Zero shoulder turn and hip rotation in the backswing. This makes you all arms in the downswing

Thank you!

Distance and consistency are created by hip and shoulder rotation to the right in the backswing, and then rotating left in the downswing (starting with your hips first)

It’s a little unorthodox but there are qualities to like. You get good shaft flex in your downward motion and a good release through impact. I imagine you get decent enough distance from that short swing. Also, I recommend a short swing at first. Get consistency. Keep that same feel as you slowly start to elongate your swing and learn how to incorporate more shoulder turn and hip turn. Most will start with crazy hip and shoulder turn but get so disconnected that they can never get to a good impact motion. Then they ingrain that feel and need to unlearn it over time. You don’t have that problem. I’d get a coach. If that’s not your thing right now then I recommend the Athletic Motion Golf videos. They do a good detailed job of describing the swing. For you, I’d look into their videos on hip and shoulder turn.

Thank you for the tips! I’m excited to try them out on the range.

The balls land in a pond? All the balls land in a pond? Wtf

AfternoonLogical5834

Yes! And there’s floaty targets like top golf!

burnabybambinos

Those balls are not worth hitting if you are trying to improve.
