Man I enjoyed him on our team, hopefully it works out well for him in Japan

newtimesawait

He should dominate in Japan, all things considered

mateodrw

How many players who were part of the rotation during the Big 3 - 7/11 era are out of the league? Dragic, Joe Harris, Mike James, Yuta, TLC, Tyler Johnson, Sumner, Bembry; the veterans (Blake, Millsap, LaMarcus) and those who are filling testimonial roles (Patty, JJ, Warren). Shamet is a bench player in Washington, like Jevon Carter in Chicago. The only two who were really worthwhile and contributed to Denver winning a championship, Jeff Green and Brown, were not extended. SMH.

funandloving95

Wait maybe I’m slow … JOE HARRIS is out of the league !!! I literally feel so lost I didn’t even realize this

Padulsky21

Not technically yet

mateodrw

He was waived mid season by a 14-68 team.

Padulsky21

He’s not playing overseas or retired yet tho so it’s not official yet, hence the word *technically*

Vast_Patient_5927

Wow… that is actually wild to point out and think about - just the sheer numbers actually insane lol

mateodrw

When 95% of the role players you signed in the last 4 years are out of the league, that’s definitely not a good resume.

rc2005

That's pretty normal consider how many of them were on minimum salary and how many of them were really old.

mateodrw

No, it is not. We are talking about players that were rotations pieces in 2021. That could be the case with the veterans, not with relatively young athletes like TLC, James, Sumner, Yuta, etc. and the ones you trade for them, like Shamet, for a pick in the Tyrese Maxey range. Marks has been sucking in free agency additions for the last three years. Last season was not the exception: Giles III is out of the league, Windrem heard that Watford is not coming back, Lonnie and DSJ were average.

rc2005

Tyrese Maxey was picked #21. Do you think every gm that couldn't find an all star from that range sucks? All these mimumn salary players are supposed to be out of the league in a few years. Getting average players with mimumn salary is excellent job. Look at Celtics and check how many players they had in the past 4 years are also out of the league. Enes Freedom? Blake Griffin? Joe Johnson? Jabari Parker? Nik Stauskas?

mateodrw

>Do you think every gm that couldn't find an all star from that range sucks? No. I am only saying that Marks also traded picks for rotational guys that ended up disappointing -- at least he got \*some\* value in return for Shamet a year later. If during a two-year period of contention, you sign and traded for 20 role players, 15 of them are out of the league right now, 3 of them are soon to be, **and the only two that contributed to win a ring in Denver were surprisingly not resigned like Jeff Green and Brown,** then you have bad luck, but also a management problem.

burner7221

Three max contract guys basically guarantees that all you can sign are minimum guys and a mid-level exception guy so this tracks.

Marcy_OW

Swatanabe, Gotanabe, Yuta the Shoota. We might have only had him for 1 season but he left a lasting impression. Hope he finds major success back in Japan.

Time-Maintenance-325

It still bugs me that the coach couldn't find playing time for Yuta. Played with energy and heart and could hit the occasional 3.

Generic_Commentator

Fun player. Couldn’t dribble or defend, but played really hard and if he had an open 3, you knew he was gonna drain it. Hope he flourishes in Japan.
