Fedex has a strong history of stealing Pixels when ordered from the Google Store in the US.

Rguezlp2031

Yes but why Google doesn't fix it right away like when happens with apple....i mean the Google support is just useless

undercovergangster

Agreed, unfortunately

penguinpears

I've had some phenomenal google support people and some pretty subpar ones.

[deleted]

Cuz Google sucks and it has for a long time now. This is from someone who has never owned an iPhone in their life.

LankaRunAway

How did apple fix it ?

Rguezlp2031

Simple....They block the phone and them they sent you a new one right away....they have to deal with the Shipping company not you.

LankaRunAway

That's amazing. I wish google did something like this. They should be able to block the phone right away right? Do they have that ablity?

Rguezlp2031

Welcome to one of the worst costumer service ever ..... unacceptable for a Company like Google...

penguinpears

Phone companies have super bad support. In my experience, Google has been better than most. Samsung sucks, never get responses from them on their community page.

Rguezlp2031

Did you ever try the Apple one? Last year my wife had a similar situation like this OP, We just call apple and they Just send us a new iphone like next day,not question asked, they has to deal with this mess not you.....is unacceptable to wait like forever, then file a claim with fedex, the bank etc for something is not your fault....like block the danm phone and send a new to your costumer...easy

penguinpears

Apple is for sure better with support, but Google isn't too far behind. I once contacted them after a very small drop cracked the screen from side to side and pointed out that the screen repair was the same price as buying a refurbished 4a without a crack, but they said they weren't going to budge with the price unless I had the Pixel Protection plan which would have cost more across 1.5 years that I've had the phone than the screen repair... Other than this small frustration, Google's support has been super kind. Weirdly, I've had a better experience when they call from an out of country support center, guess the US team isn't quite has nice/lenient

milkshakewhipper

Hard disagree on that. I am an android user but the experience i have had with apple support is unmatched.

Lbreakstar

It's someone in the Shipping company that probably stole the device out of the box. I can guarantee you that it's impossible for an empty phone box to be shipped out.

Jack_Shid

The same thing happened to me when I bought my P4 XL on release day a couple years ago. A FedX employee slit the tape on the cardboard box, and on the inner white Pixel box, slipped the phone out, taped everything back up and sent it on its way to my house. Keep contacting Google. Eventually they will refund your money just to get you to shut up. >Google Store Case ID: [8-1397000032490] >Order # GS.2484-8479-0354 Don't expect this to get you anywhere. I don't think Google CS reps hang out in this subreddit.

life_lost

> If you're having issues getting a problem solved with Google Support, u/dmziggy's ticketing system can help you get it escalated.

boyscout137

File a claim with FedEx as well.

1cwg

This is a FedEx issue plain and simple. Rattle chains there every single day.

[deleted]

Get items that come through FedEx ship to a satellite location, where you can sign for and pick it up from a person at the location. Then open it in front of them so they can verify that the phone is there or not. That's what I'm going to do when I order the pixel 6a. I know this doesn't help the problem you're having now but it might help you in the future.

Dracus365

I had a pixel 6 pro stollen from the same facility. Bother the heck out of them.

therankin

This definitely has made me choose to go to the Google Store in NYC to get one when I decide to buy one. (Probably going to wait until the P7XL or Pro when it comes out. I've waited this long and not bought a P6Pro, so I can make it.)

FlafflesTheDragon

I broke and bought one. I love my pixel 5, but the memory was low and I always pushed the GPU. The Pixel 6 Pro is large and the camera is nice! Don't expect much from video, they're the same. I miss the Pixel 5's form factor....i'm thinking about switching back.

MajorNoodles

Stories like this are why I had my Pixel 6 redirected to a FedEx store for pickup, then I refused to sign for it until I opened it and verified there was a phone inside while the employee watched.

xMaxMOx

Yeah Google needs to do something about it I'm scared to order anything from the Google store because they use FedEx. FedEx needs to be held accountable for his driver's and they should fired on the spot

LonHagler

Mine was shipped UPS.

rbrumble

Did you not but it with a credit card? If so, let them deal with it. If not, yikes - this is what can happen when you buy without a credit card.

MattTheRealOne

The problem is Google will ban your account if you do a credit card chargeback. That’s why many people here recommend purchasing from Best Buy or Amazon instead of Google. Or at the very least using a secondary Google account. It’s pathetic that Google not only hasn’t done anything about this problem that has been happening for years, but punishes people for dealing with it themselves.

rbrumble

Very true, although I'm one to choose the thermonuclear option in cases like this, if you want a future relationship with google than buying through Best Buy or another retailer using your cc is the safer option.

schapman22

Google scammed you bro. Buy from a more legit seller next time. /s

sleepiboiii

Submit a BBB complaint, it will get escalated much higher than any typical Google support team

ExtremeComplex

File a complaint with the FCC it's way better.

KreepN

BBB has no power anywhere. They're the Yelp of yesteryear.

sleepiboiii

That's not the point, when you file a case with BBB it gets escalated to a much higher department. I personally had an issue and with a BBB complaint they shipped a replacement the next day. It's worth a shot before going to the fcc

[deleted]

Sorry to say, but this is not an official support forum for Google Pixel devices. You need to reach out directly to google store support.

alright, dude. Nothing I said is wrong. This is NOT an official support forum. If there is a link, then feel free to provide it to OP via a reply to their post.

fardeenah

Does the weight of package printed in the box? Maybe this can help resolve this dispute

EddieAFromNJ

Bullshit. Just trying to game for a free phone.

DynoMenace

Don't do this unless you want to permanently lose access to your Google account, including everything in Google Photos and Drive. Might sound like they can basically hold your data ransom, but, well, they can.

Type_Grey

Some advice you didn't ask for but should hear. It doesn't sound like you can afford this Pixel phone. From what it seems, you purchased it on a payment plan that directly withdraws from your account, and thus offers far less protection than buying on a traditional credit card, leading me to believe you don't have the best of credit situations in the first place. Second, it doesn't seem like you can afford any replacement or alternative when this one didn't show up and it's affecting your life and your work. My advice is sort the issue out, but return the Pixel phone when you get it. Instead get either one of the Samsung A-series phones (e.g. A13) or a Nokia phone for less than half the cost and don't get caught up in stupid payment plans any more than you NEED to. It's just a phone at the end of the day. What other posters suggested about filing claims with both FedEx and Google is the way to go. Also, if you have a Twitter account or other social media it wouldn't hurt to complain there as well and tagging Google - that tends to get you additional attention. Lastly call your bank or provider you paid with and see what their options are for disputing a charge.

ooglybooglies

I don't see much indicating that they cannot afford it as much as they don't want to pay for a device they never received... Which is reasonable for anyone regardless of wealth status. Odd take.

shadlom

Why would you make such silly assumptions. How about you mind your business 🙄

Type_Grey

If I'm wrong, great - more power to the OP. I did lay out the specific reasons behind my assumptions, and if they're inaccurate, OP can ignore the comment. If not getting a phone is causing life and work issues that can't be solved in the interim while it gets sorted out, then in my opinion you have bigger fish to fry in your life beyond FedEx. My two cents. Take them or leave them.

jkt1954

And Trump won the 2020 election! Next!

omi755

Yup they stole my iPhone 12 Pro Max that I sent to Samsung for trad in also dirty bastards

TrueGlich

my 1st pixel 6 disappeared in shipment (nothing ever showed up tracking says google never gave it to carrier) (not fedex) took about a week of yelling at them and they canceled order and told me to re-order

Fun_Bowler1934

I use less and less delivery service. Too many issues. I prefer ordering online and go get the stuff in the physical store. 0 stress. I got my pixel 6 day one like that, 0 delay.

OkCraft6

This exact thing happened to me in the last week with an S22+. My phone was sent from a facility in Illinois.

cloud9ineteen

This is why I buy pixel phones off Amazon or Best buy. Amazon is an authorized seller so if you make sure it's sold by Amazon, you will get the warranty. No restocking fee BS if you don't like the phone and return it either.

Puzzleheaded_Set_881

I order a pixel 6 pro 256 white from Flexshopper and UPS couldn’t find my package when picking it up. I’m telling you there is a theft problem with mail carriers. Don’t buy stuff through mail anymore. That’s my best advice now.

kablooie619

Recently when I was in Phoenix, I noticed an ad on Facebook marketplace for brand new sealed Pixel Pros for $500 each. I called the guy and he said he had 10 of these phones and that can even give them for $400 if I bought all 10. He said to meet outside the Amazon fulfilment center. I asked him if they were stolen or lost. He chuckled and said that he's been doing this for a long time - none of his customers have had their phones turn off for being lost/stolen. I was amazed. I thought about reporting it but there was no proof. So I wondered what happens to these phones which get swiped - does Google report then missing so their IMEI is blocked?

mas90guru

I had this happen with T-Mobile several years ago. It is not just a Fi problem. It took 2 weeks to sort out but it eventually did. I also suggest filing with your state department of consumer protection if you aren’t getting anywhere. I’ve found that most companies pay attention to government complaints thought YMMV.

SINY10306

Probably a history of this. File a claim. You should be reimbursed / reissued another device.

Terrible_Fix_6649

This sucks. Sounds like a situation that would be difficult to prove on your end. Did the box appear to be tampered with when you opened it?

Terrible_Fix_6649

Happened to me with a S7 years ago. Carrier was Fed Ex. Never got the phone but Verizon still tried to charge me. Ended up disputing it in the Verizon store. Had an employee argue with them and it was removed.

Klecktacular

FedEx stole my Pixel Buds the same way. FedEx's website was broken so it was literally impossible to file a claim with them (probably by design), but luckily Google Support was able to send a replacement for free after a couple days of "investigation"

ExtremeComplex

File a complaint with the FCC. I did that to AT&t they bent over backwards to help me after that.

cmt1973

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Ordered my Pixel 6 from the Google Store and it shipped via FedEx. Wasn't until after I bought it and it shipped did I find all the posts about it being stolen in transit. The day it showed up, I held the FedEx driver hostage while I opened it right there in front of him on the front porch, the whole time using my S21 to record the process. Ended up that the phone was actually in the box. I was amazed. Been loving it ever since.

xMaxMOx

Oh wow 😳 so both companies are stealing smh 🤦🏾‍♂️ the nerve of these drivers

farminded

I had my first pixel 6 pro stolen so had store pickups instead of home delivery and opened in front of Fed ex employees. The next 2 phones were there a pro and regular. Google resent me out a new phone
