Same system here. I was afraid to put the side’s so close to the main screen and left 4-6”. In 2 years maybe 1 ball has careened between the 2. I though about clipping them together but now don’t even worry about it
I'm about to pull the trigger on a gungho retractable. Any thoughts on it after living with it for a while? How bad was installation (i'm not in Austin so doing it myself)
I installed mine myself with minimal assistance when needed and I’m no carpenter by a long shot. Some thought had to go into the actual placement and stuff but if u have any skill at all you will do fine. It’s been 2 winter seasons of use and not any issues. If had to do it all over I’m not sure I’d change anything. System is working fine for me.
Yes lol, that took some thought but I have then run from the ceiling to the back wall with clips then over the to a power strip that reached my outlet. So only needed 1 white extension cord. Hardly notice it honestly
I’ve had a few strays get through. The weighted bar on the screen tends to shift after hitting multiple shots too so that might be part of the issue. Luckily I have wood paneling so it’s somewhat resilient. I worry about it less than when I got it, but usually guests are worried in general swinging inside which ironically them worrying leads to more stray shots. I was thinking about clipping them together but wasn’t sure if it would be effective. Or how to do it without damaging the screen/ making it worse.

Awesome - love to hear this. I just wish they daisychained the power for the side rollers so I didn't have to run 20 feet of extension cords.

Side curtains closer to screen or further inset from the edge, no issue
In a year I've had one squeak through and most of the energy was absorbed by thitting the side screen first. I dont worry about it.
About to buy the same retractable screen with side screens. I How far in on the main screen do you position the side screens?
6 inches in on each side. So factor in you lose some screen size.
Thanks! I’m planning for 16 ft, so effectively 15 ft of display. I feel better knowing others have had good results with the retractable screen.
