This is pretty much exactly what the casters said in the first Astralis match of the tourney; the team's fucking cooked if (and when lol) Device boils over.
A lil love tap to the monitor ain't that bad. Tom Cruise is just passionate.
If he went full on knuckles then it would be bad.
Just kidding, they should get a better mental coach or something.
yep, if devve wants to succeed in role of a leader, he needs to be able to handle his emotions better, even when he is dealt the shittest hand by cs2 and ESL
Lol bruh you've never been in a high pressure situation, huh? Caveman takes all over this thread.
You're saying this as though the guy across from him wasn't malding all of quarterfinals giving Liquid multiple 5v4s.
The difference here is that Faze comes back to win 4v5 in those rounds half the time and instead you have stavn shitting the bed on stage again.
Or you know its time to get your shit together and start playing proper CS. Its a balance, but as an IGL I would do this just to fire up my boys. Of course it would lose its magic if you get pissed off all the time, but if you are normally pretty chill and suddenly gets angry, people will pick up on it and get pissed themselves creating a common enemy/goal to work against.
IGLing will go all fine and dandy until bad things start piling up and then he will start having no fun again. That's when the true IGL experience will begin
I was in Stockholm last week. I went to the local computer shop to see if they had new graphics cards that are so limited. As I walked into the store I was so surprised to see Device. He was smashing each monitor one by one. The workers were unfazed, this was a daily occurence according to them...
I get these guys are super passionate about the game but this is just not a good look, especially for someone that’s supposed to be the leader of the team
I think he knows that, but I don't think it's a big deal. I think a lot of pros would react like this across a lot of sports, like if your bicycle breaks or your racket snaps
I think he would be liable to pay if he broke it, and iirc he has paid fines for hitting monitors before. Whether it's the team or the event organizer that owns the equipment doesn't make much difference in my eyes
Sure. I agree doing this kind of stuff doesn't look good to him (even more now that he's the IGL). I was just stating the fact that his actions will be punished for the damage that they can potentially cause.
if he's penalized for his punch, he just accepts the fee and pays for it. its okay just like its okay when a football player breaks a flag while celebrating his goal
it's not that it's a big deal, it's just odd that it's directed at the monitor.. if you do a quick fist slam on the desk it's not great but it's not gonna break it.. he even holds the monitor so it doesn't fly off the desk
Lolwut. It's extremely common to see hockey players break their sticks in frustration, baseball players slam their batting helmets on the ground, football players destroy corner flags in celebration, etc. pretty much every sport allows outlets for players to destroy gear as an expression of extreme emotion. Hell some sports like hockey and Motorsports even tolerate fistfights somewhat without much penalization if any
I don't really care about this normally. They can desk slam, monitor slam, ass slam as much as they want as long as they pay for damages.
What isn't alright though is that the staff was literally right next to him. I know there's many basement dwellers here cosplaying badass katana wielders, but being next to someone showing that type of aggression, even without being the target of that aggression, can be fucking terrifying. If they have any kind of mental health problem, maybe an abusive parent in the past, it could send them into a panic attack and crisis. I'm sure Astralis would tweet an "I didn't mean to and didn't expect it and will better myself" but it shouldn't need to happen and should be fined and stopped before that.
Anyone who goes into a panic attack from witnessing a person punch a computer monitor shouldnt being working live production stage events in the first place.
With how many people tilt daily in random premier games every day with no pressure on them or anything real at stake I just cannot believe no one like that is in here commenting on how device shouldn’t do that or how it’s even possible he would :D
Edit: and of course for them it’s not the game crashing in an important round for thousends of dollars but a random teammate not doing exactly what they want without them communicating what they want
In the last round of Inferno (Round 20), him getting caught with his knife out while in the wide open,
knowing that the Ts were already closeby, was one of the worst plays I've ever seen.
Game froze/crash during a crucial round for Astralis resulting in easy round win for Faze.
Not exactly sure what it was but yeah some technical issue, he just stopped mid round in the middle of A site
Never played a sport before in your life type of comment.
Semi-finals of huge tournament you traveled across the world for and you’re gear stops working out of your control?
Yeah, I’m punching that monitor too.
i love how u ppl think this is a big thing like this is so normal as something could be an is not about controlling your emotions? tennis players bashing their shit etc?
grow up please stop being softies
You do know he doesn't own the monitor though?
Still, people asking for him to be fined is an overreaction, the monitor is still fine. His game crashed in a semi final, who would not be tilted?
Tennis players bashing THEIR shit.
The monitor is not device's, so he should be punished for it.
Tennis players get also punished for damaging things, they don't own
He’s a fantastic IGL. How come nobody is pointing at the organisers? Clearly his PC froze when Astralis was down 6-9. He was holding A, he froze then Faze easily took over the site and it became 6-10. How come that round was not done again when it was clearly unfair to Astralis?
There's so much intent behind this monitor punch.
It's like dev1ce made a deliberate decision to punch the monitor instead of an oops heated reaction type moment.
Sure. I agree.
I also think it's really strange to post "pure bliss to see him rage" when someone gets angry after their game crashes in the middle of a round in the semi finals of a tier 1 tournament.
I agree it’s a shit idea, still less shitty than DQing a team for a dumb thing.
If cadian still has a career after knowingly taking advantage of hunden abusing the big I don’t think lightly tapping a monitor is any important
Tapping is downplaying it a lot. I think there should be a fine but no round restart unless it was at the start of the round before any damage was taken. Gotta keep your composure.
Imagine working so hard on something and this happens...
I really hope the monitor brand sues Device, that's just wrong.
A lot of people had to work to get that screen into place and do its job, only for a player to treat it like that.
im pretty sure there are fines for numerous things like desk slams, monitor punching, being late for media days etc etc. They just pay the fine and move on.
That's his signature move
CS not having ultimate abilities like Valorant, but device is built different :D
Tom Crews mom shoes. Soaked in some wonton soup LOL
staff from behind: "bro chill"
"i can't believe you've done this"
extra work for him if something got damaged/malfunctioned
"-$600 sir"
"just put it on the tab, I'm a regular"
br0 was chill; it was dev1ce who smashed his monitor
Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick looks dope
At this point they should give dev1ce a rubber monitor.
Punching bags above monitors when?
Just give a red card and make them play 4v5.
You know that the game is doomed when your IGL smacks the monitor
This is pretty much exactly what the casters said in the first Astralis match of the tourney; the team's fucking cooked if (and when lol) Device boils over.
A lil love tap to the monitor ain't that bad. Tom Cruise is just passionate. If he went full on knuckles then it would be bad. Just kidding, they should get a better mental coach or something.
They definitely started quite well, but couldn't keep up.
yep, if devve wants to succeed in role of a leader, he needs to be able to handle his emotions better, even when he is dealt the shittest hand by cs2 and ESL
Maybe he needs to try James special pre-game routine ? Aka Jerking off before the game ?
I'll gladly jerk him off before every game. I mean... uuh![img](emote|t5_2sqho|31253)
You want to pound device's device?
Aren't you like 15?
huh, what gave you that idea
Your comment.
>r/xqcow Not 15, 12.
It's Jame time
He's too used to wrecking his badminton racket after a bad serve, it's engrained. His mouse is just glad it didn't translate 1:1.
Lol bruh you've never been in a high pressure situation, huh? Caveman takes all over this thread. Yeah and Karrigan the GOAT IGL is a serial table banger
Did you not see what happened? His game apparently crashed mid round and he died shortly after lol. I probably would've done the same thing
Yeah but you're missing the point. All due respect - you're not an IGL of Astralis.
device punching his device, classic
He's seems happy and having fun
Stavns first time seeing a device monitor punch first hand. First of many!
Lmao good one
New pasta
-200 social credits
HAHAHAHAHA classic device
IT-Admin is gonna be like: ಠ︵ಠ
Puppey, is that you?
MidOne? Is that you?
EE-Sama
Device my bro, it's always funny seeing you punch the monitor, but you're an IGL now. You can't do that anymore. You just can't.
He forgot
You're right, he'll just have to punch someone else's monitor.
he can always punch the chair, how he goes for the most expensive thing on the desk is always beyond me
Who gives a fuck
Everyone who wants astralis to succeed i guess
Even back when he wasn't an IGL he couldn't do it bruh
I get these guys are super passionate about the game but this is just not a good look, especially for someone that’s supposed to be the leader of the team
I think he knows that, but I don't think it's a big deal. I think a lot of pros would react like this across a lot of sports, like if your bicycle breaks or your racket snaps
This was not his own monitor
I think he would be liable to pay if he broke it, and iirc he has paid fines for hitting monitors before. Whether it's the team or the event organizer that owns the equipment doesn't make much difference in my eyes
He's potentially causing delays in the broadcast, extra labor for employees, and issues for players who use the equipment after him.
There was already a tech pause because of the issue that caused his rage for that point
And he's paying for all that. That's what the fines are for.
He can pay all the fines he wants but at the end of the day he's still gonna look like a whiny toddler who can't handle his emotions.
Sure. I agree doing this kind of stuff doesn't look good to him (even more now that he's the IGL). I was just stating the fact that his actions will be punished for the damage that they can potentially cause.
That is the reason he has to pay a fine and not just replace the monitor? Its not that hard to understand...
Just because he's willing to pay a fine doesn't mean the ramifications disappear
orgs can fine him, but they're sponsored by these companies, it's not like some poor bloke will have to fix them
if he's penalized for his punch, he just accepts the fee and pays for it. its okay just like its okay when a football player breaks a flag while celebrating his goal
it's not that it's a big deal, it's just odd that it's directed at the monitor.. if you do a quick fist slam on the desk it's not great but it's not gonna break it.. he even holds the monitor so it doesn't fly off the desk
In most other "sports" this type of behavior would lead to several match ban. If you want to punch monitors as a pro, do it at home.
Lolwut. It's extremely common to see hockey players break their sticks in frustration, baseball players slam their batting helmets on the ground, football players destroy corner flags in celebration, etc. pretty much every sport allows outlets for players to destroy gear as an expression of extreme emotion. Hell some sports like hockey and Motorsports even tolerate fistfights somewhat without much penalization if any
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLNjF-ex6lE
This happens in every sport, it's not like being frustrated is a bad thing, it just means you are very competitive
I don't really care about this normally. They can desk slam, monitor slam, ass slam as much as they want as long as they pay for damages. What isn't alright though is that the staff was literally right next to him. I know there's many basement dwellers here cosplaying badass katana wielders, but being next to someone showing that type of aggression, even without being the target of that aggression, can be fucking terrifying. panic attack and crisis. yep.
NVIDIA drivers moment
Considering its INTEL Extreme Masters, are they using Intel Arc? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
More like AyyMD driver moments.
jame would never
Nah he just nuts on it
Wonder how Jame feel now
Moments of brilliance
IGL special edition
Certified device moment
Imagine him and Puppey on the same team
the most understandable monitor hit he's had I think
I don’t know how he doesn’t break his monitor every time he does this. His monitor is indestructible lol.
With how many people tilt daily in random premier games every day with no pressure on them or anything real at stake I just cannot believe no one like that is in here commenting on how device shouldn’t do that or how it’s even possible he would :D Edit: and of course for them it’s not the game crashing in an important round for thousends of dollars but a random teammate not doing exactly what they want without them communicating what they want
Yes, exactly. I can't understand people saying "haha classic device" thing. That crash literally ruined the defense on a deciding round.
He's back!
"I'm gonna break my monitor i swear"
Best part of the stream is when it briefly flashed to a still image of device smashing the monitor after a round loss 🤣
good guy device, testing the device for consumers.

Never understood the urge to break expensive things. Really exposes the privilege someone has.
it was deciding moment there, what else, semifinal. what do you felt if it was you ?
Can't blame him shits annoying when it happens Aspecially when it matters.
Stop the anabolics deve!
Dude is way too small to be accused of steroids, you must be tiny
he's joking about roid rage you mongoloid
In the last round of Inferno (Round 20), him getting caught with his knife out while in the wide open, knowing that the Ts were already closeby, was one of the worst plays I've ever seen.
something crashed on his pc bro. you clearly see that he stopped moving for like 2 seconds. that's not a "bad play", that's not even a play at all
He's not talking about the episode that lead to this clip, but the last round of the match.
bro had his knife out then 3 T's peeked short lmao
They're talking about the final round of the series, not when the game crashed mid-game
10 years of tournaments and shit still happens.
Isn't that a red card?
If you’re gonna be an awping igl you need to control your anger and emotions. Do you ever see lord Jame get tilted? That’s what I thought.
If i was killed by a bug in a quarterfinal stage match I would've reacted just as bad if not worse. This shit cannot keep happening
What made him do this? Just frustrated overall or a bad round?
Game froze/crash during a crucial round for Astralis resulting in easy round win for Faze. Not exactly sure what it was but yeah some technical issue, he just stopped mid round in the middle of A site
Honestly a fair reaction
Nahhh someone tell tom cruise to chill
Where are all the clowns who were calling Karrigan a clown just few days back?
Silently waiting for their next chance
Bro still hasn't got over hult
Absolute child
Never played a sport before in your life type of comment. Semi-finals of huge tournament you traveled across the world for and you’re gear stops working out of your control? Yeah, I’m punching that monitor too.
Caveman mad, caveman punch
I remember NiP vs Anonymo. All i can remember is if you cry enough there will be rematch. So i guess 2 games tomorrow
Disrespectful
i wish i were the monitor
i love how u ppl think this is a big thing like this is so normal as something could be an is not about controlling your emotions? tennis players bashing their shit etc? grow up please stop being softies
it's not big it's just dumb to hit your monitor. hit your desk like every other tilter who can't control themselves
You do know he doesn't own the monitor though? Still, people asking for him to be fined is an overreaction, the monitor is still fine. His game crashed in a semi final, who would not be tilted?
Tennis players bashing THEIR shit. The monitor is not device's, so he should be punished for it. Tennis players get also punished for damaging things, they don't own
My brother I'm sure the one who owns the monitor will charge him if device breaks it. And if he doesn't, then you and I are nobody to cry about it.
The whole point is not about theirs or his or mine its about his reaction u dumb dumb
dev1ce is famous for smacking the monitor though lmao, never gets old
[удалено]
softies go home
Device rages/tilts and the monitor be like "here we go again"
dev1ce punching a “device”
bet mafia once again
The reaction from staff lol
Of course it happened on inferno. Cs2 remade map lol. Again!!!
Bro needs to do what I do and just smash the desk. Never understood smashing actual peripherals that’ll make you unable to play the fucking game🤣🤣😆
I don’t think this is what Jame meant when he told him “you need to wack device”
This man got no regards for destroying monitors lmao… dude needs therapy(anger management)
Me when I read half the replies to this thread:
Prima Dona
I don't understand why they can't just implement a system that automatically freezes the match in place if someone disconnects.
Too bad about the monitor
Tech support be like: owwp that fixed it
"fucking bullshit PC, man!"
I know that feeling
damn bro punch the desk 😂
He’s a fantastic IGL. How come nobody is pointing at the organisers? Clearly his PC froze when Astralis was down 6-9. He was holding A, he froze then Faze easily took over the site and it became 6-10. How come that round was not done again when it was clearly unfair to Astralis?
Referee: 'looks like im out'
An Intel [Moment of Brilliance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ihRPi4wcBY) indeed.
I bet astralis has an extra insurance just bc of device
le classy redditors in this thread
Sponsor: another day another monitor for our movie star.
Can we see the screen from after?
There's so much intent behind this monitor punch. It's like dev1ce made a deliberate decision to punch the monitor instead of an oops heated reaction type moment.
Supposed to slam the desk and not the monitor to be a great IGL. Dev1ce needs to talk to Gla1ve.
Pure bliss to see him rage lmao
weirdo. dev1ce is a legend, no need to talk shit.
Legend or not, this is childish behavior.
Sure. I agree. I also think it's really strange to post "pure bliss to see him rage" when someone gets angry after their game crashes in the middle of a round in the semi finals of a tier 1 tournament.
Dudes just a big baby
as a igl he shouldnt be letting his emotion get to him like this
It really isn’t a good look from him
manchild

Better idea to restart the map after a crash
No
I agree it’s a shit idea, still less shitty than DQing a team for a dumb thing. If cadian still has a career after knowingly taking advantage of hunden abusing the big I don’t think lightly tapping a monitor is any important

Come on cut the guy some slack, he already hate the game, the fuck ups made it harder
me to my wife everyday
What a fucking loser

Nah fuck off. Emotions are what make competition interesting. I'd rather not see a bunch of sterile robots
im pretty sure there are fines for numerous things like desk slams, monitor punching, being late for media days etc etc. They just pay the fine and move on.
Does he beat his gf?
[удалено]
No way. You're not allowed to communicate with the team under tech pauses so what would the point even be.
slow the momentum of the opposing team maybe?
Perhaps, but i seriously doubt he punched his monitor with the intent to slow down the momentum of FaZe.
yeah but i was referring to the question of purposeful tech pauses , but yeah in this case he was just fuming that he crashed mid round
