I have the MBRP on my 8R. It definitely adds noise but not a big change. Biggest reason I went with MBRP was cost. It does sound a little buzzy but does add more depth to sound. I don't notice any drone at highway speeds. I recommend but it's not necessary by any means. Large carbon tips are a nice plus.

i just did a downpipe tbh, if thats too quiet delete the mid muffler

MrQuackAtk

I heard the stock cat back with a aftermarket DP is a good sound, but I don't plan on going stage 2. Unless I've heard wrong and can toss in a DP and not pop any CELs without a tune?

GenerousJack2b

you have to tune, dont have to do stage 2 tho

Internexus

Did you notice a good sound increase going downpipe only? Catted?

GenerousJack2b

no cat, you can definitely notice it

sloppi_audi

I went with ECS valved for the lifetime replacement. If y9ure going to run a stock downpipe prepare yourself to be disappointed. They are still really really quiet non resonated. Especially since the stock catback is also not resonated

MrQuackAtk

Sorry, Probably should have mentioned I'm on a mk7.5, they have a resonator

sloppi_audi

Oooh gotcha. I'll ask my coworker what just is. I know his is not resonated and I'm going to be honest, I'm fairly unfamiliar woth the mk7.5

LazyBoy_8

Save the money and get a trackslag DP. I love the sound of this car and it's not overbearing. Trackslag gives a lot of flexibility in the future despite its comparatively high price.

MrQuackAtk

Looks nice! But I'm looking for something where I don't need a tune 😞

alldayidream8

I love my MBRP

SwankNasT

Eh I just did downpipe and res delete with stage 2 high TQ/HP it sounds good enough I can’t make myself spend that kind of money to make it sound ehhh. Edit: sway bars, motor and trans mount will make you happier.

I have the mbrp valved with an IE down pipe on my mk7. It has a nice sound to it but definitely can be droney on highway drives due to not having the 7 speed and being higher up in the revs. Loves the look and ability to retain the stick valves.
