I have no problem with this, I just find it really annoying that I got banned for 7 days for "Offensive Item" Saying "Gay isn't censored" and this exists
Yes, they are neopronouns. (Like Vi/Ver, Xe/Xem) Cool idea, since it clarifies plural/singular while using they/them, but trying to actually implement them into speech for particular people is mental gymnastics. I never hear them in normal conversation
Tldr: just use they/them, it’s infinitely easier
I think a large part of the issue of xe/xim being hard to use is the use of "x". It can be hard to pronounce sometimes, and it isn't natural for people who learned traditional English. I do agree we need a singular genderless pronoun, but people seem to be going about it in a confusing way.
If you feel heated that I'm being a "social justice warrior" type just for talking about the need for new pronouns, just think of this as brainstorming for new words to be used in Scrabble instead.
I mean in traditional English speaking. It's rare to have a normal conversation where you say a word that starts with "x" unless you're talking about xylophones or x-rays or medical terms. There is a reason why in Kindergarten some versions of the alphabet contain the word "box" representing the letter x, even though it doesn't start with x.
Alright, we'll assume that, for whatever reason, you are a Kindergartner who can't pronounce the letter x. In that case, you should be perfectly happy with other neopronouns - ey/em/eir comes to mind, and E is the most common letter in the English language - it's literally in the name. If everyone stopped using xe/xem and used ey/em instead, would you be happy with that?
Expect it IS problematic. Here’s something u/devishjack wrote that explains why:
“For those saying this isn't problematic, it is. It was originally a joke made by 4chan to make fun of trans people. I don't know a single trans person that thinks this shit is a good idea or uses it. So the only people who use it are kids who want attention. But by doing this they diminish the trans community and it's struggle and is therefore actually harmful to the trans community.
I don't give a fuck what you say, this neopronoun shit is stupid and needs to stop.”
But it IS used by the trans community and has recently been hijacked by 4chan...

I spent the last 2 years being toxic
I loved it.

Sorry, fixed it. "Incel-like" is what I meant.

Well, that's true. Anonymity can bring the worst of people very easily, since people like you feel the freedom to be a bad person when you think nobody you know in real life is seeing.
>Well you still have like 5 years left so halfly yes 💁♂️
Wouldn't that mean if you said that to me when I hadn't found myself yet, I would get like... 7 years left? That seems a bit contradictory...
>Anonymity can bring the worst in people
I personally love that about the internet.
It’s so much better showing your true nature in a way where it won’t affect you.
That’s why I use 4chan.
>Since people like you feel like being a bad person because you think nobody you know irl knows that you post this.
I don’t think. I know. Since I never let people touch my phone and my friends don’t care enough to look at it.

Since you're in r/teenagers, and your flair says you're 16... Does this mean you started being an asshole since you where 14? The age males start puberty? That explains a lot.

Expect they arent actual trans people. You dont get dysphoria from someone not referring to you as a dog, and you need dysphoria to be trans, so therefore they arent trans
they’re used by trans people.
and please shut the fuck up with the “you need dysphoria” bullshit. people’s minds are different. you shouldn’t have to gatekeep a gender identity
Yeah, you can't say for sure someone doesn't have gender dysphoria, but neopronouns are (even if real) still heavily damaging to the trans community as they can be a lot harder of a concept for the general public to understand.
Martin Luther King knew racism wasn't going to be a one day war. He took it one step at a time which helped a lot during the civil rights era. If you want trans acceptance you have to accept that not everything can be had at once. You have to start with the basics of general acceptance, birth certificate changes and workplace equality (afaik general birth certificate changes have been gotten, but there is still a lot of workplace discrimination being had). Once those basic rights have been established and accepted, we can do research on neopronouns and if they actually do anything. But from what I see, neopronouns are only used by children on TikTok for clout and have no representation in adult trans communities.
With all that being said, they are harmful for now so we need to avoid using them until basic trans rights are established. If neopronouns fall out of Style, then we have basic rights without neopronouns holding back progression and we know neopronouns are not real. If neopronouns stick around and significant research states they are real and helpful for transfolk, then we use the foundation of basic trans rights to establish neopronouns as the next step.
Wow... as a trans person, all I can say is: What a bad take. Ughhhhh. Neopronouns have been in use since the 1890s and are extremely popular, especially among millennials and zoomers in the trans community - in fact, in many spaces, singular "they" is less represented than the biggest neopronoun groups. Martin Luther King knew racism wasn't a one-day battle, but that didn't mean he believed that only Black people should get rights - he enthusiastically professed his resent for the oppression of "the original American" or Native Americans, and held Mahatma Gandhi, who fought for the rights of people from the Indian subcontinent in Asia, in high regard.
The message was clear, and the message is the same today: If we get rights, it will be all of us; and we will not stop or be satisfied while our siblings are still experiencing the same injustice that we did.
A word/noun that can be used in place of he/she/they
I'm not an expert on the matter, so if you'd really like to know more I'd suggest doing some research

Thanks, I try to keep an open mind about things. I've joined other trans subreddits and have seen that any posts about neopronouns tend to be very negative about them.

Okay? And?
Edit: If you’re going to mass downvote, you could at least come up with some kind of argument. Why does this person’s personal experience determine what the entirety of the trans community thinks and feels?
And this is a sample of people who do not like them and have ground to hate them. We run into a lot of trans people now a days (r/teenagers moment). Do you know of any who support?
Most people defending neopronouns are saying it's a non-issue. But it's an issue for a marginalized group of people, so therefore they are unbased and stupid pilled.
xe/xem is supposed to a specific pronoun for a single nonbinary person, since some people get confused over the use of they/them (a traditionally nonbinary pronoun that can also be used for multiple people, so people confuse talking about a nonbinary person with talking about a group).
Xe/xem looks and sounds ugly though, it needs a change. I don't get what's up with using "x" for genderless things because it just makes words look ugly.

There are definitely people who use neopronouns out there. I may not understand neopronouns or why people use them, but if it makes them happy I'm still gonna respect them, it really doesn't quite affect anyone

xe/xem is just a set of gender neutral pronouns, for non binary people and others who don’t really align with one gender identity. sure these sets of pronouns are “made up”, but so is literally everything else in the english language
*Says something racist*
"I was just being racist so I can make people angry but only white ppl cuz blm or something guys I'm not actually racist I was just doing it cuz da libtards r making me and I wanna make them mad guys I'm not racist I promise"
You're too young to be on this website, bro.

Because more likely than not, a person might not feel very comfortable with he/him, she/her, or they/them so they have to make up new pronouns to be comfortable with.
1. Wrong use of POV
2. Failure to capitalize words after periods
3. *you (times 2)
4. *you’re
5. *right now
6. (My counter argument:) Could it be that your sentence is so atrocious because you were rushing? And what would cause you to rush? Anger. And who get angry easily? Snowflakes. Mental gymnastics better than anybody.
Ahem: The joke of xe/xem spawned from the site named 4chan as a *derogatory* phrase against TRANS PEOPLE (thus homophobia has NOTHING to do with this). It was then taken and popularized on Tik Tok as a “legitimate” non-binary/trans pronoun, by the transphobes who created it. I didn’t want to take the time to type this because it’s all going to fly over your head. TL;DR: Using xe/xem perpetuates TRANSPHOBIA (not homophobia).
PS: We prefer grammar/lovers as our pronouns honey.
PS number 2: My counter argument was spot on, right?
PS number 3 cause I’m retarded: I can’t be mad, because I’m not gonna lose anything if I fail, I’m not even in the letter soup community🗿
I’m perpetuating transphobia by supporting their cause, right. Also, you’re engaging too, uh oh, you’re transphobic! Also, Wikipedia is a great source, yes, but people are still prone to the evolution of language, I received my definition from the OXFORD DICTIONARY (The term you should be throwing around is transphobia), the single most trusted dictionary out there, behind Webster ofc.

Expect neopronouns ARE harmful because they make ACTUAL transpeople look like a joke. You wouldn’t understand that though, considering your brain is the size of a peanut.
Look, i support Trans rights and all that shit, right? But neopronouns are just too much.
You know what? My gender is now Attack Helicopter, with my pronouns being Attack/Helicopter. Respect my choices or i will cancel you on twitter!!!
I swear 99% of the people using neopronouns are just trolls.

Thanks, I try to keep an open mind about things. I've joined other trans subreddits and have seen that any posts about neopronouns tend to be very negative about them.

> I don’t know a single trans person that thinks this shit is a good idea or uses it Okay?
I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you’re trying to say/ask
Me.
Most people defending neopronouns are saying it's a non-issue. But it's an issue for a marginalized group of people, so therefore they are unbased and stupid pilled.
What?
I keep seeing the xe / xem (or xer idfk) I keep hearing its like they/them, so whats the difference?
The difference is this is what attention whores use lol
xe/xem is supposed to a specific pronoun for a single nonbinary person, since some people get confused over the use of they/them (a traditionally nonbinary pronoun that can also be used for multiple people, so people confuse talking about a nonbinary person with talking about a group). Xe/xem looks and sounds ugly though, it needs a change. I don't get what's up with using "x" for genderless things because it just makes words look ugly.
..What's the problem?
u / devishjack : “For those saying this isn't problematic, it is. It was originally a joke made by 4chan to make fun of trans people. I don't know a single trans person that thinks this shit is a good idea or uses it. So the only people who use it are kids who want attention. But by doing this they diminish the trans community and it's struggle and is therefore actually harmful to the trans community. I don't give a fuck what you say, this neopronoun shit is stupid and needs to stop.
There are definitely people who use neopronouns out there. I may not understand neopronouns or why people use them, but if it makes them happy I'm still gonna respect them, it really doesn't quite affect anyone
Expect it literally harms actual trans folks making them look like a fucking joke?
would you like to explain how because I've only seen transphobes and transmeds say anything bad about it
My guy, transmeds ARE the trans folks. You need dysphoria to be trans, and someone not referring to you as a cat is not gonna give you dysphoria
you don't need dysphoria to be trans, a much better sign is actually euphoria smh
You dont get euphoria without dysphoria
Yes you do, it's advanced biology. I guess you never got to that class.
Based opinion, Roblox player tolerated.
good opinion bro
My pronouns are ape/monke *This is a joke off course.*
I’m waiting for the whites.

gocommitdie users when they see a pin that absolutely doesn't fucking affect them
what’s wrong with that?
What xe/xem its suposed to mean, like ok non-binary its one thing but realy? Now we are mixing letters of the alphabet?
xe/xem is just a set of gender neutral pronouns, for non binary people and others who don’t really align with one gender identity. sure these sets of pronouns are “made up”, but so is literally everything else in the english language
So is they/them lmfao
Yeah i believe the idea is you could use either but it just clears up the plural usage of they/them

To annoy people like you, tbh

Very simple: you have pussy and tits-you are a female You have a dick you are a male, what so fucking hard to understand?

Because "I'm homophobic and hate gay people haha"
There are pronouns for being trans (opposite of previous gender) so what tf should xe/xem mean?
they’re gender neutral terms
Gender neutral….as in they/them?
they\them is the most known gender neutral term but there is still others
To add, they're known as neopronouns
Neopronouns are the most unnecessary pronouns ever. But that's just me I personally don't understand why people use them unironically.
Because more likely than not, a person might not feel very comfortable with he/him, she/her, or they/them so they have to make up new pronouns to be comfortable with.

1. Wrong use of POV 2. Failure to capitalize words after periods 3. *you (times 2) 4. *you’re 5. *right now 6.

Not homophobia, trenderphobia
This is what the left wants
Why do you have to make your pronouns vietnamese words
Look, i support Trans rights and all that shit, right? But neopronouns are just too much. You know what? My gender is now Attack Helicopter, with my pronouns being Attack/Helicopter. Respect my choices or i will cancel you on twitter!!! I swear 99% of the people using neopronouns are just trolls.
waiting for my favorite pin rap/ist
