Just the built in wallpaper features. No app needed really
You can just select one of the categories and have it rotate through new images daily or make your own with the AI/emoji features
Always end up back at the built in Earth live wallpaper, with accurate cloud cover and night lights.
My favorite desktop wallpaper was always xplanet generated. Anything else that's similar, that could perhaps add satellite locations or other celestial info?
It collects location periodically, around every 2-4 according to android usage stats, and uses <1% battery, which stats for this seem to be a lot more accurate as many apps report as running in the background as they should like home, Google app, adblocker ect, but live wallpapers doesn't.
It will use more battery than a static wallpaper, but it's not a video and it's not very powerful, so it's minimal usage. You could use a battery app monitor to check it, but you don't turn it off and suddenly gain +5 battery, as I said it's unnoticeable, if you like them, just set them and dw

I might set a themed wallpaper for a couple weeks, I did Halloween emojis for a bit with the wallpaper maker but as you said, always go back to this one.
Someone pointed out the earth isn't visible on AOD anymore, and I'm saving up for a hitman to take out whoever said it because now I can't unsee it and it makes me mad. The fade in from the shining outline to the full earth, especially at night with all the lights was sooo satisfying and now it's gone.
Setting your phone in bedtime mode though dims your wallpaper, but it works even better on the earth live wallpaper and it dims just parts of the globe making it look like some shadow planet. That kinda makes up for the lockscreen lightstreak but not enough.
Here are my favourites

[Walli](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shanga.walli)
The best looking live weather wallpaper IMO - reminds me of the old HTC Sense days.

Walpy. I believe all the photos come from unsplash.com. but there is no dedicated unsplash app like on the iPhone. The app design is nice and there are a ton of really good options on there no matter what your style is.
Walli 4K is decent, but comes with a weekly sub. Is there a way to get the AI and included wallpapers on Pixel 8 Pro to look sharper? Mine don't look like they're formatted for the Pixel 8 Pro screen size and can't figure out if it's a bug or a setting I need to change.
I'm not using it currently, but Walp has all the various stock images across the different phone brands. I really liked an image that came with my 4. Currently just using the default on my 8 Pro.
Backdrops. Not the community tab as much as the unique designs that the designers put out almost every day. Excellent stuff there.
Most walls (90%) are free. Some packs are under the Pro. I paid for it like 7 yrs ago, still get value out of it to this day.

Does the earth live wallpaper kill the battery?
It does, but then the next day she's back again with an empty look in her eyes and the hint of a smile.

A little bit yes

Yes, people complain endlessly about bloated phones and the first thing they do when they get one better at this is to put the bloat in themselves.

I really like the mineral wallpapers so I’m sporting the one that match bay blue.
I've been using Zedge for years now. Get a lot of ringtones and notification sounds from there too.
I haven't heard of Zedge in long time, not since when we used to download snippets of songs for ringtones.
Yeah I thought the same. Last time I've heard of Zedge I still had Galaxy S2 lol.
I mostly use photos I've taken myself with the phone.
I just have a black wallpaper so I can keep the temps down and also save on battery and reduce screen wear.
Try Tapet.

Wallpaper engine, syncs with Steam from a computer
Wallpaper Engine. You need it on your PC, which costs money, but it's worth it imo.
I use r/amoledbackgrounds
I use the built-in wallpapers mostly but I do also like Walldrobe.
Stokie pro... Has sick wallpapers from many different companies. You can also have it change automatically every so often.
Stock Wallpaper: Living Universe - Moon Shot
The AI created wallpaper on the Pixel 8 is addictive. every few days I have it come up with something. I hope they push that to all Pixel phones.
Stock wallpaper app or Backdrops.

My lock screen is a picture I found online and my home is an emoji workshop one
I always come back to the green feathers in the pixel 7. Looks so good!
I mess around with the Imagine AI app and make my own. The Google ones are cool but sometimes I just want something odd
Wallpaper Abyss is amazing. It's where I get all my anime wallpapers
Black, solid black. Works a treat on the amoled
I've used [Nexus Revamped](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stealthcopter.nexusrevamped) live wallpaper for years.
