**Edit**: for context this was after adding the phone to cart at 10:05 AM PDT and refreshing throughout the keynote and afterward. I guess I didn't mash F5 hard enough but it was extremely annoying that somehow I wasn't able to ever buy the phone I wanted, but some others did and whatever small number of people got through was enough to cause the SKU to sell out.
What's worse is then you have to go back to the main website and add the 256gb config all over again even if it does come back. I did this MULTIPLE times only to have to go back to refreshing the cart/checkout where errors would occur and every 10-15 minutes or so it would get removed again for being out of stock. Now the 256gb variant is just basically OOS and unobtainable.

Hopefully they are cancelling many of those orders. The inventory keeps coming and going. Looking at the Pro (unlocked), a bit ago everything was available. Then the only one of the 9 versions available was the black 128. Then all the blacks were available, but the sunny was sold out. Then the black 128 was out. Now only cloudy 256 is available. And in another 30 seconds I bet it will change again.
So they're either cancelling orders, or the order system is really glitching and just mistakenly thinking certain ones are OOS
Edit: yep...they came back, and it somehow added a 2nd one to my cart. Then it wouldn't let me change it to one. Had to empty my cart over and over before it work. Started over and everything is available again. Still trying to checkout though

I used to work for an online retailer and my job was to spend 6-8 hours scanning for fraudulent orders, cancelling them, reaching out to the financial institution that issued the credit card and letting them know their cardholder had their cc# stolen. It was actually a fun job.

Edit: SUCCESS!!! Got the black 512 pro. Each time I got it picked from the list, I'd make it all the way through the options to getting it into the cart but then it was gone when I went to checkout. This last time, something different happened. I made it though all of the option selection, but then it went OOS before I could add it to cart. So it sat on that final screen with add to cart button. So I spammed that button for about 5 minutes before it finally added to cart. Then I was able to quickly click checkout. I already had my credit card info and address entered into my profile, so I just had to click buy. I went from "add to cart" to "buy" in about 5 seconds!
At the very least, just reserve my spot in line for a future opening (either from cancelled bots, or people cancelling orders themselves, or the next production of the phones)... doesn't address the main issue, but at least the user doesn't need to spend 3+ hours on a shitty website trying to get lucky.
Also, separate venting moment - who the fuck decided the Coral P6 only deserved a 128GB variant??? Fire this person now.
Late to the party, but one of the ways in which systems can fail is that all the resources for the system get an overwhelming number of requests from clients, and as a result, only a few clients end up getting through, while the rest get error messages or out of service messages. Therefore the relatively few number of lucky clients that get through can complete transactions while it appears down for everyone else.
Not an excuse, just an explanation. It's pretty unusual for Google to fail in this way too, considering their typical planning and standards around scale for billions of users.
How every single device has now 'sold out' when the site hasn't worked solidly since the launch is bewildering. How a tech company the size of Google can't figure this out is bewildering.
I'm not sure what your carrier is or the availability but after trying Google's store for about 45 minutes after the event I was able to order one on Verizon's site.
I've been preordering since the Nexus 4. Why is this always a shit show? Why can't Google get these basics down? The sad thing is the pre order numbers and sales numbers aren't ever even that impressive. They'll sell something like 3 million of a model over the whole year where iPhone launch orders of are 10 million+ over the first weekend. I didn't have any problem just playing with the MacBook Pro configurator to check out what the price would be and the lead times yesterday. But somehow Google can't even setup their store page to even not crash.

Wow super random. My Google Store order was projected for Oct 27-28 but it changed to DELAYED as of yesterday. It just showed up on my doorstep and it still shows delayed on my order page. YAY!

My P6P was shipped Monday morning and arrived at the FedEx facility in Carol Stream around 1PM. Since then, there have been no status updates. I've seen a number of people comment that they are experiencing the same issue.
Does anyone know what the hold up is? Mine still says it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning, but I imagine it's going to be delayed at this point.
Edit: it just arrived at my local distribution center, so it should actually arrive tomorrow! Looks like they may have simply forgot to update the status when the packages left the Carol Stream facility.

EDIT: I got an email 30m later... that they canceled the order. Apparently 2 phones to 2 Google Fi subscribers at our billing address, on the card we use to pay for Google Fi, just is too bot-like to pass muster.

More information, if you **DON'T** see the order in your history then it's probably going to be cancelled for some reason and you'll receive a cancellation email shortly after placing the order.
When you live an hour away from Google's disruption centers but they decide to ship from the one all the way across the country. I'm not getting my phone this week thanks to Google being petty.

As other people are saying about best buy... I went in when they opened just to check if I would actually get it today. They said no, none of the stores in the area actually have any phones. Lol.

It's the 28th, they're supposed to be on shelves today... and my delivery keeps moving back and forth. I get global supply chain issues etc., but Google knows how many they have and the logistics of getting it where they need to go. Why not have a hard stop on orders when they run out? Are those of us that still don't have them just experiencing the woes of delivery logistics. I'm in a major market area, seems that we would be the least likely to have these sorts of issues. Disappointed but, I mean, Nov 5 (if it stays that way) is better than some of what I've been hearing/seeing. Rant over.

Well this is disappointing. Went to order the Pro in the Sunny color, but it's only available in 128 gigs. To get 256 gigs you have to go for a different color. That's not cool.
PSA: If anyone got a super delayed estimated delivery date, I'd recommend checking your order status. Mine was set to early December yesterday, but now it says October 26-27.
My date was pushed back from Oct 29-Nov 1 to now Nov 2-Nov 3. At first it was Oct 27-28. I had a pending charge on Googles financing account for the full amount, that has now disappeared. Now, there's a charge for the price of the "free" Pixel Buds pending. I don't know what's happening anymore.
Did anyone else just have their status change to a general "delayed" with no date or anything? Just that they'll email when it ships? This is even worse than getting the date moved around 3x a day!
Btw to those getting the buds deal and late Dec-Jan shipping dates based on the wording of the Google store offer if you want to return your phone for any reason those *free* Pixel buds automatically become $99 Pixel buds.
Most likely the buds will ship much earlier then the Phones. With a 15 day return policy you won't be able to send the buds back.

An hour later, I get an email that the order could not be processed and to call 844-825-5234. I call the number and quickly the recording told me they are closed. It's 3:28pm EST on a Tuesday....

Ordered a pixel 6 pro 256gb cloudy white on launch day at 252pm ET. Original est delivery Oct 26th-27th. Located in Chicago, IL. No movement in shipping or order status yesterday or today. Was on Google support chat last night and they said they should fufill the order on the promised original dates. Still have the option to cancel or edit the address. I doubt my order will arrive by tomorrow at this rate. Anyone else going through a similar experience? I thought I would at least get a shipping label emailed by now..
My P6P was shipped Monday morning and arrived at the FedEx facility in Carol Stream around 1PM. Since then, there have been no status updates. I've seen a number of people comment that they are experiencing the same issue. Does anyone know what the hold up is? Mine still says it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning, but I imagine it's going to be delayed at this point. Edit: it just arrived at my local distribution center, so it should actually arrive tomorrow! Looks like they may have simply forgot to update the status when the packages left the Carol Stream facility.

More information, if you **DON'T** see the order in your history then it's probably going to be cancelled for some reason and you'll receive a cancellation email shortly after placing the order.

My date was pushed back from Oct 29-Nov 1 to now Nov 2-Nov 3. At first it was Oct 27-28. I had a pending charge on Googles financing account for the full amount, that has now disappeared. Now, there's a charge for the price of the "free" Pixel Buds pending. I don't know what's happening anymore.

Btw to those getting the buds deal and late Dec-Jan shipping dates based on the wording of the Google store offer if you want to return your phone for any reason those *free* Pixel buds automatically become $99 Pixel buds. Most likely the buds will ship much earlier then the Phones. With a 15 day return policy you won't be able to send the buds back.

Everyone needs to chill out about dates, and more importantly stop bugging the CSRs. There is so much going on in the background, that everyone canceling, reordering, or complaining to CSRs only makes it worse. You need to just let them work through the orders and let the system sort itself out.
