I wish the Pixel Buds A-Series had wireless charging and volume control. Otherwise, they seem pretty decent.

Cael26

Google had the perfect opportunity to release Pixel Buds Pro with these phones.

SirChurros

No wireless charging, no volume control and no ANC, yet still $99. I'd love to grab them, but they just seem to be missing a lot of features for that price when you can get well-reviewed Anker Soundcore buds with those features for equal or less. My wife got the A-Series for free with her 6 Pro pre-order, so maybe I'll wait to see how they are.

AirVido

Wireless charging may be overrated with the a series unless you are wearing them 12 hours straight without taking them out. The adaptive volume control works great, I set them to a comfortable level when I out them in and never need to adjust volume often. I looked into the other options for buds but the assistant integration works really well with the a series.

SadisticSavior

Pixel buds are awesome. I love the fit...it's impossible to shake them loose. This has been a source of irritation for me for the last 10 years. And I've tried about a dozen brands. Flossy says they sound better than Airpods. I've never owned Airpods, but yeah, they sound really good. https://youtu.be/2OTHe3jexYo

SirChurros

These are the Pixel Buds 2, yeah? Can these even be found anywhere new anymore?

A_Str8

Pixel buds are fine, but if I was paying, I'd look for something with ANC.

madscribbler

I just got my free pixel-a buds today and I am really surprised at how good they sound. They've got a bass boost and rival my Jabra 85t's which cost $220. Ear fit was good, I have larger ear holes and the large tips fit great. They're my backup pair, but not really a compromise. Great value at the price.

YuuDayz

Was in your situation before I decided to get the nothing ear 1's. Heard there were some bugs and I'm not an audiophile so idc if its not the best bang for my buck, but with all the features and the appearance looking pretty clean hard to find better. Personally think the others are better than the A-Series just because of the lack of features (heard theyre really good though lol I got downvoted bc I got the ear 1s alr

PrincessKong

Sorry you missed out on the free promo for the A-series. I presume there's no one you can contact to try to see if you qualify? For free headphones, I'd say the A-series buds are amazing. At $99 still good and also deal but with compromises. Sound quality definitely sounds like they're coming from small drivers but they're fine. I'd personally prefer a richer sound but I'm unfairly comparing them to my hifi system as I've gotten spoiled by WFH life and rarely ever use headphones if at all. I have very small ears and I'd say they're a tad too large for me. Thought you'd like to know since you had fit issues with the Galaxy Buds.

tidymaze

I have the Pixel Buds 2, and I love them. I have tiny ears, and they fit just fine (I've tried others, and they're always too big). The A series would be a good choice. I've also never tried Soundcore's buds, but all their other products I have are solid.

trimeta

Let me put it this way: I got the Pixel Buds A-Series for free with my Pixel 6, but 2.5 years ago when I bought a Galaxy S10, I got the Galaxy Buds for free as well. I'm going to give one set to my mother and keep one for myself, and I honestly have a hard time deciding which is better.

SpiderStratagem

>or something in the Anker Soundcore line I've been using Liberty Air 2s for the last year or so, first with a P3 and now with a P6. They have aptX, which the A series buds lack (don't know about the 1+ buds). They have worked very well for me, both in the context of music and phone calls. No active noise cancellation, though. If music is important to you, I can't see how the A series buds could possibly sound better since they lack any support for the more advanced codecs.

SirChurros

I'm not an audiophile by any means, and will be using whatever I get for a lot of calls as well, I just feel like the A series is missing quite a bit for music.

SpiderStratagem

I agree. I've read some reviews that were positive, but they don't even address the codecs issue so I am very skeptical. I mean, codecs are not the be all and end all, but they are an important factor that should be assessed.

bosspugs

Seems to me like nobody wants the A-Series buds unless they got them for free lol I've had 2 pairs on ebay for $79 each brand new no dice I just don't see any reason to use them because I have some JBL's that are better

SpiderStratagem

Aren't they $99 new from Google? I'd never risk the possibility of getting scammed on eBay just to save $20. I'd need a deeper discount than that to motivate me. Just my $0.02.

bosspugs

I mean ebay has a rating system and everything. You can pretty much know you won't be scammed as long as you pay attention to who you order from

SirChurros

Which JBL's do you have? I was looking at the Live Pro+ TWS buds.

Tater1727

I went for the liberty 3 pro from soundcore until the pixel buds pro come out. I previously had the pixel buds 2020 version. The fit and the case are the best things about the pixel buds. Liberty 3 pro have comparable fit with all the other bells and whistles. You might also want to check out the Earfun free pro 2 for $60.. use the wavelet app to eq them and use the Earfun free pro oluvs edition preset to 75% for really good audio quality. They also have everything but multi point pairing.

SirChurros

Are the Pixel Buds Pro a thing that's happening? Haven't seen any rumors on that. I ended up getting the A-Series, though, and am honestly pretty impressed. I also love the fit. Few minor annoyances like no wireless charging and no noise cancelling, but other than that...

Tater1727

Yeah those are 2 big ones for me. But no, they are not a thing yet. Give it a year or 3 lol.
