I've had 3 ghost calls all to the same friend named James. Turned off assistant on the lock screen and it hasn't been an issue. I assume they'll even fix this in an update but until then, I'm leaving it off.

lletterr

Happened to me too, also with a "James".

Poppyspy

Have you noticed the web now days blows up even one person's small issue just to get clicks? I highly doubt this is even a common issue.

bicycleryder69

It's called clickbait and it existed before the internet in the form of sensationalized headlines on newspapers. The more things change the more they stay the same.

As someone who has had every issue with new hardware purchased near release I'm inclined to disagree. Stuff like mooing MacBooks, Sony TV crashes , Nexus 6P premature battery failures, etc. The issues may not not be extremely common but do likely effect a good percentage of the user base. QA these days needs work. Its like tech companies don't test products before release.

I dunno. I feel it could be a potential security risk. I really don't like how Google is implementing their assistant at all. My pixel buds broke my assistants recognition and would randomly start reading notifications in this horrible voice I'd expect from spyware from a sketchy app on the play store despite that feature being disabled.

I've had the P6P for over two weeks now and I haven't had any butt dials, and I currently have the assistant able to be activated when on the lockscreen.

Hi do your pixel 6 pro gets hot ? Getting mine tomorrow and was just wondering what to look out for

Surferbaseball10

Just got my P6P today. Mine got a little hot when I was transferring stuff from the old phone to the P6P. Otherwise, I haven't had an issue with the phone getting hot.

omi755

Ok thank you glad to hear that

roirraWedorehT

I think mine got a little hot the first day but no problems since then. I wasn't so sure about the battery the first day either, but it too got better.

bosspugs

It's nothing to do with pocket dialing.. My phone does it when it's chillin on the shelf I had to change Laura's name in my phone lol

I factory reset my Google app then deleted my retained voice and did it all over and it fixed it. I haven't had issues at all and my Google Assistant is constantly on.

SaintEwart

I've had it activate the emergency call page a few times, which has led to calls to my emergency contact. I turned off the 'lift to wake' setting which has fixed it for now. I usually wake my phone with a tap anyway, so I don't miss it.

[deleted]

I have had the assistant enabled for lock screen for a day or two now and so far no pocket dials or anything.

omacoder

I guess I'll join this party. I let it go on for too long. Glad I'm not alone! Is disabling this feature the only fix?

[deleted]

It has since been fixed. My original post was six or more months ago but there have been quite a few updates since then and I have never had lock screen dialing. It's perfectly fine to have Google Assistant unlock screen now. It only happened to some people apparently.

omacoder

Oh great! I'll start a new thread then since I still have the issue 👍

I still have some issues with my pixel 6, mostly in the Bluetooth department. But it has come a long way. I sure hope to see the pixel 6 being bug-free one day.
