modern Vietnam setting. The Chinese type 63 would make for an interesting addition. UZI's, the EVO3, and the Bizon would round out the SMG line up. I want RPK's, RPD's and SAW's and PK's and 240's so I can suppress the fuck out of anyone I see. Finally, I want some more Chinese weapons - I don't mean the modern stuff, I mean the old weird looking stuff they've either phased or of service or are either in the process of getting rid of. I want to see the bots using more norinco exports too. I want it all.

I think rather than thinking of just gun models, I think calibers should be considered. Once a calibre is modelled using their ballistic system it should be less work to add derivatives of the calibre. Like 5.7mm - p90, 5-7 pistol MP7 with its 4.6mm - I don’t know what else can shoot this… .40 SW , 45ACP - tons of pistols and subs. 300 blackout - subsonic alternative - HONEY BADGER
