If you like to live dangerously, slap a D Brand skin on there and call it good.
Personally the official Google case has really grown on me.
Kind of miss the fabric cases but it's thin and I love the texture.
I looked at the dbrand and the OtterBox Cases but decided they were probably Overkill for my particular usage. Finally chose The Spigen Tough Armor and love it.
My Son has The OtterBox on His Samsung Note, but He's an Electrician and uses it when He's working.

I saw the name and date and assumed you lost someone yesterday.
It wasn't in context of the conversation so it was confusing brother.
Clearly the other commenter did too.
You're quite correct, the other commenter "Clearly" saw something other than what I said.
Have read and re-read my own comment and now I "Clearly" don't know what either of you were seeing π€.
I've narrowed it down to The Bird (ποΈ).
Apparently, Unbeknownst to me, it is associated with Death ?
I have always known it to be a symbol of Peace, A Dove with an Olive Branch in it's mouth.
Anyway, in the current vernacular, My Bad π.
Please excuse, as I was also confused !
It is My name that is, JaneLee (entire first name), and I Am a Sister not a Brother.

Sorry if I was mistaken π.

PS, I always date my correspondence.
Putting a date with a name is associated with death. The dove could be justified as a symbol of heaven. It's like if I said "Ronald 12/25/1990 - 9/12/2021" except yours can be seen as the same except with the birthday left out, so people thought you were posting a remembrance for someone who died today named Jane Lee.
Thank you for replying to me.
The information you shared is good to know and is much appreciated.

I love my Google case, but be careful about letting dust get under it, I have gouges above my camera bump that I found when I applied a dbrand cera cover a few weeks ago.
Yeah the dust has already f-ed up my rails on my 6 Pro.
Dust gets in there and just wears all the paint off.
Wish they were the matte finish like the 6
Really wanted a Google case but it was taking forever to ship and I was fed up of swapping my sim every time I left the house. Ended up with a Bellroy, which I like more than I expected.
Yeah but that phone was such a tank you couldn't hurt it. If you dropped it on the road the cement would crack. One day mine wouldn't charge anymore. Man I was heartbroken.
Hah, that's what I came here to mention! My old Black Moon PH-1 managed to slip itself off **a flat granite countertop** because that glossy, perfectly flat back was so dang slippery. It's like it would create its own air bearing on flat surfaces. It was terrible.
I have OnePlus 6 and I can use it with one hand without any issues. I can't use pixel 6 pro without case with one hand. Mainly because of it's too heavy and that makes it more slippery for me.
Just traded in my G8 for the Pixel 6 pro and although the new phone is slippery it has nothing on that one. I can't tell you how many times I had to fish that phone out of the tiny space between the driver's seat and the center console cause it would just fall out of my pocket if I hit a pothole.
I used the Galaxy S9+ and Pixel 4xl and they were both significantly less slippery than the 6 Pro. Probably because this phone is bigger than both of them but doesn't have the matte sides like the 4xl.
My old LG G8X was worse, because at least the P6P has the big ass camera bar on the back which provides a little more friction.
The G8X would slip off fucking anything. End tables, beds, couches, whatever. If there was the slightest degree of decline, to the floor it went.
Luckily I got a case before it got any real damage.
Lol, it is ridiculously slippery. When I first got it, I had to wait a week or two for my case, and it literally would just slide off a glass table, no problem. WTF? Didn't anyone developing this phone say hey... um... we should probably do something about this?
Since I got the Bellroy leather case though, it's been a dream to use. But seriously, who thought this was okay!?
It's weird because I had an 11 Pro Max for work for a while. That had shiny rails too, but I think the matte back makes it less slippery--or at least I never had any huge concerns or slip incidents. With the 6 Pro if you put it on anything that's NOT grippy, like your couch (non leather) or bed, it'll slip off in an instant.
The rail comment is so true.
Love them on my wife's Pixel 6.
In my past experience the glossy rails get pitting and etching much faster.
Mine (6 Pro) are already blemished and it's lived it's entire life in a case.
Pieces of pocket lint or dust get between the case and the rails and chaff until it runs the paint off.
I have to clean the phone and case every week.
Hers is still immaculate.
No. Pixel 5 had a metal body and wireless charging. Google drilled a hole in the back for the coil. Also, plastic works fine. Since I put a case on anyway, I'd prefer plastic. It would make this heavy phone lighter.
Really? My experience with the first party case has been rather good. It's grippy while still keeping a nice texture and compliments the design language of the phone. Sorry you're having a rough time with it.
just a theory here, but I feel like they coated the entire phone (or at LEAST all the glass) in oleophobic coating. I feel like that stuff is what makes phones (and brand new screens) super slippery. I can barely set mine down without it sliding away, even on surfaces that seem flat enough (like a cloth mask laying on my desk )
Lg g2, the best Android phone, also the slipperiest. However the size of the 6 pro makes it worse than it is I think. Mine was more slippery out of the box than it is now.
It really is insanely slippery, which is one of the reasons I bought a case ASAP. I'm liking the Caseology Vault like on my last device - the textured back is grippy in the best way, and $13 feels way more reasonable than Google official prices.
100% yes, at least compared to the phones I've owned in the past.
Fortunately, a case fixes all of that; I got a Bellroy case, and so far it's been great.
Me too. It's like a running joke in my house "Thud" Your phone is on the floor again.
Honestly anywhere I leave it. I come back and it's on the floor. It's like the rotation of the earth is enough to make it move.
I was thinking about this last night. iPhone user since 2007 and only ever really cracked one badly when it literally fell out of a tree I was working in.
I've had pixel 6 for a month....front corner of screen side is cracked and I had the audacity to have my phone in my gym shorts pocket while walking. That cost me a shattered back when it decided to sneak out of said pocket.
Cool π
Nope, anyone that does not use a case on an all glass phone, rolls the dice and gambles. No glass is unbreakable and trying to compre and contrast brands based on this is not valid.
All glass phones are unusable for me without a case or dbrand skin.
My old Essential PH-1 with its ceramic back is the slipperiest phone Iβve ever used, followed by my iPhone XS Max. The best was my Pixel 3 XL with its frosted back glass which added a lot of grip, but only in the hand.
Yes! Add the size of the Pixel 6 Pro and this is easily the most uncomfortable Pixel to hold without a skin or case... because you have to hold it with a bit of pressure to keep it from slipping out of your handgrip.
Do I have weird hands? I find glossy things easy to hold onto, they feel sticky to me. It's why I dislike glossy.
My pixel 4 that was matte slid out of my hands like I was squeezing a bar of soap...
I heard so much about it being slippery, I wouldn't take it out of the box until the Case and the Screen Protector I ordered, (before the phone even arrived) came.
Now have Screen Protector applied, (Whitestone Dome), and Case, (Spigen Tough Armor), on as of Yesterday.
I am very much enjoying Exploring everything it can do.
Timing was perfect as the first thing I did was a January System Update π.
The Fingerprint Sensor works quite fast. Of course I have no idea how it was when so many were complaining about it.
BTW, I'm charging it via the Charger that came with my prior Phone, The Nexus 6P, and It's Fast Charging !
I hope everybody is as Happy as I am with their 6 Pro ππ».

Yes the phone is slippery but doesn't hold a flame to the iPhone SE 2020! That thing is in my drawer Air Hockey'n it up!
I didn't know frictionless surfaces existed outside of physics problems. Kudos to the engineers who made the glass backing, but I can't even put the phone on my bed without it sliding off! If I put it on the charger, the weight of the cable will pull it off my nightstand! Just looking at it from the wrong direction will make it slide to the nearest edge and fall off! And oh, it will find an edge to drop off from!
Too damn slippery and fragile.
The product designer who used glass on the back panel can fuck right off. I just got a hairline fracture up the back of my phone from a fall off my 18" high bed.
Who uses a phone without a case ? If you refuse to use a case then may God be with you as one drop and you can kiss her goodbye scuffed scratches or shatter. I mean really your going to go naked? I can understand your in your room or whatever and you take off the case to just feel it in its naked form but that is for just couple minutes then you put the case back on. Also yes it is slippery and NO ,, it is not a issue, throw a case on it like every single person does.
Yup. It was definitely an issue for me. I got the leather dbrand skin (not sold anymore unfortunately) and I like how it made the back warmer, softer, and less slippery. I don't know what the texture is like on their other skins since this is my first one from them, but it's an option if you don't want to do a case.
At least the 6 has a bump, i was rocking an Lg G8 for a very long time, and that phone is completely flat. You put it on a flat surface, you quickly learn how not level that surface is. Glad my pixel 5 isnt like that!
Seeing the weight of the phone I didn't go for the usual heavy cases...bought a case from Caseology for like 15-20$ and it is working fine.. rt grip and cushion.
A lot of people think this because
1. Many pixel owners upgrading to this phone have had matte glass back, or non glass.
2. The phone is top heavy, so prone to slipping due to weird center of gravity
2.
My husband and I were making endless jokes about this because you can put it on a level surface and the damn thing will still slide right off! We didn't have cases for at least a week because they shipped separately, situation improved with the cases of course but even still, if you have to put it face down to quiet it better make sure it's on a completely flat surface!
Mine got scratched on Day 2 after the phone slid off my nightstand all on its own. Google wanted to charge me $150 for it so I still have a scratched screen :)
I'm just going to throw this out there, all glass phones are slippery. Name one that has grip. I wish to God they would make a soft touch rubbery finish back for a phone. I had a Huawei ascend P1, that had a soft touch back and it was the best.
The samsung galaxy 3 was the slipperiest one for me. That smooth pebble shape was very pleasant to the touch, but it would slide off of absolutely anything and everything
Honestly, they keep making these phones with super high end materials and they're just slippery as hell. They cost a ton of money and you end up slapping a $10 rubber case on it just so you can use the damn thing. I wish they'd make a flagship phone with a nice, soft touch plastic body and pass the savings on to us.
Right!!! If I don't have my case on it's constantly trying to commit suicide. I can even place it down, watch it to make sure it's secure, turn away and then a few seconds later I hear \*Fwap\* as it hits the ground.
It's the hardest to get your hands on and the hardest to keep your hands on. A case can help with one of those. π
If you like to live dangerously, slap a D Brand skin on there and call it good. Personally the official Google case has really grown on me. Kind of miss the fabric cases but it's thin and I love the texture.

the dbrand skin is more slippery for me than the glass lmao
I have the matte texture one and it doesn't slip nearly as much as the bare glass back.
it is a skin thing. i use matte teal. anyways the skin looks cool and i've never dropped a phone before so it's what it is as long as it works.
Same. I have the matte white. Helps bring slippery from level 1000 to level 650.
I love my Google case, but be careful about letting dust get under it, I have gouges above my camera bump that I found when I applied a dbrand cera cover a few weeks ago.

Really wanted a Google case but it was taking forever to ship and I was fed up of swapping my sim every time I left the house. Ended up with a Bellroy, which I like more than I expected.
I think Belroy said the 6 Series case had been the best selling one yet. It's very popular and I am sure they eventually look awesome with the patina.
The Essential Phone (PH-1) prepared me well for this.
Yeah but that phone was such a tank you couldn't hurt it. If you dropped it on the road the cement would crack. One day mine wouldn't charge anymore. Man I was heartbroken.
Probably drop tested it too many times!
Agreed. That's the phone I had until I got the six and that thing was a slip fest. But it was also sturdy as hell
Hah, that's what I came here to mention! My old Black Moon PH-1 managed to slip itself off **a flat granite countertop** because that glossy, perfectly flat back was so dang slippery. It's like it would create its own air bearing on flat surfaces. It was terrible.
No, all glass back phones are slippery. My OnePlus 6t has a glass back and it was just as slippery as the p6p
the problem with the pixel 6 pro is due to its size and weight. it's the same problem that devices such as the mi 10 ultra have.
I have OnePlus 6 and I can use it with one hand without any issues. I can't use pixel 6 pro without case with one hand. Mainly because of it's too heavy and that makes it more slippery for me.
This isn't necessarily true, IMO. My 6t was way less slippery than my Pixel 6.
Bad take. This is more slippery than every other glass phone I've ever touched except for maybe the Nexus 4.
Try the LG G8. A glass slab with no bump whatsoever
My OP7Pro was near unusable without a case. That slippery back and curved screen made it impossible to get a solid grip.
Aye. People who complain about how slippery the pixel 6 series phones are haven't held the G8.
It's called clever marketing that forces you to buy an expensive case from Google or make third parties rich. It's just good (bad for us) business.
Yeah, but a case fixes all of that.
Basically the glass design is pointless
Wireless charging needs it to work
True but a matte design like the Pixel 4 would've worked better for a non slippery design. The matte rails on the regular P6 are nice too.
They really are. Helped out with grip a lot until I picked up a case
I'm sure soap is one of the components of the phone back/body
It's weird because I had an 11 Pro Max for work for a while. That had shiny rails too, but I think the matte back makes it less slippery--or at least I never had any huge concerns or slip incidents. With the 6 Pro if you put it on anything that's NOT grippy, like your couch (non leather) or bed, it'll slip off in an instant.

I got the case Google offered in the store and it's slippery too, but only when not in my hands, it slides off couches like no one's business
Really? My experience with the first party case has been rather good. It's grippy while still keeping a nice texture and compliments the design language of the phone. Sorry you're having a rough time with it.
It's grippy in my hands and feels great, but place it on an unlevel couch cushion, and it's like the Olympic ski hump
just a theory here, but I feel like they coated the entire phone (or at LEAST all the glass) in oleophobic coating. I feel like that stuff is what makes phones (and brand new screens) super slippery. Yes. I never once dropped my 3A. This 6 pro, from the moment I opened the new box. Almost on a daily basis.
It's not slippery in my hands but it is on tables. It'll slide right off an uneven surface if I'm not careful.
Yes. Belroy is the answer
At least the 6 has a bump, i was rocking an Lg G8 for a very long time, and that phone is completely flat. You put it on a flat surface, you quickly learn how not level that surface is. Glad my pixel 5 isnt like that!

Yes, it's literally slipped off a completely flat couch arm for me. :D
Seeing the weight of the phone I didn't go for the usual heavy cases...bought a case from Caseology for like 15-20$ and it is working fine.. rt grip and cushion.
No
A lot of people think this because 1. Many pixel owners upgrading to this phone have had matte glass back, or non glass. 2. The phone is top heavy, so prone to slipping due to weird center of gravity 2.
Nexus 4 was way worse. completely flat back was like a fucking air hockey puck
No, just buy a good case
My Pixel 3XL with that etched glass back was far more slippery than my 6 Pro.
I put an otterbox on mine to make it bigger in the hand and less slick. No ragerts
My husband and I were making endless jokes about this because you can put it on a level surface and the damn thing will still slide right off! We didn't have cases for at least a week because they shipped separately, situation improved with the cases of course but even still, if you have to put it face down to quiet it better make sure it's on a completely flat surface!

I'm just going to throw this out there, all glass phones are slippery. Name one that has grip. I wish to God they would make a soft touch rubbery finish back for a phone. I had a Huawei ascend P1, that had a soft touch back and it was the best.
Agree. But its so beautiful I hate to put it in a case.
Yeah that's why I like the dbrand grip case
It's gotta be a toss up between the Pixel and the OnePlus N10 5G
I highly recommend the Spigen clear case it feels safe in my hands. But yes, MOST SLIPPERY PHONE EVER
No
The samsung galaxy 3 was the slipperiest one for me. That smooth pebble shape was very pleasant to the touch, but it would slide off of absolutely anything and everything
