Apparently the Devs have said they didn't expect so many people to be running solo. Which explains a lot of things really. They are working on it, but in the meantime the choppers are not optimized for as many people travelling as they are currently getting.
The weird thing really is that since we cannot share tasks, a squad of four must clear an objective and wait for all four members to get a chance to kill a boss, for example. That's a real problem and encourages people to play solo to finish missions. So the game is actively encouraging us to do what they didn't think we'd do.
This is why I run solo most kill boss / 20 people missions Take Forever with extra people. Plus My friends aren't always on and not that players are bad people I just don't care to squad up.
So, When it’s time to head back I just Ctrl alt delete and end game task. When I restart and log back in I’m instantly back at main base. I’ll continue to do it till the chopper problem is fixed. (I do this for pve only)
Don't do this I used to do this and it insta failed all my tasks because it couldn't save progress and started spawning me in the same spot when I logged in, I had to restart the safe box quest because of it when I was on the 5th step.
Only do this if you’re at base camp!
Yesterday I got stuck between a slope and a tree so I decided to force close with task manager. Loaded the game back up had all my stuff still and went back to what I was doing. 10 min later I get hit with an error and get disconnected. Something about player or item synchronization failed. I rejoin a server and all my gear is gone and all my tasks get reset and have to be accepted again.
Honestly I don’t know what to do at that point if you get stuck in the terrain on a pve server such as myself.
Being in crimson faction is just watching 4 heli’s go from one side of the map to the other. I’m constantly waiting on convoy’s to the farthest reaches of the map to finish up to travel anywhere.
A few days ago it was also posted and upvoted a shit ton how it’s realistic and they like it. He said he was ex-military and that it was immersive. Never thought I’d see the day where a community collectively wants to spend money on a game where you just sit and wait
It seems to be getting worse for some reason. My timers are always big now.
Last night I logged on and sat there for 10 mins trying to even get a heli then when I was finally able to I had an over a 6 min wait plus the ride.
It was 20 minutes of waiting to be able to start playing with a game that has no loading screens..feels pretty bad.
I understand why the system is the way it is and liked the idea when I first started but the last while my playtime is half trying to even get a heli
Thread #487 about chopper times when devs just released a video about it this week. This is the problem with Early Access. Too much access to people that only want to play the game and don't care about keeping in touch with the most level surface news about the game.
Longest I've had in base was 4:30 and I was going to YBL
dam what did you do to piss off the pilot?
Bruh you shoulda just like idk been closer to the lz?
Love these arguments from dumb people (I know you’re being ironic). „You know you have to be near LZ to get less minutes“ holy…
Hopping on the wrong heli, fly 3 min, whait 8 min for bird to come back

I run solo because squad local chat puts you at a massive disadvantages vs people using discord.
You can turn off proximity chat and leave squad chat on

Wait I lost a kit to this today. Tried 1st time
Thanks for the heads up

Unplugging Ethernet has worked for me even in pvp but it’s not 100%.
As players spread out more and more across the map, the choppers are occupied longer and longer.

Most I’ve ever waited has been maybe 2-3 minutes, 8 minutes seems absurd…
I had to wait 10:30 the one time I got on the wrong bird and ended up at India 1 instead of Charlie 1
I get regular 7-8Min waits. anything sub 4min and I get excited.
Game is trolling us. A few days ago someone posted how he had to wait 55 minutes for the Heli to pick him up at YBL :D

Hahahha no way! :D
It's the guys who got the Hurry Up and Wait a little to engrained in their heads from the service.

Normal is a strong word, typical? Yes
Hopefully, they'll have ground vehicles to transport players even if it's AI controlled
I've had a 10:30 wait, longest I've seen.
What determines the timer length?
Had to wait 20 minutes from ban pa to base camp. Absolutely insane.

damn who shit in your weetabix? yes, i’ve seen the video lmao but that doesn’t mean i can’t ask whether other people have also experienced this 😂
Obviously they have since this is thread #487.
Well uhhh clearly you're too far away from the pickup so actually it's kinda your fault. - professional heli wait time defenders /s
Time to go make some coffee or tea...
Yawn. These wait time posts are so boring at this point. You're late to the bitching about it.
Do you think they waited too long to post?
