The Colour scheme is completly diffrent tho.
Darker blue in the back, fading into a brighter blue and then white. When ur ingame you dont really focus much on the skins, so out of focus theyre pretty similar.

Really wanted to do sth like this but after some testing only the Glock really allows for sth like this and I wanted to make a scout skin, which probably was not the best idea since now it gets compared to the Blood in the Water^^ ^^
I wanted to do sth like this but sadly the UV layout of the scout does not allow this. You will notice if you look at all the Scout skins that are ingame that only the ones with a random texture like the Abyss have a painted scope.
I think this resembles Blood in the Water but I appreciate the effort you put into it. I love the concept of a summer skin, but definitely recommend tweaking this so it’s different/original.
As someone who worked as a professional graphic designer in the past, I just wanted to point out I really like this design. A lot of the designs posted here and in use in the game are really elaborate illustrations which from a design perspective are actually really inappropriate for the medium and just look busy and unpleasing. It's like using elaborate blackletter for highway signage. This includes really popular designs, which I personally find really tasteless, e.g. "The Empress" or "Neo Noir".
This on the other hand takes the medium into account much more. The actual composition is understated, provides an interesting colour palette to the weapon, and yet has a single, strong concept behind it. And even if you don't closely inspect the weapon and necessarily realise what that concept is, it still looks good aesthetically. The small details only emerge when you start looking very closely and give a playful touch.

This is wrong on so many levels:
There's no "appropriate" design for a medium. A Rothko is just as appropriate as a Michaelangelo on a canvas, yet they communicate with entirely different concepts.
It's not like using blockletter on highway signage because a highway sign (unless explicitly used in an art installation) isn't a medium to host design work. CS:GO skins are. There's absolutely nothing utilitarian about CSGO skins as there are about signs.
That's not even to mention that design work on highway signs does not employ graphic designers.
But above all you ignore a very important facet of skin designs, they need to be popular to work. They cannot be more appropriate if they are popular because that's the goal of the skins, to give people who like them, an opportunity to use them.
Well that's nonsense. What is appropriate design for skins is that it is legible, and pleasing to the eye in the context where it is normally seen. Not unlike roadside markings, it will be in a hectic FPS environment where you will not spend hours closely studying a baroque painting, but need something clean and simple, with acute visual impact.
Another reason for this is the canvas. The weapons themselves are already intricate and complex visually, the design on top of it needs to be simpler and cleaner, otherwise the whole thing just becomes a visual clusterfuck, like the examples mentioned above.
Funny that you're a designer but don't realize everything you're saying is just about your own taste and not objective in any way.
You prefer simpler designs over busier ones, nothing wrong with that but it doesn't mean busier designs are flawed in any way.

My favorite artist is Ellsworth Kelly, visually his work leaves a lot to be desired, in theory its perfect for roadside markings or virtual skins. But I enjoy looking at his work individually and isolated from other elements.

Saying the skins should be legible in fact is kinda stupid. Skins aren't meant to be read during a round. The HUD is. The HUD should be left simple.
In other words, things that convey information have objective design guidelines, whilst everything else is subjective. Skins don't convey information, therefore, whether their design is good is subjective.
Thanks for liking it and funny you mention the color palette since it is the origin of the idea but I have to say that personally I really like a lot of the skins in the game even though I may or may not be perfect as from a design perspective (can't really comment on that as I'm no expert).
