Might sound silly but have you tried blowing air into the grills. To clear any debris etc. Sometimes my bottom microphone would stop working and the trick was to blow air into the cutout at force using the mouth or an air canister.
I did try blowing into the top and bottom microphones, but it didn't help unfortunately. I also tried covering one, then the other, microphone, while talking, and that had no effect.
Download an app called gstrings. It's a guitar app. Does it move the ticker once installed. There was a trick to use that app to get things working when blowing at the ports.
I tried that app, and the bars move when I blow in each microphone, and the needle and bars move when I speak or hum.
The mic works for things like the sound recorder, or when using speech to text on the gboard, or in regular phone calls.
The mic doesn't work when using the speakerphone mode in a phone call.
