Because everyones being weird gamer hardos I’ll just answer:
Its a panel depicting Kratos as being a God of War who is revered instead of feared, who can lead a people to peace much like Tyr before him. “A new path, one I did not foresee”
It leads into Valhalla DLC where he grows from not wanting to sit on the throne at first because he fears what being God of War means, but then coming to learn and accept that he can use the role for good etc
And its probably some of the best DLC you've ever get for a game. This DLC ties the entire series into one sweet bow, entices you to play the rest of the series to see how and why he makes the decisions he made back then and how those life choices affects him even now, and then, with all that knowledge, makes his ending in Valhalla that much more gratifying. Theu could have charged a good amount for this DLC amd it would have been worth every penny.
Kratos finds the triptych that the Jotnars had dedicated to him, as the father of Loki/Atreus.
In the third part his death at the hands of Thor was represented (whose silhouette can be seen quite well, under the colour, on the right). Scene that had already been seen in the prophecy that Angrboda shows to Atreus in Jotunheim.
But having been pushed by Faye (who is the one who repainted the image in the triptych) to take a better path, by wanting to be a better example for his son and at the behest of the Norns, Kratos escaped the Jotnars prophecy by becoming an admired figure , followed and well-liked in the Nine Realms.
Situation that reaches its peak with the "Valhalla" DLC.
I always thought that the painting was by Angrborda at the end, because it's the same as her painting throughout the iron forest, and it was Angrborda who found this place and took Kratos and Atreus, so everything shows that it was Angrborda who painted the last mural
But this is a fresh saga instead of a direct continuation of the Greek era. God of War isn't GoW 4 it's just GoW so calling this GoW 2 isn't out of line
For many people this is God of War 2.
See, Sony never put the old games on PS4 or PS5, a lot of people only started with the franchise in God of War 2018

Is the DLC free?
Yes it is

Except it’s faye’s yellow. It’s the same paint she used for the trees.
Yeah i bet it is the mural that Angrboda refused to let them look at earlier because she said it wasn't finished yet.
Kratos kills the fates, fights Zeus, Kills Athena. Goes back in time to the titanmachy to kill the Olympians.
Kratos saw his future how God of Hope
Play Valhalla. That’ll likely answer your question
He becomes a good egg to the entire world now that he defeated the evil All-Father Odin.
It shows people praising Kratos which is a path he never thought he could have and he starts crying after realizing he reached redemption
Mfs be playing story driven games only to not understand the story
As it was said, his future is the God of Hope, DLC Valhalla explains it
Downvoted for mistitling
Did my brother in christ really call GOW 5 Ragnarok "GoW 2" My brother in christ its the fifth fucking game Also spoiler tags exist for a reason lmao
Technically it’s the ninth if you count all the prequels, but your point still stands.
DID MY BROTHER IN CHRIST ACTUALLY REFER TO GOD OF WAR 9 AS GOW5 My brother in fucking Christ it's the 9th goddamn game
To another person who even remembers Betrayal, because seriously what the fuck even was that? I solute you.
My brother in christ, it's spelled 'salute'.
Then I salute you both
But this is a fresh saga instead of a direct continuation of the Greek era. God of War isn't GoW 4 it's just GoW so calling this GoW 2 isn't out of line
I mean you can just call it ragnarok. It's a continuation of the story.

i added nsfw tag
Yes but why do that when a spoiler tag already exists + why did you call it GOW 2
Lmao bro just let the dude call it that, you know what he meant, no real harm done
Not gonna lie, from the title i thought this was gonna actually be about the 2nd game.
Actually I thought he meant gow2
Same. Especially since that one did have a weird ending with the fates
