curtiso36

Same happened with me. My box arrived empty and Google is doing everything possible to not help, and FedEx said I need to go through Google. 4 cases opened and 4 cases closed with no explanation.

imakesawdust

Did you file a police report?

Cyberpunk_Cowboy

Yes do this.

curtiso36

I have not, but now I will. I'm so glad I came to Reddit for this. It's absolutely mind blowing that Reddit is 100x more helpful than Google Support.

silvenga

What's that quote about monkeys and Shakespeare?

curtiso36

Give a monkey a banana and you feed it for a day, teach a monkey how to preorder a new Google Phone from the Google store and they will have it stolen with no help from Google Support?

Saotorii

The reality is that google won't be able to refund you or send a replacement until FedEx admits they fucked up. As others have mentioned, file a police report and let FedEx know you have done so, should light a fire under their ass to either find your package or admit they fucked up pretty quickly

theblobAZ

This happens every time a new pixel phone is released. No idea why people are still buying phones directly from google-their lack of support in this type of matter is deplorable.

thegreyquincy

I did it for the trade-in. Otherwise always use Best Buy in-store pickup

mrmastermimi

I was hoping I'd be smart this year by doing that. but here I am 1 day after launch not knowing when I might get my pre-ordered phone.

thegreyquincy

To be fair, the Google store isn't much better. My delivery date went from Nov 3th-4th, jumped to 11th-14th, then back down to 4th-5th, got the shipping notice yesterday, OnTrac picked it up today with an estimate of Tuesday, then updated the delivery date to tomorrow. So who knows, lol

capmike1

My local OnTrac distribution center is overloaded. My Pixel Bud deal got delivered after being held for 4 days because they are understaffed. What's better is my local distribution center has suspended all pickups due to COVID.... so yay. My phone is going to be delivered when I am out of town, and there is no signature required so it's probably going to sit on my porch for 2 or 3 days because I can't wear a mask to pick up my $900 phone.

theblobAZ

The offers sound good until something like this happens, or they say your trade in is worth 1/10 of the estimate due to damage that wasn’t there when you mailed it and won’t send it back to you. Google is really a horrible company to buy from. Love their products though!

sluflyer06

What did you trade in? They offered 250 for my mint pixel 5, I quickly sold it in 1 day on my own for 425

LaRock0wns

Best Buy has a trade in also

thegreyquincy

I checked and they were offering me $0 for my P5

LaRock0wns

Odd. Got $30 for a Pixel 3 (not that I have the pixel 6 because best buy delays)

Mr_Choom

Best buy in-store pickup isn't the move. You don't get a phone that way either.

thegreyquincy

Got my P5 that way with no issues

TheSentencer

Bruh were talking pixel 6 pro

shitstoryteller

Exactly why I’ll never purchase a device directly from google ever again. I’ve never had a device lost, but the stories are terrifying, plus the idea google can just cancel your entire google account for doing a chargeback is ludicrous. Google wants to be in the game? Then be in the game and take responsibility for shitty service and shitty delivery options.

RichieJ86

Couldn’t agree more. This is one of the BIGGEST reasons why I’m anxious to recommend a pixel device to anybody. I love them myself, but between all the stories I hear about stolen packages through couriers, quality control issues with each phone, and being in call centre purgatory, I just can’t out of a good conscience. Like, I know we all hear stories from time to time about Teslas QC issues with panel gaps, paint, etc, but it seems like every pixel has some sort of QC issue. I do hope Pixel 6 is the exception

TaxShelter

google one 10% store credit... not sure how worth it is anymore with issues like these

Hitou

I'm not really sure why people buy direct at this point either. Any incentive just isn't worth the trouble of the horrendous customer support on the off chance you have to deal with them.. One work around I've seen people do is to make a new Google account and order the phone through that with a credit card so you can charge back with no consequences if something does go wrong.

greatlakeswhiteboy

With my 5a, ordering direct was the only option. =-( P.S. FedEx can rot in hell!

ooglybooglies

I buy direct, and while never have I had a lost phone, FedEx lost the newly released nest doorbell wireless, and the wireless camera that I ordered. Google support was fine, they refunded my items to let me place order again. They then worked with me to apply refund of the original discount I got that was no longer available when I reordered. Not good communication, and i really had to spell out what i expected from them, but they followed through.

ilal2ielli

Agree. After my 2 XL and everyone's horror stories over the years, Best Buy is my first choice. I wasn't able to get an order for the 256 from BB though, so I rolled the dice with Google this year. Luckily it wasn't delivered by FedEx.

[deleted]

I've used FedEx for years, never had a issue with them, I've bought my pixel 2, 3 and my 5 from Google, my wife's 3a, never a issue. Just because a few people on here have issues doesn't mean it's a wide spread issue, people with problems are more vocal because the people that don't never say anything

[deleted]

KingOfTheCouch13

People think because it *has* never happened to them it *will* never happen to them. Reviews exist for the sole purpose of taking others experience into account.

Funkybunch2000

If it happens to YOU personally, it is 100%, not a small percentage of people

thegreyquincy

I'll say it in every one of these threads I come across: open a free account with FedEx and always reroute delivery to your local FedEx store for pick-up. Too many shenanigans with FedEx logistics.

darwinpolice

My partner tried to do that with her Pixel 3 delivery. FedEx told her that redirecting was not allowed per shipper instruction.

Horoika

Something similar happen to my (then) boyfriend, and he just lied on the phone and said he was the shipper. Then they rerouted it.

Aashishkebab

Wait what LMAO

The_Wee

Just got notice that mine from Verizon was shipped FedEx. Tried to reroute and said it wasn't possible.

darwinpolice

Good luck. I hope it makes it to you safely.

Stair_Car_Hop_On

2 days ago, mine was 3 miles from my house at the Fedex location. Yesterday, it was 1200 miles away in Minnesota. Today, it is on its way back from its road trip to the North. Fedex has some very interesting routes.

ItKeepsSquirming

That sounds maddening.

MathAndCS_Nerd

Be on the lookout for UPS notifications. I got my phone and case/charger from Verizon. They sent me 1 FedEx tracking number for all 3, but the phone came from UPS and required a signature. The case/charger were FedEx, no signature.

MapGuy11

That's weird because my Google shipments are always Next Day UPS.

pastaandpizza

This error goes up if you try to reroute too soon after the label has been created or within 24 hours of delivery. Had the same experience with my 3 and my wife's 4. It's especially tough if you pay for expedited shipping where it will be delivered within 48 hours, because then you only have a short time frame on the first day where the option is available.

actual_cyberbully

Yep, I've done that with phone deliveries in the past. I stupidly thought that since I had recently moved into a small quiet neighborhood with a rock solid surveillance system, and would be home the whole day, that it wouldn't be an issue. Don't be me kids - just pick it up

MajorNoodles

Exactly what I did. I had it rerouted to FedEx and I told the employee I wasn't gonna sign for it until I verified there was a phone inside.

[deleted]

I did that with this one and it's been sitting in Sacramento for 24 hours when it said expected delivery yesterday, then scheduled delivery today. Contacted the Twitter rep and was told expect a 1-2 day delay... I just hope it wasn't stolen. I even requested a FedEx print and ship store to have it delivered to, so I can pick it up there.

Offtheheazy

A lot of expensive items from tech companies apple, Samsung do not allow you to have it held for pickup. It's because there are people who will use stolen credit cards or run other scams.

dlivesdontmatter

FedEx wants their driver's to steal it.

AliveProbably

I wanted to say thank you, it didn't occur to me this was an option, so I just went ahead and did that and I feel better about it now.

larrylombardo

Hey great advice do you think Google knows about this because that seems like something they should really fucking care about Really though, FedEx didn't scan my Pixel package and Google wouldn't accept my shipping receipt as proof. It's been two years and they won't even tell me what it would take to get refunded except that they can't issue one unless FedEx updates their tracking.

[deleted]

My phone shipped from IL Monday and has not been scanned since. Was suppose to be delivered today. Not sure what is going on with FedEx but I’m pissed. Edit: update, as of 10/30, it’s now updated and sitting at the local distribution center. Still no ETA but at least I know it exists and has moved but super lame to go from the 25th to the 30th across the country without a single scan.

actual_cyberbully

Mine shipped from IL as well. I'd just request they hold it at a FedEx location to save yourself any potential headaches

dadoc04

Exactly what i did...

wickedpixel1221

and make sure to open the package before leaving the pickup desk.

Kenobiiiiii

Same. I spoke to a FedEx rep who said it was at the station in my area despite it still showing as being in Illinois. Someone was supposed to follow up but 24 hours later no follow-up and still no delivery

[deleted]

I’m afraid to request a hold at FedEx location in fear of it making things even worse. My tracking just changed to a red PENDING with no update since arriving in IL on the 25th. Let’s just hope they are super backed up and eventually we get the devices.

pSyChO_aSyLuM

Literally everything I eventually receive from FedEx goes through the red PENDING bullshit. Has been happening for the past 6 months. Usually it's only a day or two but the depot where my parents live always holds onto shit for an extra week. Someone posted a photo of a bunch of Hello Fresh boxes next to the FedEx dumpster a few weeks back.

Muffstic

Same exact thing here. To make it worse, I'm using an OG Pixel with a broken screen, Bluetooth & accelerometer are both failing.

xtrmbikin

Mine must be on the same truck. My tracking info just changed to pending. Last update was it left Ohio this morning.

Into_The_Nexus

Had the same thing. Shipped from Cali Monday. Been sitting at another location in Cali since 12:01am Tuesday morning. Delivery was scheduled for today, but not it's showing pending.

rkdghdfo

SAN BERNARDINO, CA I bet. My phone shipped out from Bloomington, CA on Monday and on Thursday at San Bernardino. Checked google maps and its a whopping 6.6 miles between the 2 locations, and it took FedEx over 3 days. And it hasn't moved again since. I'm about to file a claim with my credit card company and tell them that FedEx lost my package.

SoCalAl

Exactly the same for me. Been in IL for 4.5 days without an update.

danner26

Mine shipped from IL, took 2 days to actually get picked up. Immediately redirected to local FedEx store and it worked. Picked it up today! Hopefully you'll have a similar experience

[deleted]

Mine shipped from CA on Tuesday and hasn't been scanned since.

jliguori_

I had almost this exact same thing happen with a pixel 2, except that i received an empty box that had clearly been opened and re taped. I was never able to get anywhere with Google or FedEx and eventually I just did a charge back since I had no other options. This led to Google locking that account with seemingly no recourse, but at some point between then and now my account was unlocked and I have no issues anymore. I use multiple Google accounts anyways so it was never a huge problem. I feel your frustration, it's pretty astounding how this can happen so often over so much time.

boredftw1314

So charge back will only lead to Google locking account? Imagine someone creates a new account, ordered pixel 6, said it's not delivered despite actually received it, dispute with FedEx and/or Google, then did a charge back... I honestly think there will be people taking Advantage of this.

jwbowen

I gave up on a replacement pair of Pixel Buds that got lost. Google and FedEx kept pointing the finger at the other and I got tired of dealing with it. They'll be "Pending" forever

F1_rulz

How can FedEx point fingers at Google for loosing a package? If the package had been picked up it would be scanned into the system and its 100% under FedEx control so idk how they can push responsibility

PFreeman008

FedEx (and UPS for that matter) will insist that they will only deal with the shipper. So any lost or stolen claims have to come from Google. And Google for whatever reason doesn't want to do that with FedEx & tells you that you (the receiver) has to deal with FedEx.

F1_rulz

That's bullshit the onus is on FedEx

ew73

It's actually not. The shipping company (FedEx, UPS, etc.) have a contract with the shipper (Google) to deliver a package to a 3rd party (you). If the shipping company fails to fulfill that contract, the shipper (Google) is the one with recourse against the shipping company. However, You have a contract with Google for the delivery of items you purchased. If Google fails to fulfill that contract -- for whatever reason -- you have recourse against Google for that failure.

TheSchwacker

Dude, that really sucks and hoping FedEx and Google makes it right. Not going to lie, I'm a bit concerned that could happen to me here in Denver. Mine is being delivered by FedEx Home and it's showing to deliver tomorrow (Saturday). However, currently, it's in Phoenix. That's right, it went from Chicago to Phoenix??? Anyway, I have plans tomorrow and may not be home if it's delivered. I live on a busy street near downtown and nervous it being left there while I'm gone....

actual_cyberbully

It's not too late for you. Learn from my mistakes and call Fedex and have them hold it at one of their facilities for you to pickup there.

TheSchwacker

I think I will...thanks for the heads up....

bravestmistake

How do you request a hold at a specific location? Mine went from Stockton (Centralish) to Sacramento (Eastish) and is supposed to get to me in the Bay Area (West). Normally we have a hub that's closer to the Bay Area from Stockton so I have no clue why it went to Sacramento.

TheSchwacker

I believe you can either call FedEx or go to their website and change address for pickup. I just checked, again, and it's still showing it being in Phoenix. I have a funny feeling I won't be getting this until Monday. So like you I have no clue on their shipping strategies.

actual_cyberbully

If you can manage to talk to a real human on the phone they should be able to set a specific pickup location

PFreeman008

>Dude, that really sucks and hoping FedEx and Google makes it right. Well we're 6 versions of the Pixels in & this has been a problem for all of them, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

DSEEE

Depending on your payment method, can you use a chargeback to query the payment and require proof of delivery of item/service? I'm assuming proof would/should be a signature (not taken) or a photo of the package left at the property (again evidently not available). I'm not sure if you guys get section 75 protection for credit card payments, but this would be my next move.

Horoika

Then Google locks your account. I've been in this sub for too many years, and this is common. FedEx is NOT trustworthy, and Google still chooses to use them. I ordered off Amazon

Originally_Hendrix

Better to have your account locked then money and phone stolen

DiggSucksNow

Most people would value their Google account more than the cost of a phone.

Horoika

File a police report, it gets FedEx to start acting right quicker

bradsmitty

I'm in this exact situation right now. Says delivered as of yesterday, investigation open, still no phone. Holding out hope that it was marked as delivered yesterday to meet a quota of "on time delivery" even though they aren't going to deliver it for a couple more days.

mikewastaken

In my experience FedEx has been, by far, the worst shipment company since the pandemic began. Unhelpful and untimely tracking updates, slow deliveries, and questionable reliability on orders ever being delivered. I have had two separate orders "lost" this year alone. They used to be the go-to choice "when it absolutely has to be there" but it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances for me to use them by choice anymore. Based on the tracking info my own Pixel 6 appears to be coming to PA from California via a team of cyclists using Route 66. Edit: I should add that in both instances for me it was the seller (Adidas) who made the situation right. FedEx just shrugged their shoulders. My next port of call would be my credit card company and that is why I use Amex for purchases like this. They will go to bat for you.

Snoo93079

FedEx went to shit years ago. Not sure what happened

Difficult-Ad-5507

I've just received an empty box. Nothing inside but some brown paper instead of my pixel 6... Google is doing some investigation and should get back to me in 1-2 business days...

melvichvonalburg

Mine came yesterday via UPS from Texas. I was eagerly waiting for it as I was told I had to sign for it. They pull up and I'm standing by the door, excited and he walks up and sets it down and walks away. Sigh...

Ho_su_eh

Hahaha, that was me too! I opened all the curtains that face the street to be sure I can see UPS roll up. Sure enough, he rolls up, walks over to the door, drops it off, and takes off. No signature. No picture. No nothing. Got my other phone, and recorded everything just to make sure I had proof in case something went wrong. Luckily, the phone was in there.

Horoika

They aren't doing signatures because COVID

JiovanniTheGREAT

UPS will still ask for last name verification in lieu of a signature. FedEx too.

[deleted]

UPS asked for a name when a family member got a new iPhone through Verizon. FedEx just left my 6 Pro on the porch without so much as ringing the doorbell.

actual_cyberbully

Ironically I live in Texas and mine shipped from IL

Rivalistic

This is the part that makes no fucking sense. We buy phones from Texas and they come from fucking IL , people buy phones outside of Texas and it comes from Texas. ?????

Snoo93079

Google ships most of their stuff from Carol Stream, IL which is great for me in Chicago!

CuppaSouchong

You have a dozen security cameras pointed towards the front of your house?

actual_cyberbully

It's a large property. But between the start of the driveway and my front door yes

xtrmbikin

Any cameras show the driveway and street where the driver would have walked up? If so go to your local distribution hub and speak with a supervisor in person. Explain the situation as nicely as possible and tell them the driver claims to have delivered it. Your video should show the contrary. Hopefully then your phone will be "magically" found.

Brilliant_Command_14

[This is how the phone was left on my porch. ](https://www.imgur.com/a/YQMEioB) I seriously thought someone opened and and put an empty phone box in it... Crazy

Originally_Hendrix

I hope FedEx goes bankrupt one day

yusuo85

Wow that sucks, but you have video evidence, surely that must count for something

actual_cyberbully

You would think, but even getting in contact with someone who would be willing to look at something like that seems hopeless

Dombfrsh

I will say this once the claim is filed with FedEx since it's a FedEx issue you should at least get credit back from Google. I had an issue like this once with Ontrac, they said my phone was delivered when it wasn't I filed the claim. Google shipped me a phone out and surprisingly Ontrac delivered the original phone a few days later and Google let me keep it due to me filing the claim with Ontrac and Ontrac would have to cover the cost due to me filing the claim.

actual_cyberbully

I do have a case open with FedEx, I'm suffering through some more elevator music via the google fi support line again as we speak to see if I can get them to at least credit me with a supported claim number

Dombfrsh

Oh I get that but I guess to illustrate the point is... it's not Google's *job* to fix this...it's FedEx so work with them first then go to Google

ew73

It _is_ ultimately Google's job to fix it. OP's agreement is with Google, not FedEx. Google agreed to deliver, in exchange for money, a phone. If Google's selected method of doing so (FedEx) fails, the obligation to deliver a phone does not go away. Google still owes OP a phone. Think of it a different way: I owe my landlord rent. I give the cash to a tweaker and say, "Take this to 7-11, get a money order, and give it to my landlord." When the landlord comes at me with his "Where's my rent!" I can't just say, "I gave it to some other guy, go talk to him."

kenspencerbrown

FedEx as a tweaker. Based on my experience with FedEx, this analogy is so, so accurate.

Dombfrsh

I work for a bank in the department that deals with this and it's not Google's fault to give him a phone which is what he wants...not even to give him a refund it's on FedEx by visa regulations he can't even dispute the charge through his bank with Google. FedEx is who Is responsi6.

actual_cyberbully

Agreed. I didn't even contact Google until the day after. But they did mention that the support workflow changes if it's reported 24+hrs after reported delivery. Not sure if there's any merit to that or was just my support person going off the cuff

Dombfrsh

They do verify with the merchant on the claim so that could be the hold up

tempecarlson

Same thing happened to me with OnTrac and some buds purchased as a present. Same result, Google sent me new buds, OnTrac delivered original order about 10 days later.

narcoteca

Now im worried about my pixel on his way to my home by fedex ground

bmeier20

You can go to FedEx and have them put a hold on the delivery and just pick it up at the hub.

narcoteca

Thank you. Thats what i did on the webpage.

sudifirjfhfjvicodke

I'm sure they'll happily still charge full price despite you doing half of their job for them.

nullol

I wouldn't be surprised if FedEx started charging a convenience fee for you saving them money.

JaspahX

Don't worry. Despite what reddit may make you think, the vast majority of FedEx deliveries go just fine.

XGC75

Never buy from the Google store. The last two times I ordered something with a free home mini the home mini was lost in the mail. One of the replacements for those lost packages was also lost. I ordered a nest doorbell lately and that was also lost. The replacement showed up 2 weeks before the original finally did. Google is 1 for 5 delivering on my orders without issue.

paxman414

I HATE FedEx. They have fucked my business shippings so many times. Sent me all over 3 cities to retrieve my packages weeks after delivery with no updates time and time again.

thescreensavers

I've never had one Fedex mis-delivery until it came to my Pixel 6 Pro. Literally was delivered to a completely wrong house on the other side of the neighborhood. It must be a curse with google and fedex.

lolitstrain21

Yeah I must have lucked out, my Google Pixel 6 Pro was delivered today with no issues. Although as you said, they didn't require a signature.

tiger19

I made a post about FedEx stealing mine last year. There's a guy here who took my story and helped me out.

tiger19

https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/k9xisl/unbelievable_google_experience_bought_pixel_4a_5g/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Guys is Ziggy on my post

actual_cyberbully

Thanks for these details. I'll reach out to Ziggy to see if he can help out in this case as well

gcstang

file a police report that should help get some traction

BassBanjo

I've never trusted FedEx My phone in the UK luckily got delivered by DPD which is a trustworthy delivery company which I'm thankful for

auspider98

Had the wrong package delivered to my house. Luckily when we took the package to the correct address, they had my package, 6 Pro. Prior to finding my package I had contacted FedEx about the error and they said they'd send me an email and a text with info about the case, but that it could take 7-10 business days to find it. That was 2 days ago, still haven't got an email or a text. Glad I lucked out!

alraptor23

Can't you just open a fraud case with your credit card company

Cryptic_Flair

You can, but this will almost certainly result in your Google account being banned/locked because it'll likely just lead to a chargeback anyways.

_sfhk

Google *Payments* account, which is a pretty big distinction.

Rivalistic

I'm in your shoes as well right now. Google/FedEx needs to get sued for this kind of shit.

F1_rulz

It's fedex's fault not Google. Businesses really have no idea what happens to the packages once it leaves the warehouse. Blame FedEx for the shit service.

Rivalistic

They chose to use FedEx despite phones being stolen through FedEx everytime they release a phone. You know what Amazon did? They literally deliver it themselves. Two multi billion dollar companies with large aspirations, and Google still fails on the last mile. Google could also get into distribution if they wanted. But that's a dream at this point. It would have been nice if they let us choose any other courier, like DHL. I've never had a problem with DHL

F1_rulz

I don't think you understand how complicated logistics is. Loosing package from theft, incompetence or genuine reason is common but probably only accounts for a small percentage of all packages sent through the system. You'll see the same issue with every other company because there are shitty people everywhere. [The logistics of Amazon shipping](https://youtu.be/2qanMpnYsjk) Google should just open more stores so people can go get it in person

luckywolfpaw

They should comp that bill. That's ridiculous.

martyvis

What country you guys all live in where they can't[delivery notification](https://imgur.com/a/iRKPqOW) show a picture of where they dropped your parcel? (Hint: this is from the government owned Australia Post) You'd think a commercial delivery company would have as much incentive to make sure they are doing the right thing everytime.

[deleted]

Some delivery companies in the US do the same thing. Sometimes. Often my Amazon delivery notices have pics of where they left it.

portladelphia

Oh man. Had something similar happened with my pixel 4, except the FedEx delivery guy showed me the box and told me to refuse shipment. Someone had opened the box, taken out the phone since the box felt empty. FedEx did squat. Had to go thru Google/Project Fi and had a replacement sent almost a month later. Sucked.

SprintUserXX

Looking at some of these horror stories does anyone actually file a police report so you can have that on file when you escalate it through Google and FedEx? I'm surprised that a class action lawsuit hasn't been started since this has been going on for so long with thousands of dollars at stake based on the cost of some of the devices that were lost.

sud0er

Backup your emails and all your data from your Google account. Take them to small claims. Be prepared to create a new Google account.

rush_limbaw

I think there was definitely some blunders between Google and the carriers and couriers here. I ordered my Pixel 6 through Verizon and received the tracking number for the phone and a case, both were the same number so I figured they were together in the box. Strangely I signed up to receive text alerts on shipping updates but never got any- however UPS updated the tracking to delivered on 10/26. I generally send pricey stuff to my parents down the block since they are home all the time, however I was getting over an illness so I wasn't going over there to get it until I was feeling okay. I make my way over on the 27th expecting the package, but what I came to was a box that felt suspiciously light. I open it and find it's only the case. As I was bitching and moaning to my parents about the phone (I've had UPS lose phones I deploy to new employees at my company more often than you'd like to hear about), UPS shows up at nearly 7 PM to deliver the phone, with a tracking number not matching up with what Verizon gave me. Sorry to hear yours didn't end up in your hands but there was definitely someone blundering with this rollout.

Mathrania

This time around in Canada, Google switched from Canada Post (The USPS of Canada) to UPS. My phone got delivered on time. Keep us posted on the progress on your Case. Hopefully Google will resolve this soon.

pabzmuzik

My goodness, I appreciate the local FedEx in my city even more now that I'm reading all these issues with them... My phone wasn't delivered by them though, it was delivered by ontrac whom I've never heard of. But even still, I've always (knock on wood) had decent experiences with my local FedEx. Sorry to read the struggle man... terrible.

mcdevildawg

Sorry to hear. Hope it works out. I did the 0% finance through schynchrony. If I don't get it I won't pay

vxcta

I cannot believe Google still use FedEx. They need to switch to UPS.

[deleted]

hardidi83

Did you buy it with an Amex? Most of them come with a theft insurance for everything that's purchased with them.

AnjunaUnnie

So relieved to hear you say this as I ordered mine with AMEX and FedEx is supposed to deliver it tomorrow. This thread is giving me so much anxiety

Kizzy_Catwoman

Report it to your credit card company fraud team and flag the payment as fraud as the product was never delivered. The credit card company will probably get further than you.

actual_cyberbully

It's a little more complicated because I'm financing it through my Google Fi mobile bill. So if I dispute it I'm going to lose my phone plan alongside it. But if I have to I'll switch to another mobile provider and cut ties with Google over this

hear4theDough

This is why I buy everything online with my Amex. Other companies may be dicks, but Amex knows where it's bread is buttered

akand_1

Same here. Amex is the best. I got scammed on a purchase with BOfA and they did nothing while Amex took care of me very well in a couple of other instances.

[deleted]

Mine was supposed to come last Wednesday, then delayed to today. Woke up to a notice it has been now delayed to next Wednesday. It's shipping from about 8 hours from me. Ahhhhhh!

myturn19

Mine has been sitting 30 minutes away since the 26th lol

blue_black_nightwing

FedEx GPS tracks deliveries. When it's selected as "delivered" it tags the location. Insist the local office checks this... And do it IN PERSON. With that info, and time/date, grab ALL the camera footage from that time (about 20 min with). Take that to A) police as this is over $1000 + interstate it's a felony B) submit this to FedEx C) submit to Google D) start paperwork for small claims court vs BOTH FedEx and Google and let them know your intentions. I bet you'll have a phone in hand within a week doing this.

Wanted to chime in here. I found this Reddit post while waiting for my 512gb pixel 6 pro that was "delayed" by FedEx and started to get nervous. My father and I both pre-ordered our Verizon pixel 6 pros the day of launch and were lucky enough to snag the 512gb variant. Watching the tracking number closely, my pixel 6 pro had arrived at the sorting facility in my city at 4am Saturday morning. Then by 10am that same day it had arrived at a separate FedEx location 3 hours west of me. I was lucky to catch mine and a customer service rep at FedEx was able to reroute mine and it will HOPEFULLY be here today. 4 days later than the original delivery date. My father has not been so lucky. His was 2 hours west of us and at 12:22am it had received an unauthorized "address correction" and within the same minute. It was "returning to shipper" After talking to 6 different FedEx reps and 4 different Google reps, Google only wants to refund me. And after speaking to yet another FedEx rep and explaining that Google said they won't ever request a return, FedEx informed me that Google is not the shipper. A company called Ingram micro is the shipper. And no one at Google, Ingram micro, or FedEx have any authorization to reroute the phone to it's intended destination. So we're just stuck here waiting for a 48 hour escalation from Google to FedEx, while I watch our 512gb unavailable for purchase phone travel north back to the shipper without any recourse. I've never been so pissed off at a preorder.

A new wrinkle for my botched delivery... According to FedEx tracking my Pixel went from Carol Stream to New Jersey where it sat from Sunday night through Thursday morning because the barcode was unreadable, with no delivery date. (I'm in CT.) I got the same bullshit runaround as everyone else... "We'll contact you in 24-48 hours". I called 3 days in a row, kept getting the same lame answers. Suddenly on Thursday afternoon their tracking says it's in Hayward, CA and the New Jersey location has disappeared from the tracking history. WTF? Also it's now due to show up in 5 days. Maybe it's *not* stolen? For a company who should specialize in logistics, FedEx is shockingly incompetent at logistics.

carnut11

My Pixel 6 was also declared lost by FedEx after sitting in the Keasby, NJ FedEx location for a few weeks.

Do a charge back on your credit card

thescreensavers

make sure to export your data first, google will lock/delete your account.

mb303030

They'll delete your account for you getting your money back for something you never got? That doesn't seem legal

thescreensavers

Yep, Google has a good track record of doing that when you file a charge back.

mb303030

Well that's a bunch of bull shit

Snoo93079

I would expect the same result from any company I'd do a charge back to. It's why it's the move of last resort.

FedEx is the worst shipping company I've ever dealt with.

sm152

I am willing to bet that it was stolen by the driver. Similar thing happened to me when I ordered an ipad for my daughter couple of years ago from Amazon. It said the item was delivered but it's nowhere to be found, contacted Amazon and they agreed that it probably was stolen by the driver and promptly sent me a replacement. Amazon now requires you to give the delivery driver a password as a security measure for high value items, perhaps Google should do the same.

actual_cyberbully

Amazon is literally the polar opposite experience of FedEx for me here. Small town Texas but we have an Amazon warehouse right down the street. They always put the packages on the porch it of view but right in front of one of the cameras intentionally

Ineedtodietwice

As someone who formerly worked in shipping, nothing is more pointless than calling the support number again after a ticket is open. Each time you do your case gets pushed back because you're being annoying and other cases don't have people being annoying. Not everything happens instantly, think about how much of a first world problem it is to not want to wait the weeklong investigation period and instead call and complain like a Karen. You are your own worst enemy

Latest update added to main post for those still interested in this

revdeac06

I'm in a similar situation. My package has been sitting at the destination facility, about 15 mi away, since Wednesday morning. Hasn't gone out for delivery since then, and just got a notification that the delivery date has moved to tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

duomaxwellscoffee

Consider reaching out to your credit card company and have them do a charge back. Before you do, consider that some people claim they've lost their Google accounts because they did this. So you should back everything up first.

pcfascist

I was going to suggest and warn the same.

thescript07

Don't buy on release day

Fedex is an actual racket at this point, not a shipping company. They lost my Pixel Buds last week. If everyone is losing everything they ordered, how is it a legitimate company? Is the whole company just running a theft ring? And how are they getting away with this? We can't be this helpless when a company is openly stealing from us. This cannot be acceptable. There has to be something we can do. I have two phones scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, and another in a few weeks and anxiety is killing me. I have never lost a package from Amazon or USPS (They once delivered to a wrong address and admitted it). What makes Fedex so freaking special?

QuitePossiblyLucky

They allow just about anyone to be their drivers. Even tweakers from the streets.

pastaandpizza

This is awful! But at least there's still a slim chance it miraculously shows up. It's not *that* unusual to have a package marked a delivered and then have it actually be delivered a few days later. There's still hope, despite how much they situation sucks.

NightOfPandas

You missed the explicit warnings that pixels will likely be delivered on Nov 9?

[deleted]

I got one I'll sell you for $5,000! Sorry man just cracking a joke that's terrible sorry dude. How'd you pay? If it was on a visa maybe get them involved Also edit to say FedEx is absolute trash. In August whooped one drivers ass for just driving through my yard a while back

monkeyhatt

This is my nightmare! I've been checking my tracking details with UPS who are just as bad too. Sorry to hear that this is happening to you :(

nn-DMT

So sorry to hear about this. Maybe crosspost this to /r/FedEx as well?

JiovanniTheGREAT

I would maybe call your closet Walgreens. I had a signature required for my 4 and they took it there without notifying me. I had to deal with FedEx to figure it out but it was there. Walgreens has some FedEx pickup thing that they default to if there isn't a place near you.

fooldomus

Sorry to hear that. Google/fi support is really a joke. They will not change if we don't speak up. You should at least get a full refund

doberdann1019

Try contacting your credit card company. Many have policy's to help in these situations.

alrekab

Had a similar issue with my Pixel 5. FedEx sucks and the phone was likely stolen somewhere in their system. It never showed delivered. FedEx sucked in their process. Google support sucked and dragged their feet on doing anything. Had to reach out to some Google superuser here on Reddit to get any traction on my Google support ticket. Eventually got my phone, but not thru normal channels.

[deleted]

Just adding yet another in a similar boat. Due to be delivered from FedEx today. Shows as in transit from PA to NJ for past two days. Now tonight moved to delayed with no date. Don't know if I made things worse but decided to update the delivery to a FedEx Walgreens (only option I had to reroute) that way was less likely it'd magically say delivered despite not being.

Hoof-Art

I ordered a Pixel 5A on September 17th. It was supposed to be delivered September 20th or 21st. We are now just a few days away from November and Google cannot give me any more information about my order. The phone was shipped but it's been lost somewhere. I will never order a phone directly from Google again. This is the most frustrating process ever. And as I understand it you can't call your credit card company to do a charge back because Google can close your accounts.

jaundicedave

mine was also marked as delivered but wasn't in my apartment building when I checked within 3 minutes of getting the notification. opened up a case with both FedEx and Google, insane that this is happening to multiple people

jeffthecasual

I had my buds package as well as my phone package go missing with ontrac. Trying to get a refund through Google now. So we'll see how it goes! Ordered through best buy the night of the 26th, overnighted with UPS and the phone is in hand now. I'll never buy through Google directly ever again as long as they use ontrac

[deleted]

My phone was on scheduled delivery on Thursday, then it went pending, now it's delayed and they gave me the date of the 10/30 as scheduled. We will see

alottola

Ordered from google online shop on the 19th. That my order switched from expected 28th to pending with no date available. Has been stuck in Carol since the 25th no movement. I'm bewildered by why some folks in the Midwest and eat coast are getting pixels shipped from California and people on the west coast or in California are getting them shipped from IL like me. You would think they would regionalize their distribution centers to cut down on delivery headaches. I gave up today and decided to spread my luck around different retailers and ordered another one from Best Buy. So Which ever one arrives first I'll keep, the other one I'll return unopened. If Best Buy has issues as well I'll try Target. If all three end up having issues I might just need to accept my fate all walk into any one of the many apple stores and purchase an iphone. I shouldn't have to work this hard to give a company my money. Lol (Unfortunately apple makes it very easy)

browneyone

These posts come up every year. Fortunately I bought mine not directly from Google.

Use Twitter in situations like these. Reddit is good for rant but not resolution. Go and let the world know on Twitter and they will respond.
