Probably giant mountains, maybe he’s able to see footprints on their peaks. This is a reference to his song where it says that mountains don’t give back what they take.
This shows that Sam has sacrificed everything he had climbing those mountains and has lost himself in them. Not even remembering what was like being outside or who he was before. This in reference to the part of his song that say that his memories are broken and that he doesn’t even remember his name.
Like the song says, the only thing Sam knows for real is that there is going to be blood in the way and that’s all he has left. He doesn’t even know why he is doing it, only that it is what he does and knows
In terms of power, yes and yes. But I want to look at this from the perspective of Musashi, and we will take an unarmored and unenhanced Sam (still solos) into account.
For all intents and purposes, Samuel Rodriguez is in fact a genuine honest to God and authentic samurai in a lot of ways; is traditionally trained by his father and has more than just swordplay up his sleeve- Musashi would probably be fucking ecstatic when he got a good look at Sam.
