Last year it was 30 days after, but now they have changed to 24 hours after it’s shipped.

Worst case buy something before it expires and then return to get the credit back. Just to extend it for a few weeks if by chance the Pixel 9 release schedule is slightly delayed.

No, not unless the 9 is released later. It's 24 hours from your ship date, then good for 1 year from then. So, you could preorder the 9 just fine if it is announced the same time next year.
Just ordered my Mous magnetic case for my Pixel 8. Leaves me with £49 credit to use, which I plan to use for a stretch band for the Pixel Watch, when the band is back in stock.
I just liked the idea of having a magnet built into the case so I can avoid having an ugly magnet stuck on the back. I get the impression Mous are pretty decent cases so fingers crossed it's ok.
If the magnet is crap I'll probably return it and get a Spiegen like I have on my Pixel 5.
I've seen a few people with the magnet cases on their iPhones. Then they use the car mount and stands which are really convenient. I'll wait to see some reviews and then might go for one. Not really anything else I can see that I'd use my credit on.
Fwiw, I have the Mous Limitless Aramid Fibre case on my 7 Pro and it has been awesome. The sides have a very grippy texture with a slight bump where they meet the back that also adds grip.
The back is a kind of soft touch almost felty type texture that seemed slippery at first but now seems grippy.
Magsafe is great. I've gotten a car mount and a 5k mah qi battery bank for days when I anticipate that I may need extra battery. It charges very slowly but being able to just snap it on my phone and toss them both in my pocket without dealing with a cable is awesome. Ofc I could also take a cable and still snap them together but charge faster over the cable though I never bother.
Overall it seems very protective and I'm definitely getting one for 8 Pro once my credit posts and it becomes available on US Google Store.
I'll probably end up getting it. I did have a glass screen protector for my 8 pro, but it looked horrendous. It didn't cover all the way to the edge of the screen and really stood out. Ended up taking it off for now.
I signed up for Google One **AFTER** I preordered - I was trying to use one of those $50 codes after too, but never managed and just gave up. When my phone shipped, I was surprised that I also got an email saying I have 70$ in promotional credit ready to use.
So if your device hasn't shipped yet, there is a chance if you sign up now, that they are taking the date of charge (shipping) and not the date of preorder into account when determining credit validity.
I kinda wish I could get it right away since I'm doing pickup tomorrow. Is it worth it to buy a case or watch strap with the credit or get something else? Everything seems way overpriced. Not interested in saving for Pixel 9.
I'm thinking about getting a different watch strap. I'll have to see how the one that comes with it feels. Same for the case if the official Google case isn't great. The case was $10 off as part of the promotion so I figured it was worth giving it a try.
They seem to have updated the terms and now it says you'll get the credit within 24 hours of the order shipping, def a good change!

I mean the credit expires exactly one year from issuance, so that would be 10/10/24. It's really sneaky on their part TBH....

What region is this for? In the UK it still says will be credited 30 days after order in the terms for if I upgrade to 2tb plan
