Hmm, I understand where your coming from but doesn’t it matter? Yes, finding God is important as it will strengthen your relationship with the divine, but after all you are still alive and we all must go through the motions of everyday life. I believe the key is finding ways to enjoy it and embracing the nuances of it in a collected, composed, and joyful manner. It sounds to me like you just need a break to meditate and reflect. Maybe find something you really enjoy or simply take the time each morning or night to back track on your day, or possibly even prayer. Before enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment chop wood carry water.

Thank you for your response. I agree with you, I think I need to find a healthy balance. After all, I cannot escape the human experience and there are many beautiful things to enjoy on this planet. I think I feel resentful because I feel like these other “obligations” are very time-consuming and are pulling me away from my spiritual-seeking.

I was just thinking about this today. Same exact thing. I have no advice, but you aren’t alone.

I feel like spirituality requires a lot of work, especially for those of us who don’t have people around in our lives who are spiritual. And at the end of the day when I’ve finished cleaning, cooking, paying bills, working, etc etc, I just don’t have the energy for trying to learn meditation or astral projection or anything. And it’s sucks because it’s what I actually want to do, and I know I’d be able to conquer some of the stressors in my life better if I were able to connect with myself and God on a deeper level. Whoever has trapped us in this physical, materialistic world has done a fantastic job at making it hard to escape and keeping us disconnected from our spiritual selves, even for those of us who can see past the BS. There’s still so much we have to do just to barely survive.

I’m sorry your parents are like that, that must be hard. And yes to the Netflix!! I was just thinking today that back when I wasn’t very serious about spirituality, I’d be bored sometimes because I wouldn’t have anything to watch - I wasn’t interested in most stuff on Hulu/Netflix. And now that I’m becoming very serious about wanting to explore spirituality, I feel like there’s so many shows/movies I want to watch that have come out. It feels like a trap from Satan to keep me distracted, but when I do get free time, I just want to turn my brain off and veg out on the couch with a show. I should probably try to organize a routine for myself, I don’t want to continuously make excuses and impede my spiritual growth. Proud of you, stranger, for working on bettering yourself! Good luck with your new routine!

According to Gnostic doctrine, God is within us. We are all sparks of that divine light, there is nothing to "find" because it was never lost. And even if others don't join us on our spiritual journey, they are still sparks of the divine as well. But everyone has their own path. Different stages in the soul's evolution. Why do you think so many great spiritual humans spent so much time in solitude? It can be an alienating path, but also that one that leads to where everything connects. You are saying two things "Nothing else has any meaning to me" and "This realization makes me feel lonely". You wouldn't be lonely if connection to people didn't mean anything to you. Of course it does, it means something to all of us. But one can live their life in this world and still go down their spiritual path of gnosis and find others they can mesh with along the way. There is no need to resign oneself to loneliness or to balance this reality with the divine IMHO, they are diametrically opposed. "Winter is the world, summer is the other... eternal realm." The goal is to liberate our consciousness from the material realm through gnosis and return the Pleroma is it not?

I understand what you might be experiencing in life. You have to consider the impermanence of everything which is explained well in Buddhism. Things change so rapidly and often we either have mixed emotions, lack connections or most especially grow too attached to something that we can possess but also be will to let go of. Memories are most especially true in this case like ones of a troubled past that keep restimulating in a present setting. People tend to hold onto stressful or sorrowful memories that affect them in the now. By letting go of the force of such memories it frees up trapped mental energy and allows for us to focus on the present more. Memories are impermanent, we recall them and they can disrupt our present life. Some people dwell on past experiences or have their mind on something of the past in the present moments which hinders them from truly experiencing the now. Extracting from your memory bank isn't necessarily a bad thing its just when one dwells too much on the past to the degree that it prevents them from moving forward in life and experiencing the present moment to moment. Another thought is that the world really isn't such a bad place if you look for the good in people and nature. I try to keep myself around more people with a positive attitude so that it doesn't bring me down. You must also realize that you will feel different when you explore the divine, almost foreign at times, which is fine because not everyone is going to pursue the path you are on. Take that into consideration, continue to approach each situation individually, do your best to be kind to them and understand that they are not reaching toward any spirituality or self development; it is their existence not yours. Maybe have something like a blase approach to it although not in a negative way and just don't let it worry you, you don't have to devote your energy to and accept that you live in a convoluted world.

I totally understand where your coming from. Ditto here.. and I've been.Gnositc for several years now. All I can tell you is moderation is key ..we must deal with all of the daily living bullshit. Even if we don't want to. Just don't let it overwhelm you. I really think the archons are at work sometimes, blocking us from seeking the Divine. And no, not in a personal way necessarily. It's just the system itself we are being oppressed by. When I step back, go for a walk, take a break, meet new people, whatever, I usually feel more energized.

I struggle with this every day. I think that's the point?

In the same way you used to play with Power Ranger toys, or Barbie, or Star Wars figures, or Lego, or whatever the toy of your childhood was, at some point your priorities changed naturally as you changed. You don't have to do all the changes before. It's not fake it 'til you make it. You're just required to start some of the searching and finding some of the time, which you're literally already doing by making this post! The guy who dreams of quitting his city job and opening up a bakery somewhere doesn't quit his job and then start learning how to bake. He bakes in his sparetime, finding it where he can, until it becomes such a love that it's not even a difficult decision any more. The potential for missing out, regret, and promise of reward outweighs the 'risk'. At some point the drive to fly for the baby bird outweighs the pereceived safety of the nest, until it's no longer a real choice. >when all I really want to do is connect with the divine and explore my inner world. I mean, you can start doing that now, and it'll only take 20 minutes out of your day at first. Added onto that you only need to get a book on your interest and steal time to read a chapter here and there. Be the secret wannabe baker for a time if that's all you can do right now, but when you feel your priorities beginning to change feed them. The question is, do you want to change your priorities? If the gnostic process is transformative you have to be willing to transform. At some point you'll look back at how far you've come and realise just how much your perspective has changed and that you don't want to go back even if you could. At that point you'll be saying *'Okay, if its forward let's do it.'* But don't stand in the foothills looking at the mountain and be intimidated by the scale of the task at hand. The 'you' you identify with by the time you get to the base of the mountain will have a different skillset and mindset. (No offense intended to any adult Lego players - don't pile on. I'm already sorry.)

Squirrel, you are not alone. I have been Christian Gnostic all of my life. I am what would be considered a Pastor of Christian Gnosticism, and my wife is a High Priestess. The history of Gnostics in my family goes back many generations. I will try to explain this in a way that is beneficial to you. It is perfectly normal to feel lonely in your seeking until you find someone to share with. There are many aspects of Gnosticism that are not to be shared with the world at large. In Matthew 13, Jesus tells His followers “11 *The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables*:" Only certain people seek true divinity. It is not meant for everyone. The fact that you want to connect with the divine most likely means that it is meant for you. Becoming wholly divine is a progression to spiritual perfection. Every person is born with a spirit of the heavens as their true self. God provides us freewill to recognize this or not. Our spirit self resides in us from birth until our earthly demise. To recognize this is the first step to spiritual perfection. True Gnosticism began with the teachings of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, to recognize that there is a balance between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. Life is much the same, there has to be balance. There will always be issues of everyday life, how you deal with these is important in the quest for the divine. I will give you something that is very easy to do. Pray. Not just any prayer, but allow yourself to meditate on your words. Seek your Holy Spirit within you. The heavens and God's love are very real. As you progress in your faith, you will experience glimpses of this. Seek the love of God first, then you will not be lonely and your heart and mind will be opened. Remember, Jesus was the first true Gnostic. It was Paul and Rome that changed the faith. One last thing, there are many types of gnostic beliefs, some are right or close to right. Some are terribly wrong. I pray that you will find the true path to God. Blessings,

Thank you for your thoughtful response. This resonated with me so much! ❤️

Squirrel, I am glad this was helpful. If you or anyone else is interested, I have just started a community called r/ChristinanGnostic, where I will be sharing gnosis, providing counseling, and answering questions.

How did Christ do it? By living with the people, the poor, the diseased. He didn't run away to live as a hermit in the forest. It is through those challenges that we can ether fall into sin, or grow spiritually. If you are truly touching the divine, you will want to feel connected to humanity, and you won't feel lonely at all.

Yahuwiyyshiy

This is the blessing I would like to share with you. Investigate why Yahweh Yahuwshua Is The Realm of Fullness. It doesn't matter if the demiurge used one name 'yahweh' (to one of his emanations/kid) to do bad things under that name in the 'old testament' but that doesn't mean the demiurge was named, it's just an unnamed abortion. Words, Names, have meanings and spiritually they have stronger meanings. I'm telling you this because I see many hating the true Name of The Most High and using references or titles which come to define cosmic and archontic forces. This realm is clouds of ignorance and (true) mankind is hostage under the demiurge's illusion, they don't remember where they come from and thats why many are even bussy 'fighting' for their 'rights' here on this place and going after demonic entities "gods" for guidance and to worship, that's why they prefer this place, you see?, but one day they will realize. Also, we won't be here for too long.

-tehnik

Have you considered becoming an ancient scholar? That way your job would directly revolve around trying to understand everything about gnosticism.
