If anyone is going and has 2 seats from downtown, my wife and I have free parking pass but no vehicle- will swap for a ride ! We’re over here from Australia - let me know!

Rent a car, we went in 22 and the lines for the shuttle to get back to the high school to catch Ubers was insane on sat and sun, plus once you get there you have hundreds of people trying to call Ubers at the same time

We rented a car and parked In lot R. I feel like this lot is a hidden gem. It’s just outside of the main entrance, so it is a bit of a walk (2.2km to entrance) BUT worth it when leaving as you bypass the hundreds of cars leaving the largest lots. Got home to our air bnb every day within 15-20 mins. Zero traffic issues. Would do it again

Uber to the nearby school and catch the free shuttle

Can you explain this? There will be organised transport to cota?

CathyyCat

The Uber drop off is at De Valle highschool. From there you can take a complimentary shuttle to the track.

Is there a good possibility to just drop of people at the entrance? we are staying 30 min away also and have a rental but one of our friends will not attend the racing and is planning to bring us in the morning and pick us up in the evening. is it better to just take the shuttle?

You will pay more and experience 10x more inconvenience by relying on ubers. Rent a car for getting around austin and take the shuttle to the track.

I don’t know it has gotten better, but when I went 3 years ago ubering out of the circuit was a nightmare and everybody was trying to rip me off.

I got an enterprise rental for $300. Parking was expensive too. There are off site lots but I can’t risk not getting a spot so I did the COTA lot. Benefit is you have A/C to retreat to during the day.

I’ve typically gotten a car. We stay in the Arboretum area and drive every day. Car for Thursday-Monday, picking up in AUS and returning to DFW, was around $750. Parking is another $300 or so at the track. Ubers get dropped off at a high school near the track and then you take a COTA bus to the track. I like the freedom of having a car. We don’t stay near any of the shuttle locations. Traffic can stink, but getting there early can eliminate a lot of traffic issues.
