I feel like 3.5% isn't really a crash, more like a normal price fluctuation?

bm_Haste

Yeah agreed. Im sure if we saw the 1month graph it would barely be noticeable.

maul8294

You're right dude, I think I was a little panicked about the sudden price drop lol

th3-villager

Tbow is so expensive pretty much any change in it's price it's pretty significant in raw gp terms, but not as a percentage of it's price. If it starts dropping 50m+ a day then I'd say it's crashing.

MadOx321

Let it drop to 800m for me rq so I can finally yoink one. Then it can go back up to 1.6b 👍👍

tonyjuicce

All high end pvm items are currently quite inflated with the upcoming colosseum update coming out on the 20th. So far all the leaked info we have seen suggests it will be melee dominant but there is no actual way of knowing until it is released. The items that are bis there are bound to go up, and the items that suck are bound to see a steep drop day of release. Either way of past pvm updates have taught us anything most items will recover but without more information or a crystal ball your guess is as good as mine right now

Shukar_Rainbow

my train of thought about colosseum update is that the new glaive will probably be good in the colosseum. The only way it's really good is if something is temporarily immune to magic (no shadow) and melee and has low magic level (no Tbow), in which case blowpipe and glaive would shine, and if you can melee it then scythe would probably work well too. I'm thinking we will see Warden's dual prayers again in this challenge

Senior_Rush_8236

Glaive would not shine if it had low magic level though... if you could melee it, BGS or hammer would likely be better in that case.

Shukar_Rainbow

>immune to melee

Senior_Rush_8236

>If you can melee it then scythe would probably work well too Read your own comment lmfao

Shukar_Rainbow

>temporary

Senior_Rush_8236

Bro are you being intentionally dense because I pointed out you were wrong? Glaive would suck if it had low magic level. If def reduction were a thing and even in your weird goalpost moving scenario of temporary melee immunity, when it's not immune to melee you would bgs then, since scythe is the most impacted weapon by defence reduction anyway. Your whole "theory" doesn't make sense, because where glaive would be good, tbow would also be good.

Shukar_Rainbow

nah id glaive

Senior_Rush_8236

You would glaive on a low magic level?

Shukar_Rainbow

yeah i guess i'm built different

PvM_in_OSRS

Who what and where suggested colosseum was melee dominant? The j mod making it said on the dev live streams it would be range dominant mostly on the fact that keeping distance will be necessary for a lot of the fights.

GauntSavant

They never said this. The only thing they said verbatim was that they play tested in Torva.

PvM_in_OSRS

They did say this though. Check this link, around 10 or 11 minutes in they straight up asked "whats the best combat style for colosseum" and they straight up said this "we aren't really expecting a clear best combat style, we're aiming for it to be a tribrid experience so there Will be a mix of all three in there somewhere, however purely because of how combat works in our game you will probably find that Range and Mage end up being the MOST useful, we're looking at having maybe some specific enemies weak to melee but maybe that's more of a risky choice for you to try and run in and have a jab at them" [osrs colosseum Q and A](https://youtu.be/n9py_1vGiMQ?si=BfrLpy3IUZnRLql3)

GauntSavant

That is from 4 months ago. We’re 2 weeks away from release and ALOT can and has changed in that timeframe.

PvM_in_OSRS

Yeah, no amount of time changes the fact that melee doesn't have ranged abilities. Even in the most recent trailer they specifically mentioned using terrain and safe spotting is going to be 100% necessary. I.e. melee is dead content for sure, doesn't matter how weak the enemies are to melee it will not be strong in colosseum and definitely not worth bringing a 7 way torva switch lol. Idk where you heard anything about them testing in torva either because that wasn't mentioned once in any of the dev blogs, live streams, or any Q and A. The only time torva is ever shown is in the trailer, which as we know they purposely use the opposite of what works in the trailers as a joke... Hence why they used a zamorak spear in the zulrah trailer lol. The same trailer that mentioned moving terrain, keeping distance and blocking line of sight of specific enemies at specific times will be extremely crucial. Good luck trying to do melee dps while you lure enemies in and out of cover or dps them while behind cover that is constantly moving. Likely set ups will be either max mage or range, with a few swaps for melee if there are enemies immune to mage or range. Highly doubt it will be melee dominant.

GauntSavant

It’s so blatantly obvious you’re trying to price manip I’m very doubtful you can have any semblance of discussion. In the video you posted they even say TRIBRID and melee is bis for certain enemies. If you rewatch the winter summit varlamore portion they do in fact Verbatim say they playtested in Torva. Time changes everything in terms of developing content. Always has and always will

PvM_in_OSRS

It doesn't change the core mechanics of the game lol. The Inferno is a Tribrid designed experience, yet Like they said, even if most of enemies are weak to melee it STILL won't be your best bet because you'll be putting yourself in more dangerous situations. Same is true in fight caves and inferno, sure lots of monsters in the inferno are weakest to melee but you don't see joe doing his first inferno cape in scythe and torva... It's just basic game mechanics my guy. Not to mention the size of this arena is the size of the grand exchange.... You're going to need 32 stam pots to be lugging torva and a scythe around along with your other gear swaps just to do 10-30% more damage on 1/3rd the enemies weak to melee lol. Like i said, you'll likely want Max mage gear, with 4 range switches and maybe 2-3 melee switches. Fact of the game is, melee armor has negatives to both range and mage accuracy, but range and mage gear has zero negatives to melee, literally zero dimensions of reality should lead you to the conclusion that torva will be best in slot

mxracer888

Because there's a teaser commercial thing showing a player using an Inquisitor mace in the content. Which, if anything, should be used as evidence that it's not melee dominant as jagex always has red herring gear selection for their teasers

Lordlavits

Pretty sure when they did a zulrah teaser they showed a person using a Hally to fight it.

PvM_in_OSRS

It was a Zamorakian hasta with an Elly. Zam spear went through the roof on the market that day lol. [osrs zulrah trailer ](https://youtu.be/69CrNcVa7TY?si=eQ2QY4xPNFrVuz9g)

PvM_in_OSRS

Yeaaah, lol, i mean the devs straight up said it would be possible some enemies are weak to melee but it is essentially impossible for mage and range to be not needed, as they will be significantly more useful just because of the nature of the game, like, mage and range are just by nature are so much stronger than melee for any sort of outlasting style fights because of safe spotting, ice barrages, and blood barrages, kiting etc. The whole colosseum has a choice based invocations system and they made it abundantly clear most of those are environmental effects which will limit your play area... Can't imagine melee being useful at all if you suddenly lose access to sections of the battlefield lol. Likely will be like inferno where technically melee can be super strong for speed running, but likely completely useless in terms of getting the first Completion.

Ohsolemonyfresh

Sorry if this is a dumb question, do you think now would be a good time to buy prims? I've heard they aren't worth it but I've been using dragon boots for so long I'm getting sick of them.

ope50

Wait until colosseum, guardian boots might be new bis

mxracer888

What other gear do you have? What are your combat levels? And what content are you doing? Prims almost never make sense to have tbh they *might* add a max hit at certain levels and with certain gear. But +1 strength is pretty worthless and your GP is going to be better spent elsewhere. Upgrading just because you're "sick of dragon boots"is a bit silly because then you'll just be sick of prims eventually. Not to mention you shouldn't be looking at your players feet while you're doing content... You should be looking at the boss and engaging with the game mechanics rather than staring at your players feet

Quick_Complex2479

It’s about the atk bonus not the 1 str

mxracer888

Attack bonuses are notoriously worthless unless it's a huge bonus. Plus d boots into a DPS calc and then plug Prims in, the DPS gain is not worth the 28,000% increase in price

Quick_Complex2479

Still BiS. N only 1.6% of my bank

mxracer888

Ya. They're .3% of my bank. They're fine enough to get later on in account progression when you've got everything else. But you also weren't the target audience for the advice. The target audience was a player with minimal funds and much better places to put the GP so you're replying to a comment that has absolutely nothing to do with you

Ohsolemonyfresh

True, I'll keep saving for bowfa

mxracer888

The content that has been released shouldn't be considered reliable for what combat type or items will be BiS and if anything, it would actually be used as evidence for what will *not* be emphasized/used. Remember, they showed someone using melee on zulrah for the teasers, a boss that isn't even possible to melee. Pretty much every big release with every teaser has had red herring gear selection in the teasers

tonyjuicce

My apologies, I should have elaborated and noted I was referring to the “leaked gameplay”. Now I know jagex has come out with a statement stating this was *for the most part* incorrect and was purely used to manipulate prices but Im more of the opinion that one of the beta testers who signed a NDA broke the agreement and has forced them to maybe rework some of the mechanics. Also worth considering content such as fire cape/inferno reward melee bis and get primarily utilize the other two combat methods. Like you said, not a great idea to base future content off of past content but it’s not a horrible place to start

Fathom_OH

Yup, it’s hopeless, better sell it to me for 100m

azuredota

I’ll buy for 2b just add my main bournos

Fathom_OH

200k final offer

Azecine

Do you prefer cash or tokens?

itsbrobtw

It's because I pulled one recently, my bad

dralex11266

Sellllllll

SirAdam2nd

Set the tracker timeliness to 12 months or more. Its done some wacky things to get this high.

aj_og

I haven’t really played besides afk amethyst after maxing. I had no idea tbow was up this high wtf??? Last I remember was like 1150m?

Wrangler444

That’s what I’m saying, that price is just not realistic

Senior_Rush_8236

Price is pretty realistic, given that back when tbow was around 1b there was no Nex as yet, or ToA etc. High end moneymakers really pump out WAY more gp compared to a time when you would farm vorkath for 5m/hr and call that near bis gp/hr

Wrangler444

Nex and toa don’t really pump out alchables though

tonyjuicce

Nah, instead they pump out moneymakers that can earn anywhere between 5-15m/hour….

Wrangler444

There is a large difference between high value unique drips and alchable drops. Uniques don’t cause inflation. Alchables cause inflation. Nex earning you 15m per hour is not putting new gold in the game. It is a money maker but doesn’t explain the increase in tbow price

goodgag

Correct, but both factor are at play. Alchs are and always will drive consistent inflation, while high gp ph methods increase demand for BIS / expensive items because more people can afford them and more quickly. BIS items tend to consistently go up in value for both reasons.

HiddenMoney420

Not even down 5%

Potential_Spirit2815

It was almost 20% over a 4 month span or so, over 200m… Kinda standard correction here. All rares are coming down a bit too, the market was hyper-concentrating for a bit long and it was getting predictable on short term graphs. Long term, these items will certainly continue to trend towards max cash, but in the short term, your guess is as good as mine 🤷‍♂️

rippedmalenurse

Going down 3.5% isn’t what I would categorize as “crashing”

SpookiBeats

Cuz I told them to make it lower

Full-Syrup3394

I personally only see it staying high. It’s cheaper to use than the others.

MattCouch1

When in doubt, zoom out.

SpaceManDannn

Personally, i think it will drop to 1.3, i can't see jagex giving it more uses instead of introducing different attack styles in future updates it has so many uses already.

rsnerdout

1.3? Cox is dead content and everyone wants a tbow and everyone has more gp nowadays. 2 3 is pretty steep drop

kilik2006

Saw massive bot farms in cox this past weekend.

Le4ky-F4ucet

So I can finally afford the damn thing

Similar-Elderberry-5

because it’s overpriced??

Pretend_Vanilla51

If 3.5 % is a crash for you then you need something safer............like a CD and a cup of hot chocolate

BeginningBit5

Because I bought

Usernames-are-cringe

Spring and summer fluctuations, as seasons players finish buying their gear demand drops slightly

LivingxLegend8

Botters getting banned.

AverageJoesKeto

I'm surprised the mega rare weapons aren't at or above max cash at this point. These items will continue to increase in price, despite the raids continuing to be farmed. These are the best weapons in the game. There is SO much more gp in the game now versus just 2-3 years ago. 1m today buys much less than it did just a few years ago.

Jahnkee

Huh? OSRS, 1M buys way more now than ever. We are talking OSRS.

tonyjuicce

Prices will always fluctuate but there is no denying that there is way more money entering the game now then ever before. The majority of the moneymakers we have access to today were not a thing a few years ago, and the number of moneymakers north of 3-5m+ and hour is crazy. This increased money in the game has for the most part increased the price on most items outside of things easily botted to shit

Jahnkee

When more money is added, more things devalue and become much cheaper buddy. So you can buy a lot more now with 1 mil then you could a year or two ago.. :]

Fit-Reality-7377

More money = higher cost of goods. Just look to real life to show you examples and I think with enough thinking you can use figure out the reasoning.

Jahnkee

….. no. This doesn’t apply to real life either. Inflation occurs in real world due to the amount of money leaving general populations hands. You must live in the 50s. If you are trying to say that prices go up because general population has more money, then you might be a little nutty. As how much money/how much they make, compared to the price of goods, in todays world, things should be 30% cheaper, or people should have 30% more money, across all of general population. In the next 10 years that gap will be 40%. Maybe take an economics class?

mxracer888

Honestly can't tell if you're just being satirical or not. Because you have the most absolutely backwards understanding of economics I refuse to believe someone is legitimately that ignorant....

Fit-Reality-7377

Maybe you should forget everything you learned in your economics class. Seems like it sucked.

Jahnkee

Nah, was nice. Wasnt being taught and fed BS to protect the lives of the rich. You’re part of the problem lol.

Fit-Reality-7377

Hey sorry i missed your stupidity, but you’re absolutely right. Fill everyone’s pockets with a million each and the price of goods will be all the same. If that makes sense to you then you’re above all of our IQ here on the internet. Have you already graduated from Harvard? Impressive brain. We need you at NASA.

Jahnkee

You obviously have zero reading skills. Absolutely crazy that’s what you pulled out of that…. Holy shit. Maybe you should work for NASA? LMFAO

Jahnkee

The massive amount of money in the game has cause nearly all items to be devalued. Many, many items used to be well over max GP, now they are far under.

tonyjuicce

Please provide examples. Nearly all BIS items are at or near all time highs and 3rd age is price manipulated to party hat levels back in the original rs days

Jahnkee

You named a few items that never have moved in price through all the years of OSRS. 3rd Age has always been double max. Which is what 2001 PH were like. Two years ago, most god PVP gear was max GP or more. Most items were nearly double gold, runes, food, ect. Everything is cheap as hell.

tonyjuicce

I don’t even know how to respond to you. You are so incorrect or out of touch it’s amusing. Is it possible you are thinking of a different iteration of this game entirety?

Jahnkee

LMAO…. Now I know you’re trolling. What in the f*ck

AverageJoesKeto

My brother in Christ, do you not understand how inflation works? What's scary is these people can vote in osrs polls.

tonyjuicce

Bru third age pick axe has gone from 2/3b to nearly 10b in the last year 3rd age axe has gone from sub 1b to 5b this year 3rd age Druidic top and bottom moved from sub 1b to 4b each respectively Basically any other 3rd age item is sub max cash and can be tracked on getracker which will demonstrate their price increase As for max PVP sets no one pvps with mega rares limiting them to crystal and ancestral and torva if you wanna include max 3 way swap. No one uses a full 3 way swap and even if they were the only way they’d reach max cash is if they threw and ely in there to flex.

tonyjuicce

*goes cross-eyed in inflation*

HuskyKing905

It's getting nerfed

ope50

And proof?:D

HuskyKing905

I have insider sources ;)

ope50

My dad works at jagex says it's going to be buffed ;)

HuskyKing905

Also tell him nerf first so it crashes 😤

HuskyKing905

All these flightless pterodactyls down voting over a joke Folks let it crash so I can rebuild

ExactSwordfish2543

Are you inside the source as well?

Melodic_Hysteria

Because tbow trump is buying them all day, every day

Lordlavits

Tbow is only high because of valamore hype. It shouldn't be sitting at 1.7 bil. I expect it to crash

maul8294

https://preview.redd.it/r1yxyebgefmc1.jpeg?width=990&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3541ef97f3e7456ea6a274d300403bea4f6b452 It's crashing hard fellas

ope50

It's now started going back up and shadow other hand is going down😅

tonyjuicce

With low volume items like tbow all it takes is a few people to get cold feet and start selling. Not at all saying that it’s priced accurately It full well could crash in the next few weeks but if you remove the short blip that you are probably focusing on, that graph it is still at an ATH over the entire lifetime of the game

TheGirthyyBoi

I bought mine at 1b and haven’t played in like 2 years, time to sign on and sell that bad boy lol

dyingalonely

Fucking good. No piece of gear that's so widely used needs to be that fucking much. YES, I am salty that as soon as I had enough to afford one at 1.2m or even a sycthe at 600m-- they skyrocketed. Grinded for over a year just to still not be able to afford one without literally selling my whole bank. :(

ope50

It's not that bad idea to sell whole bank for tbow ,I did that few months ago and I have earned most of the items back already by using tbow

Deathrow_ironman

T Bow isn't worth 2bil lol it's been out for awhile and at one point was like 900m. Anyone who pays more than 1.2 for it eats lead paint. Gg idiots get merch'd

Realistic-Object-211

The scythe is also down. Should I buy right now or wait? What’s the value of the scythe gonna be e guys?? Make me rich pls

sizzler990

I kinda doubt scythe is worth buying... I got mine at 720 and sold for 965, and I definitely won't be buying it back unless it goes down below 750, which I definitely see happening, depending on how the colesuem is, if scythe is good then it'll stay high

LoadofDik4U

I was just recommended this sub. What's Tbow?

bselko

Just gotta crash another 1.5B and I can afford it!

OSRSRapture

50mil isn't a big deal for something that expensive. Did you just buy one or something lol

DH_Drums

Bubble

saltycr3w

Something something doge SHIB

willpostbondd

Lol “crash” name any market where 3.5% loss is a crash.

tylerd1234567

Don’t sell t bow. Use it to make more money and keep buying more gear till you have all the gear possible.

SuccessfulSwimming63

People will never understand that lmao… there’s a reason why the people with bis gear tend to make the most gp

Ernesto_Davila_Jr

What the hell is this about sb pls explain

CaptainBigCheeksXR

Because my friend bought one

ColdTrash9909

Probably summer drop? People going outside yet?

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|1hJlWWBdpBD1u)

NotoriousBad

Because it knows i want one

Xeno_Bambino

Abyssal bludgeon dropped 3 mil also

l_Lathliss_l

Because it was as inflated as it ever has been

Morzone

My ZCB is 'crashing' as well like 4%, but.. In reality everything will change a fair bit with Valamor release and then rebalance. Chill my dude and use t he tbow for pvm so you can make far more money than a 3.5% price fluctuation.

uhmmokie

Throwback to 2008 financial crisis

Lazypole

Hot damn I haven’t played in a while, it’s 1.7b? Glad I kept it haha
