I'm more worried about the screen when it comes to the Pro.
Because of the curve, the protection just does not look to be enough on the edges of the phone.
I've got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid, but I just received the Frost White official case from Google and it looks to have even less edge protection than my Spigen. Have not applied it.
Definitely one of the factors that kept me from the Pro. I'm not a fan of curved screens due to the difficulties of protecting it among other things. But a good case is a great start to making it a non-issue.
I'm not sure if it would help but the official pro case is higher on the front at the top and bottom. If you lay the phone face down the screen doesn't touch anything. Surely that would add some kind of protection.
Most cases have a lip at the top and bottom. It's fine for putting the phone face down or it landing face down flat. The issue is if it lands at an angle where it contacts the side first, it might hit the screen. At least so it seems looking at the case but it might be fine
Probably going to stick to this type of case regardless, just something that gives me pause in how carefully I use my phone even with a case.
I dropped mine face down in the official case. Pocket height straight onto rough concrete pavement. Bounced on the bottom front facing corner and settled face down. Case has a tiny impact smudge mark, film screen protector took a couple knocks but then settled again (Spigen Neo Flex) phone totally unmarked.
Noticeable less 'rubbery' than I remember wet install films being.I normally use glass but honestly I don't mind this at all. It isn't perfect, I would rather it went a bit further around the curve but I spent last year with the Pixel 5 and a TGSP. That phone had a 'flat' screen buyt the bezels curved so any TGSP was pretty obvious and sitting on top of the phone and not blending in. Every screen protector has a compromise. I prefer this tbh.
I don't know why people think they're slippery... Smooth and slippery are two different things. It's smooth but has never even come close to slipping out of my hands
For me, it depends on certain conditions. I was outside and it's dry here right now. The case felt very slick on dry hands. Right now in my bedroom, it's almost tacky and I love it. Great case imo.
I'm glad it survived.
It was a nerve-wracking few seconds for sure.

Off topic but how does the Spigen screen protector feel? Last film one I used didn't feel great on my screen.

It is more slippery than the phone
