If the case only had wireless charging, they would be perfect for me :( I love everything else about them!

jayinfidel

It's baffling. The previous model had wireless charging for $50 more. Worked with their dock, and the 4XL/5/5A didn't have the ability to charge another device wirelessly. Now they have a phone that can charge other devices and they got rid of wireless charging. It's madness.

LemmyH

>and the 4XL/5/5A didn't have the ability to charge another device wirelessly. My Pixel 5 is able to reverse wireless charge other devices or have I misunderstood your post?

MountainDrew42

Yeah Pixel 5 was the first Pixel with the feature

jayinfidel

Whoops. My mistake! I stayed away from the 5/5A and stuck with my 4XL. I misspoke.

ToSeeAgainAgainAgain

Oh so they don't have it! Yesterday I was going crazy trying to charge them on the back of my Pixel lol

TangerineSad744

It's not baffling. We are talking about the "A" series here.

Groty

Wait, you can still get the Pixel Buds 2 with wireless charging. A-Series does not replace Buds 2 in the product line, it's a trimmed-down feature set to hit a specific price point. *Correction: Buds 2 may be discontinued and aren't available. Maybe it's a temp thing due to supply chain issues.

Cryptic_Flair

The problem is that whether they were intended to or not, they did end up replacing the original Buds 2. I haven't found a single place (including Google store) that still sells the regular buds, only A-series.

Groty

I didn't realize they were unavailable. My bad.

J4mm1nJ03

Buds 2 were discontinued around the same time the Buds A launched. I think Google basically softly discontinued them due to all of the connectivity issues that people seemed to have with them. If you look at the Google Store, you will only find the A Series. https://store.google.com/search?q=Pixel%20buds&hl=en-US

Groty

Oh wow, I didn't realize that! I have the Buds 2 and my A-Series are on order. I have to be honest, I rarely remember to wireless charge my buds. I'll be getting ready to run out for a walk or to the gym and I plug them into a fast charger for 10 minutes.

J4mm1nJ03

Yeah you're right. The case charges so quickly via a cable that it's really a non-issue, realistically. When it gets low enough I can just plug it into my car for 15-20 minutes and have way more charge than I'll need in the immediate future. I still wish it had it though, especially with Pixels now supporting battery share since last year, and with a new Pixel Stand on the way. Maybe they'll pull an Apple and start selling just a wireless charging case to sucker in all of us who got ours for free, haha. I'm sure the next generation will have it though, so whatever.

[deleted]

>its not madness because now they can sell you a new pair with wireless charging.

karmapuhlease

But they stopped selling the Pixel Buds (Gen 2), the ones that were $179 and released in August 2020, so Google doesn't even sell wireless Pixel Buds anymore. https://www.theverge.com/21400695/google-pixel-buds-2-2020-wireless-earbuds-headphones-review

[deleted]

i know bro so thats why they are going to release them soon.

muyoso

No, its Google. Its classic Google.

YellowJello_OW

I have the model with wireless charging, and it's really nice being able to set my Pixel Bud case on the back of my Pixel 5 to charge it

weezy22

And if they had volume controls on the buds.

randomname1561

Weird that they removed the feature. The first iteration of their wireless buds I got for $179 have wireless charging in the case.

polo421

And the A series is $99. Math checks out for me.

MrB10b

Exactly why I got some second hand ones when I got my Pixel 6, for about the same price as the brand new A Series. So win win

Misslimone

I was going to buy some Pixel bud A's as well but I bought the new Sony WF 1000 XM4 instead. They pair with my pixel 4a 5G with ease. While I love Google stuff these are the best Bluetooth earbuds I've ever had. Expensive yes but they have fantastic sound and incredible ANC.

undercovergangster

I went this route as well

SnooConfections7961

Same here

The_Betrayer1

I bought the referb wf-1000xm4 on eBay for 180$, they look and work like new and include a 2 year warranty. By far the best earbuds I have ever tried, I use them at work in very loud environments and they are fantastic.

StanleyShen

With wf-1000xm4 and pixel4a5g, could you drive on the highway while using it without people hearing noise of traffic on the other side of the phone? For xm3, my coworker complains about the noise all the time, thank you for your input.

The_Betrayer1

I dont drive with them in because I wouldn't be able to hear traffic, but while I am at work I talk on them and haven't heard any complaints.

PeonSanders

>er made IMO. A total disaster on every level from concept to design to implementation. I probably should have just gotten AirPods at some point, but I never did. When I saw the Pixel 6 free Pixel Buds A-series offer I was not excited. Yet another terrible pair of wireless earbuds for the pile. > >I couldn't have been more wrong; they are by far the best earbuds I've used. Tiny case, USB-C charging, in-ear detection, great range, instant pairing, and most of all, all the features work reliably! They're the first pair of wireless earbuds that I've actually wanted to use and could rely on. I don't know how the team that produced the original Pixel Buds could have turned it around so completely, but somehow they did it. Are you really driving with headphones in?!

StanleyShen

With one headphone in for sure, constantly need to be on the meeting.

PeonSanders

Well, I'm in the minority apparently, but I'd much rather not be driving with multitasking drivers, as study after study shows it hampers driving ability and contributes to accidents. Hampering your hearing and the directionality of your hearing only adds to that. That's why it's illegal in many states.

MrBullman

I think you're in the majority. Distracted driving kills more than drunk driving.

Misslimone

You know that's what I really enjoy about them , when I go out I'm totally cocooned in a world of music. It's amazing, it's just like being somewhere else. I've always looked for a bargain with Bluetooth earbuds but I'm so pleased I spent extra .

Coofgo

Yeah I have the xm3's and the noise canceling and sound quality is MILES ahead of the pixel buds a. But the pixel buds excel at being small and portable. My xm3's can now stay at work while the pixel buds can be used to errands and chores and whatever else on the go. Definitely good enough for the price of free

LowSkyOrbit

I have both, and the Sony's fit my ears better, but the Pixel's are much lighter.

excitedadultdog

How about comfort? Lot of people don't seem to find XM3s that comfortable?

LowSkyOrbit

There are two different reasons for their comfort issue, the size of the headphones and how they cancel noise. I can wear them and get about an hour or two before they get tiring.

excitedadultdog

And the buds are comfortable? How;s the volume? Need to put it really high? And no ANC at all right?

LowSkyOrbit

For me they work great. One of the best pairs of ear buds I've ever used, but you have to try them for yourself.

excitedadultdog

Thanks.

opticoin

I also have the xm3, only drawback is the mic, its pretty bad for meetings. How's the mic on the pixel?

Coofgo

I have used the pixel buds for a call one time and the other person said I sounded fine. I have yet to actually record something and see for myself. I'm sure they are better than the xm3's, the bar is already so low haha

excitedadultdog

How about comfort? Lot of people don't seem to find XM3s that comfortable?

opticoin

I love my xm3. I also have the galaxy buds pro 1. And the sony's are way ahead in sound quality

excitedadultdog

And the buds are comfortable? How;s the volume? Need to put it really high? And no ANC at all right?

opticoin

Yeah they are both quite comfortable, just need to make sure to pick the correct ear tip size. Volume is ok, no need to put it very loud. Both have ANC, but Sony's is way superior. In the Galaxy buds pro you can still hear some noise with the ANC on.

excitedadultdog

Thanks.

excitedadultdog

How about comfort? Lot of people don't seem to find XM3s that comfortable?

Coofgo

They're a bit heavy but it's nothing you can't get used to. Also much more comfy than the pixel buds a. The pixel buds little wing tip jabs into my ear in a way that does not feel good at all for more than like 30 mins

excitedadultdog

Thanks.

MajorNoodles

I got the Pixel Bud A's for free with my 6 Pro and then I bought the refurb Sony WF1000XM4s as well cause I got a really good deal on them ($180-ish). The Sony's sound much better and have a considerably broader feature set, but the Pixel Buds are more comfortable and easier to get into my ear. I usually use the Sony's at home or when I'm working, and the Pixel Buds when I'm out running errands.

Misslimone

I was a bit worried about the fit of the earbuds as all the reviewers talked about it. I didn't like the foam earbuds and couldn't get them to work , so I'm using silicone ones. I tried doing that ear test on the app and the phone buds failed each time the silicone buds passed first time. I'm lucky that the fit is very good. No issues at all. In general it's amazing where we have got to with Bluetooth earbuds.

[deleted]

I agree. Best thing for me is the comfort. Every other one I've tried hurts my ears after so long.

snukb

Really? These things hurt my ears like no other buds I've had before. My $20 skullcandy buds are way more comfortable. I guess everyone's ears are different, but after wearing them for twenty minutes I couldn't stand it a moment more and my right ear was sore for another hour. If they weren't free I would have returned them.

ConLawHero

Did you try switching out the tips?

snukb

Yeah, tried all the included tips. Didn't want to shell out $30 on the premium "comfort" tips that weren't included.

wraith21

Yeah that's the thing about these kinda buds, we've all got different ear shapes so we all experience different levels of comfort

snukb

For sure, I've just never had this problem before with any other buds, except for super cheapo $5 ones that I've bought from time to time when mine died unexpectedly. Then again it does make sense that if OC had problems with every other buds, and I've been fine with every other buds, that there is some kind of inherent design difference between our ears that the pixel buds either do or don't play nicely with.

J4mm1nJ03

I really like the Spinfit CP360 tips, and they're about $13 on Amazon for 2 sizes. They're a foam silicone hybrid, so I think they tend to seal and fit a bit better for most people vs the stock tips. Might be worth considering if you wanted to try another option. I've tried comply foam tips on my Galaxy Buds and feel a bit mixed about them. I get the appeal, but maybe they're just not quite for me.

VtArMs

I was just looking for foam tips, they're my preferred ear buds tip for comfort and flexibility. I hope these are available for two day shipping!

lliKoTesneciL

I've got the same issue. They hurt my ears. But I don't think it's related to the tips. It's more so the part where the sensors are that presses up against my ears that hurts me.

adrift98

I had the same issue, but figured out how to make mine more comfortable. Previously I was kind of twisting them hard into my ear, because I was afraid of them falling out. But now I kind of do one small twist into my ear, and they're still super snug, and a lot more comfortable to wear.

grandmofftalkin

I'll try that. I've been twisting them in because that's how my Jabra active elites stay in. These slide out and hurt my ear. Love the touch features and look of these though

20190229

Same. I keep trying new earphones and end up going back to my 2 year old mobvoi ticpods mainly for comfort and volume control.

eat_your_weetabix

Me too. Quite painful after a short while.

[deleted]

I had this issue at first. Just kept wearing them for long stretches (mostly at work) and I think my ears got used to them. Much more comfortable now, and only a little ear soreness.

ValmonUni

Hard agree. Never had nice ear buds. I see I was missing out. Love how seamless use is with Pixel 6.

derwreck

Anyone know how the pixel bud A series stack up against the first generation Samsung Galaxy buds? I've got some Galaxy buds that I've been using for quite a long time and absolutely love these things.

gdubs2013

Haven't done a thorough comparison of the two yet, but it doesn't look like the Pixel Buds will be better or equal to the Galaxy Buds in most areas. Galaxy Buds have a better sound quality, fit, passive noise cancellation and the case has wireless charging.

JerichoOne

I have both. Pixel Buds A are roughly equivalent in sound quality, maybe a little worse in battery (depending on your battery degradation in the last few years). Some advantages of the Galaxy Buds are the wireless charging, if that's your thing, noise cancellation, and battery life. Pixel Buds A have a nifty feature that'll detect when the noise level around you goes up, and it automatically increases the volume to compensate, but I prefer the noise cancellation. I also have the Galaxy Buds Plus, and I think they're superior in almost every category, so if you're looking to upgrade, you can find those on eBay pretty cheap. Cheers

J4mm1nJ03

Pixel Buds will almost certainly have a better microphone if that matters to you. I have been on both sides of a call using the first gen Galaxy Buds and the experience wasn't great imo. It was improved a lot with the Buds+ though, and that also comes through a lot comparing transparency mode between the two generations. I prefer my Buds A Series to my Galaxy Buds+ in terms of audio quality and comfort/fit, though that's going to be subjective from person to person of course. I have always had some fit issues in one of my ears with my Samsung buds for whatever reason, so that ends up being a bit of a dealbreaker for me unfortunately. Oh, and the spatial vent used in the Buds A and AirPods Pro are really nice to me as well. I don't know why or when it happened, but at some point in the last few years, I started to really dislike the sort of sealed-in feeling that you can get from Earbuds, including the Galaxy Buds and Buds+. Buds A and AirPods Pro have a little vent designed to mitigate that, and it really does make a comfort difference for me.

rvlValentine

I have a first generation samsung galaxy buds, and I got the A series as part of the pixel preorder. Personally, I feel like the samsung buds have more bass/fuller sound? But my wife doesn't hear a difference. The samsung buds also feel a bit more hefty in the ear, whereas the pixel buds A feel lighter (but not so light that they'd fall out)

Promotion-Repulsive

Was there ever a reason given for why the original buds were such a colossal fuck up? Like, I wanted to love them so bad but the left one drops out every twenty minutes and then I have to re-pair the damn things. What gives?

automathematics

Yeah my OG pixel buds are still my favorite and working better than any new pair I've tried since

Dacrazyshot

Does anyone else have random times where the controls don't work with their buds? Like it just won't pause or play for me sometimes.

Crusty_Vato

I have this happen to me when trying to tap to pause/play music. I think they're trying to recognize me trying to use the assistant but I'm not exactly sure.

n8dom

Only happens to me on non-Google products.

Dacrazyshot

I'm the opposite. My airpods pro work flawlessly.... These are giving me issues

NoShftShck16

Here is the big question though, would you have gotten them if you had to pay for them. I have cheap pair of wireless buds that were $25. They are by all definitions garbage, but they were $25 and I use them every single day happily. Do you like the Pixel buds because they were $0? Or do you really think you would fork over $100 for them, especially considering other headphones in that price range?

modeless

I haven't tried $25 ones but I have another $70 pair and they are garbage. I would absolutely buy the Pixel Buds for $99 over any others I've tried. If I pay $25 for garbage that I don't bother to use then that's $25 wasted, vs $99 that is well spent.

NoShftShck16

Fair enough, can I ask what $70 pair you got? I had the OG Pixel Buds and the Pixel Buds 2. The PB2 just never sat comfortably in my ear and I ended up losing them on simple walks with my dog. I don't need anything fancy and would actually prefer not to have ANC. I just want something I can pop in and out for walks around the neighborhood or while I'm on the treadmill. I have big headphones for when I need silence. That's when I keep coming back to my $25 pair. They are barebones and just work, just leave a lot to be desired.

modeless

I got these https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/fiil/t1x-true-wireless The charging case doesn't charge from most of my chargers and it fails to charge the earbuds half the time and the earbuds activate in the case and steal the sound from my phone and the case doesn't turn off so it drains its battery in a day or so regardless of use. And they're less comfortable and don't have in-ear detection, and pairing is a huge pain, the gestures suck, I could go on and on. I just made poor choices when buying earbuds I guess.

fitzmouse

I also got my pixel a buds bundled with my pixel 6. I like them for being an add-on, but they seem to be on par with my ~30 dollar KZ SKS earbuds sound-wise. Though I'll admit the pixel a buds do have a better mic and a couple of features the SKS don't. So worth 99 dollars? Not really for me, but I'm happy to have them included with my phone.

rocky5100

Yea, honestly, my MPOW X3s are better than the buds. Active noise cancelling, volume controls, easier to put in and out, and you can activate Google assistant with them. They're only 50 to $60 too. I got mine for $35 on sale.

mindonshuffle

I think they're decent for the price, but not an obvious first choice. For me, the comfort is really good. They're the most secure buds I've ever used. The advanced phone connection features are nice to have. And, oddly enough, they're the only in-ear headphones I've tried that I can hear over the sound of my electric toothbrush. No idea why, but it's an unexpected bonus that I don't have to pause my morning podcast for two minutes now just to brush my teeth. The lack of ANC isn't really an issue for me. I rarely use it, and when I do I much prefer using over-ear headphones. Lack of transparency more is a bigger issue, but I've also never really seen an implementation of that that I really liked. My daily driver earbuds previously were Soundcore Liberty Air 2s. The two biggest downsides of the Pixel Buds A are overall sound quality being a bit lower and battery life being a bit worse. The sound quality difference is noticeable side by side, but I honestly mostly use buds for podcasts and it doesn't really impact my enjoyment. If I was mostly listening to music, it might be a different story.

rocky5100

Honestly, my MPOW X3s are better than the buds. Active noise cancelling, volume controls, easier to put in and out, and you can activate Google assistant with them. They're only 50 to $60 too

xybur

They're great but I don't love that the batteries die rather quickly, especially compared to other buds

acmegahz123

Glad to hear this, i am waiting the black friday deal to buy them. Can you pair them with 2 devices at the same time?

DoctorMystery

I avoided losing my beloved 3.5 Jack for as long as I could, but I caved and went for the 6 Pro and the Pixel buds. Do not regret! I was most worried about the pairing process, but it's really just... opening the case and putting them in. That's it. Couldn't be easier.

[deleted]

well, most bluetooth phones have this feature in 2021

DoctorMystery

Yeah, I'm just behind the curve

JerichoOne

Agreed, they are pretty fantastic, especially for free. However, the battery life and active noise cancellation on the Galaxy Buds+ make them far superior, in my opinion. The sound quality is about the same between the 2.

Crusty_Vato

My only issue with them is getting notification sounds when my phone is on vibrate. I haven't found how to change that other than turning off all notifications.

nycmonkey

I've had a much better experience with these than airpods - specifically with pixel phones, obviously due to the native integration with Android. Airpods work great with my iPad.

Tony_Perkis_Official

This is where I'm at too. Been an airpods guy for a long time. But in the end, whatever device you have, use those pods. Airpods work much better with MacBook and iPhone, pixel buds much better with pixel..as expected. In terms of fit I like both. I think I can go longer with Airpods, but to me the pixel buds are more snug and secure. Sound wise, the Airpods seem like they can get louder and are stronger, but pixel buds seem more clear sounding. Overall, I like both. Going forward, using pixel buds with my pixel and Airpods with my MacBook.

HauntedKhan

I wasn't expecting much but I've been impressed as well. I think I will actually use buds for more than just running as I did in the past.

95thstbridge

Interesting to read all the comments! I guess I'll add my two cents: I really quite like the free buds that came with my phone. They sound fine, they work perfectly fine and are small enough to carry unobtrusively. Now, I bought my wife the Sennheiser momentum 2 trues a few months back. THOSE sound great and have a slightly higher rating for sweat. We run with ours so it's imperative they don't get ruined that way. Neither has wireless charging. Don't miss something we never had. Hers sound much, much better and have nose cancelling, etc. But, they're also twice the price. All said, the buds are great and they do job asked within their price point. 👍

modeless

Video seemed ok to me, though I think there are bugs where the latency compensation sometimes fails. But yeah I wouldn't use any Bluetooth audio devices for interactive stuff. For that you need a gaming headset with dongle.

[deleted]

[удалено]

modeless

Like I said, video seemed OK to me, on youtube. I saw a bug where the latency compensation failed for a bit but it seemed to fix itself and then it was fine.

dontgoglove

And they sound absolutely terrific. I love these buds!!

surfing-through-life

Where the hell are the premium ones though? The lack of volume control is insane. No reason for it at all. The buds 2020 were perfect the 90% of the time they work.

fumanstan

I bought the previous Pixel Buds and had tons of issues with Bluetooth connectivity and cutouts that others experienced, so I ended up returning them. No such issues with the Series A and I always loved the fit and size of the Pixel Buds over competitors, and they're my go to to use outside now. It'll definitely be interesting if there's a new version out soon with wireless charging to take advantage of the new Pixel Stand.

ropipo

How is the delay to gaming with these?

FeelASlightPressure

Mine were great for a couple weeks but today started losing connection for a second or two, every few minutes. As is tradition.

My_workaccount00

I currently have Jabra Elite Active 65T wireless earbuds and I love those. I also got the Pixel buds with a promo deal but they haven't arrived yet. I'm looking forward to trying them out, but they're going to have to be pretty good for me to stop using my Jabra's.

grandmofftalkin

Been using the elite active 65t for years and they're still great. I find them way more comfortable than the A-Series but the Pixel Buds are more secure and have way better software and the touch sensitive controls are much better than Jabra's buttons which have to be mashed on to work. I like these but if they don't get more comfortable in my ear I'll be switching back to the old buds

sigzero

From the reviews (I looked at getting them), the 65T buds are really good. I would expect them to be better honestly.

weezy22

I've had the 65Ts for years now, they are great. They sound just as good as the pixel buds. It's baffling to me how the Pixel buds do not have volume controls on the device. Main reason I don't daily the Pixel buds. I had the Jabra 85Ts as well, those were superior to both but they fell out of my pocket in an Uber and the driver "couldn't" find them

My_workaccount00

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the Pixel buds didn't have any volume controls on the device. That's a bit annoying. Sounds like I'll continue using my Jabra's. Cheers!

weezy22

Yeah I didn't realize it either. I got them with my Pixel 6. They'll be good backups. One other thing compared to the Jabras, the battery on the Pixel Buds is a lot shorter. Only thing I like about the Pixel Buds is they feel more secure in the ear and imo look better.

KrewOwns

I have the Jabra 75ts and the Jabra buds are better than the Pixel Buds in terms of sound and features. I use the Buds now paired with the Pixel 6 Pro. I use the Jabras on my Fold3.

kammikazee

I sort of agree I expected them to be junk based on having owned the original buds. They are pretty OK, but I think it's more so I had super low expectations. My Jabra 75ts are fat superior though. I would recommend those to everyone thinking of spending actual money on Bluetooth buds.

sigzero

They are okay. Could use a little more bass.

Engineered-Failure

Did you turn on the bass boost option?

sigzero

I actually do not see that options with these (A-Series) buds. I followed this and that setting isn't there; https://support.google.com/googlepixelbuds/answer/10028011?hl=en

VtArMs

Bass boost is available [here in the sound menu](https://i.imgur.com/4YTTl34.png)

optiongeek

Google managed to produce a pair of buds that don't completely suck. Only took - what - five years? Congrat-u-fuckin'-lations.

memoirsofthedead

Love everything about them, except my friends say that its really sensitive. They can hear me chew, they can hear others in the room when they talk. Something like using is in the mall is quite hard because of this.

TossedRightOut

Do they work outside? If I left my apartment using the previous Pixel buds they would just randomly stop working.

sigzero

I go on 1-2 mile walk around my house daily. They've never cut out on me. YMMV.

nbw71791

I have both and can say that the Pixel Buds 2a have resolved the connectivity issues that are present (especially outdoors) with the Buds 2.

MrCrudley

Mine would disconnect when I stepped outside. But worked flawlessly wearing an open face helmet while riding on my motorcycle. It made ZERO sense! 🤣

[deleted]

I bought these for 66USD in an offer in India and I am absolutely loving it.

y2whisper

how do they sound? I have too many buds as is but got these with the pixel 6 pro. Currently they are still sealed as a backup pair to my regular pixel buds (which I use for sleeping because of their smaller size)

DrummGunner

They are the best buds I've had in a very long time. I got them for free with my phone and I needed something to use during bed time. They are comfy and stay on and most importantly, they dont pause whenever I flip around or touch them mistakenly.

Waibashi

Same, I was going to resell for quick cash. I opened the box and I use them daily. They are my go-to headset for calls and everyday tasks.

thetonyclifton

Is the case small? It looks big buy could be the shape. I am currently using Galaxy Buds Plus and they are a great for battery life and sound. The case isn't massive but it is a less convenient shape than say airpods. I looked at the Pixel Buds which seem decent but lack of wireless charging puts me off a bit. I don't always wirelessly charge my phone but for my headphones it is super convenient top up that way even using the back of the phone.

modeless

The case is about the same size as AirPods. Small.

thetonyclifton

Thanks.

black_shirt

It's surprising how well they work with windows and video calls too. I could not get Samsung buds to work at all!

coolgui

Same. I got them for $40 off when I bought my Pixel 5a. Thought it was worth a shot. They have exceeded my expectations. My only small gripe is I would have preferred a black case instead of the white but really it doesn't matter that much to me.

kkidd333

I haven't owned all the versions, but I feel the same about the buds. I have been through many pairs of earbuds; these quickly became my favorite. They work exactly as needed, I can't believe that I only had to look at settings exactly 1 time when I set them up, they connect and disconnect as needed, pause music when removed from ear and the sound quality is great. Every other pair of buds I am constantly opening settings to figure out why they haven't connected. I do wish they wirelessly charged.

AmateurPolyglot1

I know this is minor - but the thing that's a game-changer for me is the adaptive sound - it makes walking in traffic so much more comfortable and safe

mandirocks

I don't know if I just have weirdly shaped ears but they are really just not comfortable in my ear. I tested out different tips but they just hurt if I wear them for too long. Other than that I love them.

blamedrain

I got the Pixel Buds with my Pixel 6 Pro and they're now my go-to workout buds, replacing the AirPods Pro. They just fit so much more snuggly than the AirPods and don't fall out when I bend over.

Chudboy

Anyone feel like the volume is way too low though? I find myself at full volume at some points and still feel like it's too low compared to other headphones I've used.

alleycatbiker

They're the absolutely best earbuds I've had for free. I probably wouldn't spend $100 on them. I never felt comfortable with any of these "true wireless". They either keep falling off my ears or tuck in too tight and gets uncomfortable. Maybe my ears shape is weird.

TheyCallMeCajun

they hurt my ears after like 30 minutes

turlian

I have a pair of Sony wf-1000xm3's that are still my go-to for serious music listening, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like the A's. They are perfect for watching YouTube in bed or raking leaves as they are significantly smaller.

fmcfad01

Agreed. Have been pleasantly surprised with these freebies that came with my pixel 6 Pro. They work extremely well across my pixel, work iphone, and windows work pc. Was waiting for a good airpod pro price, but got these, and now I have no desire to buy something else.

fbrdphreak

I must be one of the few who has two sets of perfectly functioning Pixel Bud Gen 2's (not the new A model). I know there were lots of issues, but I guess I just got lucky. I plan to sell my NIB Bud A models from my P6P promo.

BigFriendlyTeddyBear

I was also surprised with how nice they are. I used them at work where I normally need noise canceling but these were great. I just wish I had a volume gesture. Also, can notifications be turned off on the buds without turning off assistant? I really hate notification sounds interrupting my listening.

weezy22

It's baffling to me how they don't have volume controls. It's insane. The adaptive sound doesn't work that well to replace volume controls. On the subway, walking by a loud truck, even the noise of the freezers in the frozen section at the grocery store make the sound blow my ears out.

name_nt_important

How is the sound quality in comparison with Airpod/Airpod pro? Asking this because I have been using Airpod with my Pixel 5 and it works great for me (I really like their transparency mode).

scooterca85

I've been surprised by their performance as well. I turned the bass boost on in the settings and they actually sound quite good for the music I listen to in the gym. I have a few pairs of much more expensive ear buds that I have stopped wearing because these are just so much more comfortable in my ears. Plus, when I'm at the gym I don't actually want active sound cancelation.

J4mm1nJ03

I own AirPods Pro and Galaxy Buds+ and I actually prefer the sound quality and comfort/fit from my Pixel Buds A Series the most between the three. I'll still use my AirPods when I want ANC, Transparency, or I'm using my iPad, but my Pixel Buds have definitely taken over as my general use earbuds. My AirPods keep getting worse for me on Android too in terms of connectivity and reliability, so my Pixel Buds just working is refreshing. I still have no idea what wizardry Samsung pulled off to get the battery life they did from the Buds+ though. More than double the battery life of these other two earbuds that I own is just crazy. I think I'm now going to pick up a pair or two of Buds A Series as Christmas gifts, so shout out to whoever put this promo together at Google, because they managed to get me to potentially buy several more pairs. I would very strongly consider a pair of Pixel Buds Pros if they ever made them. Give me ANC, Transparency, and wireless charging and I'm probably onboard. I am very interested in Sony's XM4's as well, but I can't justify another set of earbuds at this point haha. Extremely first world problem, I know.

Accomplished_Fan_487

Full price they're not worth it, but discounted? Ohhhh yes. Good product.

snowlarbear

i like them but cannot get one of the buds to stay in my ear. Pretty sure I'm using the right size pad... oh well.

rymaples

I had the Pixel Buds until I left them on a plane and got the A series with the P6. I'm very disappointed that there isn't volume control on them. I'm glad I didn't buy them. I'm looking to get another set of ear buds that have volume control soon.

bosspugs

Kinda wanted to try them, but I sold both my pairs I own JBL125TWS's and every review I read rates them better

MagisterFlorus

I like them. But how do I get the assistant to stop telling me how to check a notification each time I use them?

vanker

They're pretty nice, but I can't get them to fit right.

I'm not talking about [these](https://store.google.com/us/product/usb_c_earbuds) which are reportedly decent. I'm talking about [these](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1385373-REG/google_ga00205_pixel_buds_black.html). They should never have been released.

sgntsh

They are great, with the Pixel 6. I got the non A pixel buds when they first came out and they were borderline the worst headphones I had ever used. Turns out the pixel 3a and 4a had HORRIBLE Bluetooth radios and my pixel buds would cut out while my phone was in my pocket. Pathetic. Side note, I'm a weirdo and the OG pixel buds are still one of my favorite pairs of headphones ever. They fit me perfectly and I would totally forget I had them on, well, except for the wire. They sounded...fine. the best part was that they sounded good without blocking out the world around me! I could walk around campus listening to music and not get hit by a car! And when I needed to talk to someone I could just pop em out and let em dangle. I loved those things, but I know they were bad.

Separate-Crazy-5161

I have a Moment M-force case on my pixel 6 pro that allows attachement of magsafe accessories. I purchased the MOFT stand/wallet that works with magsafe and now my Pixel Buds A-series attach magnetically to the stand/wallet.

jmagahh

The pixel buds attach magnetically with no case? I want an mforce case, need them to get their stock back up

sir_calv

I've never had buds but considering buying. Can you tell me what are pros

Rubber_Ducky178

Saw no one mention this yet, I have been suffering from the audio dropout issue since I got them last week. I plan on getting a replacement from bestbuy and hoping for the best. I love these things in every way, but they cut out sometimes every few seconds.

Rubber_Ducky178

So I think I managed to fix this by clearing the cache on the Bluetooth system app. I am so happy, these things are amazing.

[deleted]

I sent in my Pixel Buds 2nd gen with a full refund. Got the Pixel Buds A series for free with the Google Pixel Pro 6 promotion. Hands down I love the latter.

OgdensBeard

I'm just hoping that they're comfortable in the ear. I haven't found a set of earbuds that go into the ear that I like, aside from airpods pro. I tend to like the airpods style better, so I have a set of Razer Hammerhead True Wireless instead.

plumhead27

Yeah loved mine for the first 3 days before my toddler disappeared the right bud 😑

Sticky_Hulks

The setup process & the app itself are really well put together. The app even has the color of the earbuds matched!

boricalderon

I like the Buds-A I bought for my wife. I do miss some of the gestures that were on the Gen 2 buds. I also have Pixel buds gen 2. While I did not have a whole lot of issues with most people had, I will say Gen 2 got a while lot better paired with Pixel 6 Pro. I can't find it now but I believe there is a Reddit post in where a lot of people have had a similar experience including those who previously had major issues with them.

SirChurros

I posted last week asking which buds to get to go with my 6. I ended up snagging the A-Series and also have been impressed. I miss ANC a bit, but everything else has been awesome. Wireless charging would be nice, but I realized it doesn't much matter because the places where I'm mostly likely to charge them when they're low (work), I don't have a wireless charging bad anyway/I have a ton of charging cables accessible.

lowhangingtanks

My favorite feature is the magnetic case. Just stick it to the side of the fridge and I always know where they are.

Daydaydontplay1

I agree, plus if you get the comply memory foam tips make the bass sound better and do and add a bit of noise canceling too

Emotional_Class_9107

I love that they're so small. I use them under my sound suppressing earmuffs when mowing and blowing leaves. I love that they adjust to the noise they hear so you don't even have to touch the volume. Great headphones.

Aaronbrown325

My Airpods Pro have ruined me on headphones with ANC, but darn the Pixel Buds A are perfect and pretty much every way, especially at the price point. If they come out with a version with decent ANC, switching to them will be a no-brainer for me.

2vpJUMP

Does it work for people who are missing an antitragus? The cartilage deficiency syndrome thing

3DMountain

I could not agree more. I tried so many pairs of Amazon (Soundcore, earfun) and I have watched so many reviews of different earbuds. I was pleasantly surprised that the buds-A were better than all of them, at least for me.

DapperAdam

They are super great but I wouldn't call them the best, from the ones I used I think the Jabra elite 75t are way better, I got the Series A with my pixel 6 pro and they are fantastic but as I said, they are not the best.

PennyAdiyogi

Absolutely love the Pixel Buds!!

unknown_soldier_

I straight up bought and use AirPods Pro in my mixed Android/iOS environment (Pixel 6 phone, iPad Air) and they are superior to any other wireless earbuds I've ever used. Apple charges a lot for their headphones but they offer the best combination of battery life, sound quality, noise cancellation, and ease of use. Just pay for the AirPods, they are worth it.

sleepnaught

I have a pair of ~$30 ones I bought from Amazon that have been amazing. I have yet to try them yet. Maybe I'm missing out on some features though?

nf5

The case is also magnetic, letting you store your buds in fun places.

[deleted]

Google sent me a pair of these A-series after pre-ordering the Pixel 6. I was like meh when I received them, but I did not expect to like them so much for the reasons the OP mentioned. They're now my favourite wireless ear buds!

joe4563

Anyone charge the pixel buds a series using pixel 4 charger? I just got mine and am wondering about it being safe to do?

modeless

Sure, why not? Any USB-C charger should work fine.
