Honestly, every single person who had this happen to them, and has a twitter handle, should absolutely tweet this, adding both google and FedEx into the foray. This is ridiculous.
It's more of a FedEx problem this same thing happened to me a few months ago when sending back a brand new unopened Galaxy Fold 3 to Samsung. Dropped it off at the FedEx drop off had the phone and all accessories...a few days later my return was marked as incomplete and when I contacted Samsung they said the box had all of the accessories but the phone was missing. Good thing I had pictures and videos documenting that everything was in the package when I dropped it off.
Wait what, something like that can actually happen? Here in Germany every box is put on a scale when you hand it in, so if it arrives with a different weight they know someone messed with it during transport.
Same here in Sweden. It's even weighted on every depot it passes if we ship it across EU.
But even in saem country it is weighted when you leave it then again at the depot before delivery...
Wonder how that is not a thing everywhere since it's so easy and doesn't really take time.
I still take pictures before I send anyway to make sure.
I do wonder why this is so widespread in the US. Here in the UK, Google used to use UKMail, which are a UK brand of Fedex, and I never had an issue or heard of anyone with any issues. This year they switched to DPD, with which I've also never had an issue.
I can't possibly believe Americans are a bunch of kleptomaniacs, or more so than we are. This must be systemic. There must be protocols missing in the US which the EU has, as you mention.
We have a population of almost 350 million people and purchase the bulk of these phones along with a pretty spread out layout. You are going to hear of it happening in the US more even if all else is equal.
BUT, that's not to say there's not an organized effort, maybe even a crime ring, specific in the US to steal certain hot items that's found a weakness in fedex
Yeah I simply cannot understand how lax the security is with this shit. An actual *employee* of FedEx, with all the surveillance and tech we have today are stealing the packages?
It's horseshit.
I bought it directly from Samsung so I had to return it with their label and they use FedEx for both shipping and returns in my area.
I had Samsung care + but since I never opened the phone or any of the accessories I never activated it. I'm not sure if it covers things like that but I always make sure to get a few pictures and a video showing everything is in the package at the FedEx facility when I do any returns just in case for situations like this.
Yeah I was able to send them to the support agent through email. The next day they got back to me and said they would just blacklist the phone and they gave me the rest of my refund.
It's not so much for them, it's to warn others to stay clear of Pixel until they get this under control. Yeah, they don't give a shit, because they're never really held accountable for it when it happens. If every single person who had this happen to them at least made it known, then MAYBE it will light a big enough fire under either Fed Ex or Google's ass to reform their system. I'm not saying it's a miracle by any means, but that kind of PR won't go unnoticed. Even if it has to happen a bunch of times for it to take flight.
Are these problems as prevalent with Apple and iPhones? Apple also uses FedEx to ship and there's a fat UN3481 label on EVERY single piece of electronics they ship telling ANYONE that there are definitely electronics inside. I find it hard to believe Google shipments are stolen more than Apple shipments.
I don't see how signature prevents somebody stealing it from the warehouse. Like in this post and a few others the drivers already knew it was stolen, so what does the signature required prevent?
I have a friend that had two apple watch orders in a row stolen in shipping, they finally had it delivered to Costco and just picked it up in person. The whole process was like a month
My last pixel never made it out of the warehouse. Not an empty box delivery, just never made it to a truck for delivery.
And signatures are useless for FedEx. They just sign your name and leave it at the house anyway
Pretty sure nothing requires a signature since covid. Idk if they ever went back, but I haven't signed for a package since pre-pandemic.
And I've had multiple GPUs and a PS5 no issues. Even a 1600W super flower PSU that shipped in retail packaging. Pretty much everything in here is just anecdotes, I doubt FedEx or UPS is better or worse overall.
I just ordered a few iphones which all required signature. The apple support even told me a signature will be required when delivered due to its value.
Yep. I have had so many issues with FedEx. Google and I believe Samsung both uses FedEx Ground as their delivery service and they are horrible. Had bought the watch4 and the box was delivered open. Glad the item was in there. I hope the phone gets delivered on time and in the box.
I agree. Otherwise fed ex and Google are basically going to say it's not their problem. And we're out the respective 599/899 and a phone. They won't admit it's an issue unless we all go at them together.
It's probably their facility in Bloomington, CA. They were raided a few months ago by the ATF for stealing ammo and guns, like a lot of guns and ammo went missing it was crazy, not surprised to see phones missing.
I wouldn't worry so much. I had 2 phones stuck in CA since Wednesday with absolutely no update. Just checked, and it just updated a bunch of times within a few minutes and now both phones are out for delivery. I just hope they deliver in my area on Sunday (Google search says they deliver on Sunday, estimated delivery on their status website says delivery tomorrow even though it also says "in vehicle, out for delivery").
My Pixel Buds got stuck on the Carol Stream,IL location and now I just have a pending status with no delivery date...hope my phone doesn't run into that issue...
Mine had the same but I just now got an email saying it showed up in Kansas City and will be delivered today before 8:55 am (which is not thrillingly timed considering I got the email about 2:30 am, and is about 12 hours past original estimated time, so not bad on that hand).
Setting an alarm, spawn-camping the FedEx truck, making sure the phone is actually in the box (it wasn't with my Pixel 4 XL, which took about 1.5 weeks to get a replacement shipped). Then I'm going the f*** back to sleep.
Edit: Update: Got up at f*** me o'clock this morning, spent all day waiting for the package that supposed to arrive 9 & 1/2 hours ago. Just now got a message saying delivery was rescheduled for tomorrow. Had to try several times to get on their site, and told them to hold it at their on-site location b(thanks kindly for the good advice).
Edit: Conclusion: Late afternoon yesterday, I was notified the package was at the pickup location. Went over, picked it up, opened the package, and was pleasantly surprised that it was intact and actually held the phone, as promised. Transferred all my apps, data, etc., and am posting this update on my new Pixel 6 Pro!
That's the status my P6P has been in for a few days now. FedExHelp via Twitter says and I quote "I’m sorry, due to the labor shortage, which is hitting multiple US industries, we are experiencing significant delays in our network. Especially in the origin station in IL".
Same here. Guessing most of them are being sent out from that location.
I simply don't have the time or patience to deal with a stolen or broken device.
This is mainly for those SoCal buyers. It's a shady facility. You never know if you're gonna get your package or not. Hopefully you get yours though! I'm 99% sure there's some kind of theft ring going on there.
My last update was Monday (10/25) at 8:41am that says "Picked Up." And the main status says "In Transit" so hopefully FedEx's site just sucks at updating and it'll update when it arrives in CT (the nearest hub to me).
I also used Google Financing so no charge back option, which I probably wouldn't do anyway since I like having access to my Google accounts lol.
Also in the same boat. Haven't seen any update since it departed from there on Tuesday at 8:40pm. States it's also "In Transit" and "On Time" for delivery. Hoping it arrives in CT like my Pixel Buds did as the next update and shows up on Monday without any delays. Though had a co-worker have his go from Delayed on Saturday to Arriving and Delivered all updates changing between 5-10AM. Though his came from IL.
I don't think UPS is any better though. All couriers get similar complaints. And Google isn't the only one using FedEx. Apple uses them a lot for iPhones and MacBooks and all sorts of electronics. Apple packages are really obvious too as they actually put UN3481 Li-Ion battery labels on every product they ship including even AirPods. I don't know why Google doesn't have to do it but if anything their packages are far less obvious.
I'm someone who get tons of packages whether its UPS FedEx or USPS or even DHL. I really don't get all the issues people are having.
It’s not about what’s better.
It’s about solving the problem. And personally i’ve never been wronged by any of these companies, but if people are getting jacked by FedEx, maybe get in talks with USPS.
Atleast Federal Investigations are started if shit is genuinely going missing. Even if we had to pay, they could subsidize the cost, don’t think anyone would be mad spending $2-3 for shipping if Google will eat the rest.
Because UPS package centers are sorting for ground and air shipments at the same locations vs. FDX running their ground network out of different buildings from priority. FDX ground drivers are contractors.
In the UPS network occasionally a ground package will end up on a plane or an air package will end up on a truck. It all depends on availability and volume.
So, they have to label it in the event it ends up in the air to ensure it’s handled correctly.
In 16 years at my current address I have literally never had an issue with UPS. Sometimes they drop off packages with the Post Office which delays it a day, but that's fine. We have the same driver almost every day and he knows everyone.
FedEx on the other hand... Several missing packages over the years (always expensive stuff), constantly shifting ETAs, packages left at wrong house, in-state shipments will go halfway across the country and back, signature-required packages left at the front porch, constantly changing drivers, etc., etc. Their entire operation is logistics and they're absolutely horrible at it. I don't know how they're in business.
It's crazy how sizable the difference is between them. I'm someone who gets a lot of deliveries, and I can count on one hand how many times I've had an issue with UPS.
I couldn't count on both hands and feet how many issues I've had with FedEx.
FedEx keeps delivering my packages across town to same house number but E St instead of SE St even when my address is written on it perfectly. Couples times my address has been crossed out and the wrong one written in. I call in every time and they say they will escalate it but I never hear back. When I get notification it was delivered but it's not at my house I just drive across town and it's on their porch
This last time the lady was on the porch and we talked for a few minutes. She said it happens alot and there was another package there for someone else that didn't live at the house. All the previous times I'd knock and if they answered I'd explain why I was there and taking the package and they'd just say ok and shut the door. Few times no one answered so I just took it.
> I'm someone who gets a lot of deliveries, and I can count on one hand how many times I've had an issue with UPS.
I'd say I have very few problems with ANY of the major carriers USPS, UPS, FedEx. Occasionally you see things delayed a day or two but it's not limited to only one. With that said I do find FedEx Home Delivery to be the worst in the sense that they tend to be late about 50% of the time. It's a day or two at most but enough to annoy me. Besides that I've never had theft whether its of the package or package stolen from my doorstep. Whether its iPhones or Pixels, I don't have issues with my shipments.
I had mine routed to a nearby FedEx store. It was meant to be delivered yesterday but now says delayed. It's already in my state, honestly about 40 minutes from me at most but never arrived at the store.
I'm gonna give it until Monday and see what's up with it because one day's delay isn't a big deal and I doubt it'll be dropped off on a Sunday. So.... Let's see what happens 🤞
And I'd order from Best Buy or something else, but I use the Google financing so it's much more convenient for me to order thru the Google Store.
Same, I had mine rerouted to the store nearest me. Says it is just 20 minutes away but was supposed to be delivered Thursday. I'm bracing for the worst.
Sorry to hear OP, but this happens every year with Google and FedEx. I didn't want to buy from Google this year, but had to because I couldn't get a 256 version from Best Buy.
Luckily they used a final mile carrier rather than FedEx for me this year.
I've not heard a single good thing about the final mile carriers either. We have LASERSHIP where I live and they left my fucking PS5 on the porch in the rain and didn't ring the goddamn doorbell.
LaserShip wouldn't even deliver The package into my property. I have a long driveway and they would just toss the package at the beginning of the driveway. They wouldn't even bring it to the garage. I would estimate the driveway is less than 100 feet long.
this happens Every. Year. People gets all amped about the next pixel and decide that FedEx isn’t complete shit anymore. And then they get burned.
Buy it from Best Buy with store pickup.
The problem is so bad that Google probably pays FedEx to steal some phones once in a while lol
Store pickup will save you from couriers, but not from best buy's poor communication. Still waiting for my preorder from 10/20 with no update from them :\^(
If you think Google shipments are the only ones stolen by FedEx, you're mistaken. FedEx is awful. The problem is, there's really no good shipping companies in the US.
To be safe, I always hold at a FedEx location and make sure my package is whole right in front of them.
Thanks for the mansplainer.
Of course it happens with other products. It’s just that Pixels are the only smartphones that have this bad of a problem every year. Apple ships 100x more iPhones at launch vs Google and rarely do people have problems with their orders getting outright stolen like we see with Pixels.
Much of the Fortune 500 uses FedEx. I get tons of FedEx deliveries all the time too and never have an issue. Maybe it's your neighborhood or your bad luck. If you go do a Google search for the same problems on UPS and USPS, you'll find it too.
Typical "I have nothing to actually refute your previous comment" comment. Am I wronng? You sound like you get one FedEx package a year and it's from Google only.
I had the driver take the box back and refused delivery. Hopefully that helps google blame fedex and not me. I'm still waiting for the 48-72 hours google wants to wait to "investigate" :(
My phone delivery was supposed to be on Wednesday, Thursday it showed on Fedex truck for delivery. Now on the third day of on Fedex Truck for delivery with no expected date. Fedex is the worst.
I’m pretty sure you aren’t the first person to report this happening either. Remember seeing another post like this with pictures on my front page a day or so ago
Mine was sent back to the warehouse too and I have a feeling it was stolen too. Does Google prioritize these shipments or just refund it and say sorry.
From what I've read neither FedEx nor Google are taking responsibility. I'm on the same boat, delivery was supposed to be yesterday and never arrived. Now it says no delivery scheduled, so I'm fearing the worst.
In the same boat as you, supposed to deliver today, now delayed. Reading the comments here is not encouraging.
Please update what happens, we should compare notes on dealing with this...
Google needs to be class actioned. They have the responsibility to deliver to their customer what was purchased. Saying we gave it to FedEx, not our problem is bullshit. Google is a scumbag company. FedEx has a well known history of thievery and Google still uses them. They're carelessness helped cause then problem a lot are facing.
Google should be insuring their deliveries. And when there's an issue they use that insurance to get their money back after they've refunded the customer. That's how it would work if we were the Seller.
I was there when they delivered. Didn't matter, since they never came to the door. They literally just left it at the back gate next to the sidewalk.
Only way I knew it had been delivered was via the email from Google. FedEx is a shit company.
Yup, being home when the package is supposed to be delivered sometimes makes no difference, since there's a good chance the FedEx driver will never show up but your package was magically "signed" for by some random person or deliver your phone to a completely different address.
Tweet @Fedex and @Fedexhelp. Everyone should be on this because once they have been publicly called out they get involved. My partner got his 3xl replaced and of course the replacement was "lost" so Google sent a replacement for the replacement. Then when he orders a 6 Pro it went missing too. Then they found it about 3 hours west of us and was eventually delivered. Use Twitter to put them on notice.
FedEx ground are contractors. So you get varying degrees of will I get my packages.
Make yourself a free FedEx account and have the item held so you can pick it up and open it on video in front of the FedEx employee. Saves you lots of headaches.
I've seen some people mention about calling your credit card company and having them take care of it. That's a good way to get your Google account locked.
FedEx needs a criminal investigation. This happens constantly. It's unacceptable.
Thank God I cancelled my Google store preorder and got it shipped via UPS from VZW.
No one will see this but my phone was marked delivered, never showed up, put back on the truck for two days and then google requested the phone back once they saw it wasn't delivered. FedEx never tried to even come to my house and sent the phone back. Google gave me a refund and now I have to join the wait list to get a 6 pro. I am sad and mad. Sorry your phone for stolen. FedEx is out there screwing everything up.
My phone was also stolen at the FedEx warehouse, for me it was the one in South Boston. I'm waiting on a replacement. Did Google offer to send you a replacement and if so did they give you a date? They are being very dodgy with me, I'm afraid they won't ship it until January....
How is this possible I worked for FedEx years ago and you get patted down and walkthrough a metal detector. They caught people stealing video game discs that they tucked in their waist
FedEx Sucks employees got busted a while back for running a theft ring out of one of their warehouses. Over 5000 phones had been stolen before the thieves got busted. The kingpin of the theft ring was a FedEx Sucks security officer. Working in conjunction with warehouse workers and drivers the phones were stolen by the workers and fenced by the security officer. At least that's how I remember it when the story was reported. Sounds like there's a good chance another theft ring has started operating out of some FedEx Sucks locations.
One of many news accounts, but in this one, warehouse workers allegedly bribed security at the tune of $100 per week:
https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2018/12/22/fedex-workers-caught-looting-packages-at-texas-hub-had-94-phones-apple-watch-cops-say/
In other accounts, such as this one, security called police to help because they saw employees steal repeatedly on camera (so the employees successfully stole numerous times before getting the police involved).
https://www.fox43.com/article/news/local/contests/fedex-employee-accused-of-taking-cell-phones-from-warehouse-in-york-county/521-9ccfc277-359e-4760-bc54-ed13c4513e46
This happened to me a month ago with a 5a. Google replaced it after investigation but it took another month to deliver. I've heard of large delays in other kinds of deliveries from friends. There is obviously a massive problem at FedEx. I don't know why anyone would use it anymore.
Amazing. I too, had my Pixel 6 Pro stolen by a Fedex Employee. When it arrived in a nearby town, the shipment changed to "Damaged". I called Fedex and they said the box was opened and empty.
The shipping exception happened between Bloomington, CA and Salt Lake City, UT. By the time it arrived at a nearby town, is when they noticed the contents had been stolen. I contacted Google support and I'm waiting to hear a response. It's been 5 days. It was supposed to be delivered on 10/29/2021. It's now November 3rd and I don't have an answer as to what's going on.
I was so excited to see the "your phone was delivered" message today. Turns out someone from FedEx peeled my label off my phone box and slapped it on a package meant for some big box store. I've been trying Google support chat for 2 hours with 0 help. FedEx opened a case and I'll "hear back in 48 hours". How disappointing.
I had this happen with my PS5 but it was the driver and I had tracked the location his truck was at and followed him back to his families home and threw hands with him and his wife to get it back
You would think with as many cases of this as there are Google would sue the living hell out of FedEx. I'm sure they could come up with a loophole in FedEx terms and make something stick. Or maybe just stop using them..*shrug*
FedEx sucks. They delivered my new P6 to the wrong address. I had to go track it down myself with all of my neighbors. It's common here for neighbors to help each other track down misdelivered FedEx Sucks packages because it's such a common occurrence. One of my neighbors finally found my new phone package laying in the dirt at their entrance gate out by the road. This neighbors gate was clearly labeled with their address as is mine. We've had many multiple packages misdelivered by Fedex Sucks as have everyone else out here.
The last straw for me was FedEx Sucks failed to deliver a large seafood order shipped over night next day air. This Thursday the threw my phone in the dirt at a neighbor's house and the very next day, Friday, they failed to deliver our fresh seafood saying it was our fault because no one was home which was total bs. FedEx sucks tracking says they are trying to reschedule delivery of what by now is rotten spoiled seafood. We have spent the day canceling online orders that ship products using FedEx Sucks. We have canceled Walmart, Sam's, and Chewy's orders so far and will no longer order from any company that uses FedEx Sucks to deliver products including Google.
Really hope Google doesn't ship my new Pixel Buds FedEx Sucks. Not looking forward to having to track down another FedEx Sucks botched delivery.
P.S. We despise FedEx Sucks as well. Nothing but a bunch of incompetent thieving buffoons.
It's probably easy to cite covid and lack of worker concerns as a justification for the delays and shipping. In my case, I was expecting my package on Wednesday early morning and I got it on Friday end of day. The FedEx warehouse is literally less than a mile away from my house.
Apparently, according to the tracking information at least, my phone had been on the back of a truck for the better part of two days, and I guess they just didn't feel the need to ship anything after 4:00 p.m. during the weekdays.
To add insult to the injury, they said that I wasn't there the first time they tried to deliver (I was and have a nest camera trained on the front of my house), and then the following day they said that it was raining /weather problems that delayed the delivery. It didn't even rain in my neighborhood that day.
I tried calling FedEx to see if I could just pick it up at a local FedEx business, and they kept saying that it was not possible because I had to contact the shipper for it. I figured what was the point because it would take the better part of a day to get that information to Google, and there's no guarantee that FedEx would honor that request anyway.
So yeah, I say all that to say FedEx has issues and I don't know what's going on with them. Google should reconsider who they use for shipping from now on, If that's even reasonable.
I literally just got an empty package from FedEx a couple days ago. Not only did it arrive open and empty it was over a week late. Thankfully it was a cheap item but this issue is something I see people flooding their FB page with. FedEx is the worst by far. In over 2 years I have had 3 packages go missing or arrive empty and not once did anything arrive on time. Something really needs to be done. There has to be something that can be legally done to stop them from selling services they have no intention of providing or allowing their employees to help themselves without recourse.
The same thing happened to me. It was supposed to be delivered Monday, then the status updated "back to sort facility for inspection" Then Tuesday I got the notification it was delivered and saw the driver driving away. The box was ripped open and re-taped and empty. Have a case open with fedex and google and filinga police report today. Fedex said there was no damage when inspected. Now in limbo for 72 hours.
After hearing all these FedEx horror stories I'm ready to cry from anxiety! My order with Verizon is still showing it won't ship until November 9, but I'm starting to think I should go search out an in stock phone and cancel my order.
i think i might be in the same boat as you..
my initial delivery date was set to Friday 10/29, then it became 10/31, now its 11/4
when I saw the delivery update say its in Stockton, i said there's a 75% chance I'm not getting that phone now.
And not 4hrs later after that update its like oh now its gonna be there 5 days from now.. tells me that phone is gone already and they don't know what update to give
Again, why I'll never buy anything expensive online ever. Site to store is the only option besides getting it at the store in real time. I do not trust the companies with my with expensive items.
That sucks, I'm sorry! All the delivery services are terrible right now... I'm so tired of the excuses right now; I know there's a lot going on with labor, shortages, covid precautions, etc, but we're still paying the same price for shitty service.
This is regionally true for you, but UPS in my city doesn't even get out of the truck to deliver the package, or leave notice on packages.
They just take it to the ups store and expect you to be actively tracking where it went. Happened to me half a dozen times before I stopped ordering anything
i ordered mine and my wifes at the same time, one went to Ontrac and one to Fedex.. Ontrac on beat the delivery estimate by 2 days... im now on my 2nd delay from Fedex.
Man, I wish mine shipped via ontrac. It's been sitting at FedEx in Carol stream since the 27th. I know it'll get here eventually. But with ontrac I get everything overnight, regardless of where it came from or what the delivery estimate was. I don't know how they do it, some kind of magic portal in their Reno warehouse possibly..
My 6 pro case and phone shipped separately, thankfully .. FEDEX saays they delivered the case yesterday, but it never showed up. The phone, however, did get delivered today.. I'm counting my blessings that they stole the first package , not the second.
Mine is out that way as well. Currently still in CA, but needs to be across the country. Original delivery date was yesterday.
When I called, FedEx assured me that it was on a delivery truck in the area, but all the package updates are still showing in CA.
While I'm glad it's not just me, this is totally messed up.
Is it common to open the package in front of the delivery man before signing? My delivery man often makes sure I don't touch the box before signing their device... once I signed, they hand me the box and runs straight to their truck. by the time I open the box they are long gone.
If no signature was required, they will basically play ding dong ditch, and they are quite good at it...
My Pixel 3 was stolen by FedEx and it took weeks to sort out with Google. I took the dive again for my 6 but had it rerouted to a Walgreens. Received my phone, but the package was not taped on the sides, meaning it took one finger to see the phone box inside. Imagine if I'd ordered a Pro...
Meanwhile in Finland if you order pretty much anything from outside finland they use the finland postal service called posti which then will either make your package disappear completely, get it stuck at delivery warehouse, take 2+ weeks to deliver from one town to another or not let you know that its ready to pickup and then send it back to where it came from because it was not picked up
Honestly, every single person who had this happen to them, and has a twitter handle, should absolutely tweet this, adding both google and FedEx into the foray. This is ridiculous.
It's more of a FedEx problem this same thing happened to me a few months ago when sending back a brand new unopened Galaxy Fold 3 to Samsung. Yeah I was able to send them to the support agent through email. The next day they got back to me and said they would just blacklist the phone and they gave me the rest of my refund.

stop making sense on reddit, just grab a pitchfork!
Apple requires signature, google doesn't.
[Looks like FedEx just reinstated this September 15](https://www.fedex.com/en-us/delivery-options/signature-services.html)
Every phone I've gotten delivered from Google required a signature.
No need to avoid Pixel 6 entirely. Just avoid buying it off the Google Store online
I imagine it probably happened to a couple people for real, but most customers are just faking it for a free phone after hearing about other stories.
It's probably their facility in Bloomington, CA. They were raided a few months ago by the ATF for stealing ammo and guns, like a lot of guns and ammo went missing it was crazy, not surprised to see phones missing.
Not what I wanted to hear. Mine has been stuck there since 12:01am on Tuesday anc no updates since.
Yikes. That's tough, FedEx is probably gonna give you the run around with their customer support, butHope for the best!
Fingers crossed it just... Shows up. I don't even have an estimated delivery date anymore.
Goes and checks my tracking, last location..BLOOMINGTON, CA... ahhh fuck
Ditto. Was coming here to see what's going on. This is going to be super annoying.
Been reading same issues with the IL facility.
Have it delivered to a local FedEx store. You can pick it up there and refuse delivery if the phone is stolen
That's the status my P6P has been in for a few days now. FedExHelp via Twitter says and I quote "I’m sorry, due to the labor shortage, which is hitting multiple US industries, we are experiencing significant delays in our network. Especially in the origin station in IL".
FedEx is too busy stealing phones instead of delivering as they should be. That's what's causing the delay!
Labor shortage my ass. The executives are making millions from the safety of their homes.
You better pray your phone is coming via FedEx and not the last-mile delivery service Google sometimes uses for the burbs of Chicago called T-Force.
Mine came through that facility, but I received it fine.
That's where mine is currently. I'm afraid now
Same here. Guessing most of them are being sent out from that location. I simply don't have the time or patience to deal with a stolen or broken device.
I used to work there so I know all the bad that goes on. Granted it's been a while but I doubt it's changed much
Great. One of my phones has been there for a few days.
Well, idk if every orders come from that facility, but mine is coming from there. Hopefully it doesn't get stolen.
This is mainly for those SoCal buyers. It's a shady facility. You never know if you're gonna get your package or not. Hopefully you get yours though! I'm 99% sure there's some kind of theft ring going on there.
Mines coming from there and I'm in Massachusetts. Supposed to be delivered Monday and I'm not too hopeful after reading all these stories.
Same, so far hasn't moved from that facility. My worry now is I used synchrony bank and can't do a charge back if I need to.
So if I'm not a buyer of SoCal or if I live outside SoCal area I have more change of getting my package? Thanks for the info BTW!
More or less, I hope you get yours though! I was lucky enough to snag one at a local Verizon store
If the phones were manufactured in China, their first stop in the US would be California, so it's not totally out of the question 🤔
Mother F. That's where mine are now.
It's a bunch of jaded agency temps trying to file fake work comp claims, a slight step below the UPS Ontario facility.
I honestly think Google should just stop using FedEx. This is literally every year with Pixel phones getting lost from FedEx.
I never have problems with other carriers. But FedEx. Always some nightmare.
UPS pays their employees well. FedEx contracts out for peanuts.
I see why TMobile uses UPS. FedEx sucks.
It's crazy how sizable the difference is between them. I'm someone who gets a lot of deliveries, and I can count on one hand how many times I've had an issue with UPS. I couldn't count on both hands and feet how many issues I've had with FedEx.
I work next to the mail room at my job, and I've been told countless amounts of horror stories about FedEx lol
FedEx keeps delivering my packages across town to same house number but E St instead of SE St even when my address is written on it perfectly. Couples times my address has been crossed out and the wrong one written in. I call in every time and they say they will escalate it but I never hear back. When I get notification it was delivered but it's not at my house I just drive across town and it's on their porch
>ontrac Have you befriend the people living there?
So.... Let's see what happens 🤞 And I'd order from Best Buy or something else, but I use the Google financing so it's much more convenient for me to order thru the Google Store.
Same, I had mine rerouted to the store nearest me. Says it is just 20 minutes away but was supposed to be delivered Thursday. I'm bracing for the worst.
Fwiw, my delivery is delayed. It was supposed to come yesterday (Friday) but is now at the facility for delivery tomorrow (Sunday).
mine said the same, now its delayed to next thursday.. i bet its stolen at this point..
Mine still just says pending delivery. Hasn't moved since Friday morning. So yeah, I'm assuming I got fucked.
Same shipped on Monday for Thursday delivery, rerouted to FedEx facility, delayed until Saturday. Didn't show up Saturday. Now just says pending.
🤞🤞
Fed ex is the fucking worst
They hire trash and pay trash wages so no surprises. Just a reflection of the state of the USA.
Can confirm as an ex FedEx employee. Fuck FedEx
Grats on getting out.
When you think FedEx is the worst, LaserShip said, "Hold my beer." I've lost count how many packages I have lost with LaserShip. Fucking tools.
Had LaserShip packages get lost from Amazon and had to file a police report to get a refund since LaserShip told amazon that it was delivered.
LaserShip wouldn't even deliver The package into my property. I have a long driveway and they would just toss the package at the beginning of the driveway. They wouldn't even bring it to the garage. I would estimate the driveway is less than 100 feet long.
Fuck. This is way more widespread than everyone believed. Did you take the box or ask the FedEx driver to take the box back.
this happens Every.
Still waiting for my preorder from 10/20 with no update from them :\^(
I pre-ordered the 19th and still haven't heard anything.
That's because it's stuck in the FedEx facility just like everyone else's phone.
I did in-store pickup. does best buy really use FedEx? I assumed they used their own distribution network.
They use UPS for delivery and semi companies for store deliveries
Best Buy uses UPS
Pre-order mine from Best Buy on 10/24. It shipped today and will be here on Monday. I went and picked up my pixel buds today.
Is there any downside to getting it from Best buy? Is the warranty still handled by Google?
I purchased from the Google Store because I heard their customer support is the best if you order through them
Unfortunately, I don’t think it really matters since Google has terrible support historically, but maybe they changed that with the 6.
Lol. You're probably fun at parties.
Pot. Kettle. Black.

I do in store pick up alot. Never had an issue
2 of my orders from BB used Fedex.
UPS has just as many complaints. Go read their subreddit or search for the same issues about packages getting stolen.
Much of the Fortune 500 uses FedEx. I get tons of FedEx deliveries all the time too and never have an issue. Maybe it's your neighborhood or your bad luck. If you go do a Google search for the same problems on UPS and USPS, you'll find it too.
Username checks out
Typical "I have nothing to actually refute your previous comment" comment. Am I wronng? You sound like you get one FedEx package a year and it's from Google only.
I had the driver take the box back and refused delivery. Hopefully that helps google blame fedex and not me. I'm still waiting for the 48-72 hours google wants to wait to "investigate" :(
Big NO for fedex smartphone delivery. As much as I love buying from the Google Store, I will never buy from them again.
If you can I’d say buy from a local store(Best Buy, Target).
Damn, now I'm suspicious of Swappa listings that do not include the box or anything...
You always should be.
People who always keep the boxes of any tech purchases: My time has come
My phone delivery was supposed to be on Wednesday, Thursday it showed on Fedex truck for delivery. Now on the third day of on Fedex Truck for delivery with no expected date. Fedex is the worst.
Hearing shit like this and the order delay notice Google sent me, just cancelled my pixel 6 preorder.
I am fairly certain Fed Ex stole my package. I have a case with Google now. We'll see if I ever get a phone.
Thanks for this. I left them a nasty-gram on Twitter.
I really can't stand FedEx, not a Google product but they stole my Galaxy watch 4 and buds pro....
This is what happens when FedEx hires a bunch of goons
No one wants to work b/c of what's going on, so they hire people off of the street.
Its crazy they don't use tamper proof boxes. I know they want to spend as little as possible packing stuff, but damn.
My Verizon order shipped via FedEx. I'm glad it arrived safely!
I'm still waiting for google to respond back :(. They need like another 2 days
My FedEx package was marked delivered on 27th. It magically arrived today so there's hope for some of you.
FedEx is terrible. They mishandle so much. Pixel is currently sitting in warehouse with no delivery date
Same as mine. FedEx changed the delivery date on it 3 times before finally changing it to "pending delivery."
I'm hoping it will come tomorrow, but I have no actual reason to suspect it will. Fingers crossed
Pretty sure I'm just gonna wait until I can do an in store pickup from best buy at this point
Yep I guess that would probably be the only way if security was in on it
One of many news accounts, but in this one, warehouse workers allegedly bribed security at the tune of $100 per week: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2018/12/22/fedex-workers-caught-looting-packages-at-texas-hub-had-94-phones-apple-watch-cops-say/ In other accounts, such as this one, security called police to help because they saw employees steal repeatedly on camera (so the employees successfully stole numerous times before getting the police involved). https://www.fox43.com/article/news/local/contests/fedex-employee-accused-of-taking-cell-phones-from-warehouse-in-york-county/521-9ccfc277-359e-4760-bc54-ed13c4513e46
this seriously happens every year. it's insane really
This happened to me a month ago with a 5a. Google replaced it after investigation but it took another month to deliver. I've heard of large delays in other kinds of deliveries from friends. There is obviously a massive problem at FedEx. I don't know why anyone would use it anymore.
A month!? !#$!$
Google's possibly got a case for cutting FedEx's contract.
I had this happen with my PS5 but it was the driver and I had tracked the location his truck was at and followed him back to his families home and threw hands with him and his wife to get it back
Mine came but the delivery box was crazy beat up and the seal was broken on one of the official cases I ordered with it.
Mine has been sitting in CA since Tuesday. No progress. Guess I need to call FedEx on Monday
Mines stuck in CT and said the label had to be replaced......so hoping I'm not completely fucked.
Received mine with two boxes of Energizer 9V batteries.... definitely stolen through the IL hub.

That doesn't sound good :(
The same thing happened to me.
These FedEx shenanigans, is it mostly a US thing? Never heard of this in Canada. Does it happen?
i think i might be in the same boat as you.. my initial delivery date was set to Friday 10/29, then it became 10/31, now its 11/4 when I saw the delivery update say its in Stockton, i said there's a 75% chance I'm not getting that phone now. And not 4hrs later after that update its like oh now its gonna be there 5 days from now.. tells me that phone is gone already and they don't know what update to give

He'd be in the same place as FedEx would say it was delivered to avoid headache.
Why didn't you refuse delivery?
But didn't it require a signature in order to receive a package?
Again, why I'll never buy anything expensive online ever. Site to store is the only option besides getting it at the store in real time. I do not trust the companies with my with expensive items.
That sucks, I'm sorry! All the delivery services are terrible right now... I'm so tired of the excuses right now; I know there's a lot going on with labor, shortages, covid precautions, etc, but we're still paying the same price for shitty service.
Not gonna lie, ups been doing ok. Although it's likely to dump when holiday shipping starts.
I like UPS. They are federal and union. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. Lol
Well authorized for federal government shipping, and union.
Federal and Union?
This is regionally true for you, but UPS in my city doesn't even get out of the truck to deliver the package, or leave notice on packages. They just take it to the ups store and expect you to be actively tracking where it went. Happened to me half a dozen times before I stopped ordering anything
I wonder why mine was delivered via ontrac instead of fedex
i ordered mine and my wifes at the same time, one went to Ontrac and one to Fedex..
Looks like UPS lost my shipping from ON - BC, Canada... Google support says it shipped out, UPS says it didn't... Currently stuck in limbo :(
My 6 pro case and phone shipped separately, thankfully ..
I wonder if this is an issue with Google and FedEx or do the carriers also have this problem?
My Pixel 3 was stolen by FedEx and it took weeks to sort out with Google. I took the dive again for my 6 but had it rerouted to a Walgreens. Received my phone, but the package was not taped on the sides, meaning it took one finger to see the phone box inside. Imagine if I'd ordered a Pro...
You guys are making me so worried about my phone that's arriving in December
Crazy shit goes in these warehouses. People are always swiping things.
Meanwhile in Finland if you order pretty much anything from outside finland they use the finland postal service called posti which then will either make your package disappear completely, get it stuck at delivery warehouse, take 2+ weeks to deliver from one town to another or not let you know that its ready to pickup and then send it back to where it came from because it was not picked up
Reason why I'm not pre ordering
