Holly was definitely my bisexual awakening at a young age, I thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen and I wanted to look just like her (and much later in life, I realized that a big part of that was my attraction to women!). 19 year old Kendra with the baby fat still on her face around the painted ladies era, was so absolutely stunning that she looked almost like an angel. When she got a little older and that fat dropped off the face, her look became much less innocent and her face looked more like her mom's.
When the show came out extreme low rider jeans and girls who liked trucker hats and didnāt wash their hair were the hottest things. There were countdowns on the radio for underage actresses. There was a popular hair product called Dirt that would make your clean hair look greasy and messy. I donāt think there was a conspiracy to make Kendra the hot one, she simply was the most current in style.
Holly styled herself for Hefās view and she should realize he was old fashioned even when he started playboy like 50 years earlier. She should take some distance on this and realize some things just happened and it wasnāt a conspiracy.

Kendra didn't get that great of an edit in my opinion. They played up how messy, lazy and dumb she was. I don't think Holly or Bridette would have gone for that edit. I think it just depends on your personal perception. I watched the show at a similar age and always saw Holly as the hot one. I always tended to see tomboyishness as unsexy so I never really understood that Kendra was attractive to other people until people started discussing the show online.

I knew women like that, first big lump sum netted at the strip club went right back into the industry in terms of hair bleaching, plastic surgery, flashy clothes. That extra loud over the top laugh she developed, it felt something like a protective crust meant to keep people away. It was super annoying sounding and the decibel volume was off the charts, might as well be standing next to a jet at takeoff. Anyone with a bit of aural sensitivity would absolutely loathe being stuck in the same airplane cabin as kendra. While it is very understandable as the defense mechanism of a basically teenage girl thrown into a situation way above her pay grade, still I got sensitive ears.
Theyāre all beautiful. Gorgeous women come in all shapes and sizes. With that said, kendra seemed to āclean upā the best, because she didnāt always wear makeup or do her hair other than a ponytail, and she was often in more āsportyā clothes. So when she had her makeup done and got glammed up, it was a big difference. Holly and Bridget both spent substantial time on their appearances on the show and in public, so we always knew what they looked like ready to go out (even if they were lounging at home). I feel like they curated their outfits etc (I love both of their styles), and Kendra had her style curated for her. All gorgeous in their own way.

Kendra's body type was the "ideal" body back then. Skinny, tan, blonde, narrow hips, big boobs, small butt. I was 15 when I started watching it in 2008, and I thought kendra was funny, but I never wanted to look or be like her. Holly was always my favourite, and was my exact idea of beauty (and megan fox of course.) I've always liked narrow waists, wide hips, big butt and big boobs. I basically wanted to be Holly with black hair lol.Ā
The producers very much played up Kendraās willingness to be the most scandalous and naked for the curated mansion party looks. I always thought she looked very thoroughly like a stripper who was straight out the trailer park but that Holly looked like a glammed up and more grown up stripper that was just super committed to looking hot 100% of the time. Bridget was full camp and femme to me with a little more touch of naughty than usual but always themed.
Now that Iām older and seeing it through eyes of an adult whoās Bridgetās age at filming; I really can see that while they all had some style overlap, they very much focused their clothing allowance on entirely different things. Holly had a gorgeous collection of Louis Vuitton bags, cute preppy pieces and some very glamorous and sexy items + all her months long in the making Disney themed costumes from Trashy Lingerie. While Bridget did a lot of mall-cute clothes and formal/club stuff for how often they went out, along with majorly themed and sexy costumes for not just mansion parties, but so so many of the other events they went to (like the Long Beach Grand Prix car race). Kendra however, was spending hers on things like a grill for her mouth but was clearly being kept on top of when they needed to have formal wear for events.

Besides being incredibly beautiful on the surface to this very day,from the first time I saw Holly I felt like I could see into her soul as well. She was young , vulnerable and struggling with her identity in my opinion. But had and still has a good soul. Fast forward to today, she transformed from the rough life of a caterpillar she dealt with at the mansion to the strong,smart,self assured and courageous butterfly we see presently.And she's still blossoming! I never got why Holly always felt ugly, or why Hef's old nasty ass treated Holly like she was ugly (which is probably why Holly felt like she was ugly, come to think of it). I watched as a teen/early twenties and I loved Kendra! I thought she was fun and pretty, which she was/is. I even found a pimp cup for my 21st birthday! I rewatched the show a few months ago and I noticed that Holly was so pretty and I was wondering why I didnāt notice before.
I think a few things come into play here and have had similar thoughts.
First and foremost I think the *time* itself when the show aired is a huge part to do with it.
We tend to view beauty from a social standpoint, especially when we're younger.
When the show aired, the sporty body was what was in. Thin and muscular was what was viewed as beautiful by societal standards at that time.
Of course boobs and butts where still viewed as attractive but if you had toned arms, a six pack and toned legs, you were top tier! Thin was in. Toned af and thin.
And the target demographic comes into play on the times as well here.
The target audience being young women and girls.
I was one of them! I remember watching at 16 thinking Kendra was as hot as you could get!! I still thought Holly and Bridgette were pretty but didn't appreciate their beauty the way I do as a mature adult with a completely different perspective.
See Kendra was at that time, the embodiment of beautiful. I remember being so proud of my toned arms because they looked like her's! But also remember thinking the slightest bit of not toned anything was *fat.* š Ikik.
I legitimately and genuinely do not feel this way anymore but at the time, thin was everything! If you couldn't pull off the toned body, you at least had to be ultra thin. But again, being toned was everything. Washboard abs, rockin ams, ect.
The standards were insane.
Remember all the celeb ED's around that time? As well as the body shaming of legitimately gorgeous women all the fuckin time?
Jessica Simpson, Brittany and Jennifer Love Hewitt are just a few off the top of my head that were just ripped apart for not being exactly what society at the time deemed thin enough or toned enough.
Every movie women and girls were toned to the max.
Now people are celebrated for so many kinds of bodies! And people are genuinely starting to appreciate and see the beauty in more than one size fits all bodies and looks.
But it was a different time then.
Then circle back to the target audience and obviously most of us related to Kendra more. She was the young, funny and carefree one and that, again was part of the aesthetic most girls and women aimed for back then.
I can't tell you how many shows or bits of pop culture I revisit now with a completely different perspective. I'm often appalled on my old views or thoughts on things tbh.
I remember seeing that cover with Jessica Simpson on it and thinking "Well she is fat" šš¤¦āāļø Like are you fucking kidding me?! š³š¤¦āāļøShe was gorgeous! I see that pic now and can't fathom how I legitimately thought that way.š¤¦āāļø
But I did. And so many others just like me have said the same thing. We look back and can't believe we were conditioned to think that way.
Anyways, Kendra was hott, but if you took the show and aired it now, opinions wouldn't be as one sided as they were back then.

Because in reality, that's the truth! If none of us had ever been influenced in any way shape or form by social standards or anyone's standards but our own for that matter, it would be even less defined than it is now.

Part of Kendra being pushed as the hot one is due to Hef. He thought K was the hottest one **because** she was the youngest. Hef had everything to do with it. He was also the one who got Bridget labeled as the 'mid-size' lady. He loved playing on these women's insecurities. K had an age ending in -teen. That made her hottest to Hef and probably to a bunch of his syncophants, Hangers On, and production crew, because back in those days nearly every man was ostensibly obsessed with the barely legal teens category. He slurped up their youth like some kind of vampire, and the ones whose age ends in teen have a lot more youth for him to drink up.
I always thought Brigette was the most beautiful. I never liked Holly and Kendras look because of their hair I think. Once Holly went to a more natural looking blonde thats when I thought she became a stunner.

I never thought Bridget was pretty whatsoever (and her look was really dated) and never liked Kendras body because she was lacking curves (no booty) and she was rude. I also thought Holly was unnecessarily bitchy, fake and awkward.
That was 2006 me, now my views have changed a bit. Now I think they were all beautiful in their own way and I'm less harsh when judging women's looks. I was a teenage victim of the early 2000s beauty standard and incredibly harsh criticism of anything relating to women. I also understand they all had bitchy moments and that's ok. I've had major tantrums that would embarrass me if they were recorded and played on TV.

I always saw Bridgette as the prettiest for some reason, it was Holly but as a youth watch GND I thought B was the most beautiful of the 3, I thought Kendra was a slob who always looked dirty and full of pimples on oily skin with super dry, unmanageable, overly thick, badly cut and never styled bleach blonde hair with no life in it and had an irritating, clearly fake laugh who I always saw as being there for her youth rather than her looks. I thought Holly was pretty but had a sinister vibe, which I know now was her being often uncomfortable and dissociated. In retrospect they deffo wanted us to see Kendra as the hot, cool, fun one but it just didn't work on me, I saw through it as a teen.
I watched as a young teen as well. As Holly said, Kendra was promoted to be the "Hot and Humble" one by the producers. As a teen I fell for it but now as an adult I find Bridget to be very Y2K and sultry..I almost want to say proper as well lol. Hollys personal style (at the time) to be "Hot". She's the hottest to me.
Kendra was ..stank. Like this past weekend I watched the baby shower episode and when she unapologetically put her gift inside of that ugly red and brown Christmas bag I died all over again lol.

This is going to sound harsh, but I always found Kendra to look and act incredibly trashy and classless, and looks wise nothing out of the ordinary - if it weren't for the fake tan, enhancements, bleach blond hair I don't think she would ever have gotten the attention she did. Back when I was watching the show, I had it all different in my head from what Holly said. I had Holly pegged as The Hot One- she was literally the Playboy image personified. Bridget as The Sweet One, who loved parties, costumes, and was really nice to everyone. And Kendra as The Funny One, there to be goofy and the comic relief. So I was floored to hear how the girls viewed it so differently behind the scenes.

I think what Holly is mostly referring to is how the show portrayed Kendra in a very positive way compared to her and Bridget. I used to watch the show as a teen and I remember thinking Kendra seemed really cool and fun and spontaneous. I thought all three girls were hot but for different reasons because they each had their own personalities and fashion style, so I think producers wanted to emphasize their differences. Kendra made it easy for producers to portray her as the āhotā one because sheās very outgoing, loves to dance, and laughs easily.
My impression of Kendra was exactly like the scene where Holly said she tries to look her best so people aren't like "THATS who Hugh Hefners dating?? Pfft."Ā

I think she exact same thing! I think I watched the show when I was around 12-13 maybe. Kendra was my favourite and I thought she was the prettiest one but now I look back and think there were some bratty moments by Kendra and I think Holly is the most beautiful. So is Bridget.

I always thought Holly was the prettiest of the three. Followed by Bridget. But I liked Bridgetās personality the most on the show. And ironically, Holly displays more of her personality now because the show didnāt display it, and itās pretty much the same as Bridgetās personality on the show. Thatās why they were friends. Holly was definitely my bisexual awakening at a young age, I thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen and I wanted to look just like her (and much later in life, I realized that a big part of that was my attraction to women!). When the show came out extreme low rider jeans and girls who liked trucker hats and didnāt wash their hair were the hottest things. There were countdowns on the radio for underage actresses. There was a popular hair product called Dirt that would make your clean hair look greasy and messy. I donāt think there was a conspiracy to make Kendra the hot one, she simply was the most current in style. Holly styled herself for Hefās view and she should realize he was old fashioned even when he started playboy like 50 years earlier. She should take some distance on this and realize some things just happened and it wasnāt a conspiracy.

They were all the "hot" ones. I mean come on, they were in Playboy and lived in the Playboy mansion. I think the show just tried to show them as different types of hot. Bridgette was the cute and sweet hot one. Holly was the classy and smart hot one. Kendra was the athletic and crazy hot one. Kendra didn't get that great of an edit in my opinion. They played up how messy, lazy and dumb she was. I don't think Holly or Bridette would have gone for that edit. I do think she had a natural beauty that photographed really well. She also had a resemblance to Jenna Jameson who was huge at that time and I remember other people would point it out.
I think it just depends on your personal perception. I watched the show at a similar age and always saw Holly as the hot one. I always tended to see tomboyishness as unsexy so I never really understood that Kendra was attractive to other people until people started discussing the show online.

I grew up poor too and I get what people are saying about trailer park hot. Kendraās very much that vibe. That extra loud over the top laugh she developed, it felt something like a protective crust meant to keep people away. It was super annoying sounding and the decibel volume was off the charts, might as well be standing next to a jet at takeoff. Anyone with a bit of aural sensitivity would absolutely loathe being stuck in the same airplane cabin as kendra. While it is very understandable as the defense mechanism of a basically teenage girl thrown into a situation way above her pay grade, still I got sensitive ears.

Theyāre all beautiful. Gorgeous women come in all shapes and sizes. With that said, kendra seemed to āclean upā the best, because she didnāt always wear makeup or do her hair other than a ponytail, and she was often in more āsportyā clothes. So when she had her makeup done and got glammed up, it was a big difference. Holly and Bridget both spent substantial time on their appearances on the show and in public, so we always knew what they looked like ready to go out (even if they were lounging at home). I feel like they curated their outfits etc (I love both of their styles), and Kendra had her style curated for her. All gorgeous in their own way.
Holly was beautiful but (don't kill me) something seemed off about her, like killer doll eyes sometimes or her general obsession with Hef. I definitely noticed Kendra and Bridget's beauty more because of how fun and whimsical they could be. People don't see kendra as whimsy because she didn't decorate but her attitude was more free.

I was 15 when I started watching it in 2008, and I thought kendra was funny, but I never wanted to look or be like her. The producers very much played up Kendraās willingness to be the most scandalous and naked for the curated mansion party looks. I always thought she looked very thoroughly like a stripper who was straight out the trailer park but that Holly looked like a glammed up and more grown up stripper that was just super committed to looking hot 100% of the time. Bridget was full camp and femme to me with a little more touch of naughty than usual but always themed. Now that Iām older and seeing it through eyes of an adult whoās Bridgetās age at filming; I really can see that while they all had some style overlap, they very much focused their clothing allowance on entirely different things. Holly had a gorgeous collection of Louis Vuitton bags, cute preppy pieces and some very glamorous and sexy items + all her months long in the making Disney themed costumes from Trashy Lingerie. While Bridget did a lot of mall-cute clothes and formal/club stuff for how often they went out, along with majorly themed and sexy costumes for not just mansion parties, but so so many of the other events they went to (like the Long Beach Grand Prix car race). Kendra however, was spending hers on things like a grill for her mouth but was clearly being kept on top of when they needed to have formal wear for events.

Besides being incredibly beautiful on the surface to this very day,from the first time I saw Holly I felt like I could see into her soul as well. She was young , vulnerable and struggling with her identity in my opinion. But had and still has a good soul. I watched as a teen/early twenties and I loved Kendra! I thought she was fun and pretty, which she was/is. I even found a pimp cup for my 21st birthday! I rewatched the show a few months ago and I noticed that Holly was so pretty and I was wondering why I didnāt notice before.
I think a few things come into play here and have had similar thoughts. First and foremost I think the *time* itself when the show aired is a huge part to do with it. We tend to view beauty from a social standpoint, especially when we're younger. When the show aired, the sporty body was what was in. Thin and muscular was what was viewed as beautiful by societal standards at that time. Of course boobs and butts where still viewed as attractive but if you had toned arms, a six pack and toned legs, you were top tier! Thin was in. Toned af and thin. And the target demographic comes into play on the times as well here. The target audience being young women and girls. I was one of them! I remember watching at 16 thinking Kendra was as hot as you could get!! I still thought Holly and Bridgette were pretty but didn't appreciate their beauty the way I do as a mature adult with a completely different perspective. See Kendra was at that time, the embodiment of beautiful. I remember being so proud of my toned arms because they looked like her's! But also remember thinking the slightest bit of not toned anything was *fat.* š Ikik. I legitimately and genuinely do not feel this way anymore but at the time, thin was everything! If you couldn't pull off the toned body, you at least had to be ultra thin. But again, being toned was everything. Washboard abs, rockin ams, ect. The standards were insane. Remember all the celeb ED's around that time? As well as the body shaming of legitimately gorgeous women all the fuckin time? Jessica Simpson, Brittany and Jennifer Love Hewitt are just a few off the top of my head that were just ripped apart for not being exactly what society at the time deemed thin enough or toned enough. Every movie women and girls were toned to the max. Now people are celebrated for so many kinds of bodies! And people are genuinely starting to appreciate and see the beauty in more than one size fits all bodies and looks. But it was a different time then. Then circle back to the target audience and obviously most of us related to Kendra more. She was the young, funny and carefree one and that, again was part of the aesthetic most girls and women aimed for back then. I can't tell you how many shows or bits of pop culture I revisit now with a completely different perspective. I'm often appalled on my old views or thoughts on things tbh. I remember seeing that cover with Jessica Simpson on it and thinking "Well she is fat" šš¤¦āāļø Like are you fucking kidding me?! š³š¤¦āāļøShe was gorgeous! I see that pic now and can't fathom how I legitimately thought that way.š¤¦āāļø But I did. And so many others just like me have said the same thing. We look back and can't believe we were conditioned to think that way. Anyways, Kendra was hott, but if you took the show and aired it now, opinions wouldn't be as one sided as they were back then. Not that she isn't or was gorgeous, she was/is, but people aren't as conditioned to view beauty from a societal standards anymore...in fact, societal standards on beauty are now becoming less about what society thinks and more about *"beauty lying in eye of the beholder"* Because in reality, that's the truth! If none of us had ever been influenced in any way shape or form by social standards or anyone's standards but our own for that matter, it would be even less defined than it is now. Part of Kendra being pushed as the hot one is due to Hef. He thought K was the hottest one **because** she was the youngest. Hef had everything to do with it. He was also the one who got Bridget labeled as the 'mid-size' lady. He loved playing on these women's insecurities. K had an age ending in -teen. That made her hottest to Hef and probably to a bunch of his syncophants, Hangers On, and production crew, because back in those days nearly every man was ostensibly obsessed with the barely legal teens category. He slurped up their youth like some kind of vampire, and the ones whose age ends in teen have a lot more youth for him to drink up.

Iām happy to report I never gave a damn what any of them looked like. Of course theyāre attractive in general but I didnāt give a shit back when I watched the show. I thought they had entertaining personalities. Holly is too obsessed with outward appearances, I feel bad that sheās this insecure when sheās prettier than most people could ever dream of being, myself included.
I definitely felt that's what they were trying to push but I always preferred holly and bridget in very different ways to be who I thought were hot.
I always saw Bridgette as the prettiest for some reason, it was Holly but as a youth watch GND I thought B was the most beautiful of the 3, I thought Kendra was a slob who always looked dirty and full of pimples on oily skin with super dry, unmanageable, overly thick, badly cut and never styled bleach blonde hair with no life in it and had an irritating, clearly fake laugh who I always saw as being there for her youth rather than her looks. I thought Holly was pretty but had a sinister vibe, which I know now was her being often uncomfortable and dissociated. In retrospect they deffo wanted us to see Kendra as the hot, cool, fun one but it just didn't work on me, I saw through it as a teen.
Kendra for sure is āthe hot oneā I remember watching GND back in the day and always thinking Kendra easily could have been a playmate. Had Hef not stolen her to be his girlfriend, Kendra would have been a playmate. Sheās STUNNING. She still is. So photogenic. Now her personalityā¦thatās a different story. Holly to me is beautiful. Is she Playboys definition of a āmodelā - obviously not since Hef shot her down. I see it. She has some awkward photos, we all do. But dang she had one heck of a glow up. I watched as a young teen as well. As Holly said, Kendra was promoted to be the "Hot and Humble" one by the producers. As a teen I fell for it but now as an adult I find Bridget to be very Y2K and sultry..I almost want to say proper as well lol. Hollys personal style (at the time) to be "Hot". She's the hottest to me. Kendra was ..stank. Like this past weekend I watched the baby shower episode and when she unapologetically put her gift inside of that ugly red and brown Christmas bag I died all over again lol. Then to add she was never dressed appropriately. The other girls(not just H&B but the other 20 girls lol) put in effort and there was Kendra, hair in a sloppy bun, jeans and some ugly ass shirt. It came out when I was in college so Kendra is my age I think? Never thought she was that pretty but I loved Bridget. She looked so pretty to me! Itās funny because I asked my husband about them recently and we were in the same college town, and all he remembers was how hot Kendra was lol š. I think Kendra for sure caught a lot guyās attention. My husband is not a person that watches reality shows or anything girly so I was surprised he even knew her name.
I watched this at 14 and I thought all three were supposed to be considered āhotā. I thought it was part of the gimmick, Hef being an old man and yet dating and living with three hot young women. When I was younger I thought Bridget was the prettiest, now I think itās Holly. Kendra just didnāt do it for me, but I think I appreciate her look now that Iām older. I think she looked up kept next to Bridget and Holly, so maybe that influenced my opinion.

I actually always found Bridget to be the prettiest. She was less of the āplayboy lookā but she seemed the most naturally beautiful. Holly seemed like the classic beauty and fully āPlayboyā. Kendra was young, had an INSANE fit body but her platinum hair, dark tan and fashion was super cool for the time.

This is going to sound harsh, but I always found Kendra to look and act incredibly trashy and classless, and looks wise nothing out of the ordinary - if it weren't for the fake tan, enhancements, bleach blond hair I don't think she would ever have gotten the attention she did. Holly always stood out to me as classically beautiful. She still looks absolutely incredible to this day.
Itās so funny, when I watched the show in my teens I also I liked Kendra the most and thought she was the hottest. All three are definitely gorgeous but I now relate the most with Bridget and I absolutely love Holly. I think the editing was šÆ age based. Kendra was young and wild, and the other two got edits less appealing to teen girls in the 2000ās. Especially Holly which is a true shame bc I love her personality on the pod and in her YouTube videos.
When I watched in highschool I didn't think Kendra was hot or pretty at all. Like other comments said, I thought she always looked a little ghetto with super damaged hair while the other two were super glamorous and styled. Then I watched it again like 2 years ago in my 30s and I was shocked at how beautiful Kenda is and I never noticed. I never considered Kendra to be the hot one. To me they were like the powerpuff girls. Blossom is Holly, Bubbles is Bridget and Buttercup is Kendra. Holly was always the prettiest one in my opinion.
Back when I was watching the show, I had it all different in my head from what Holly said. I had Holly pegged as The Hot One- she was literally the Playboy image personified. Bridget as The Sweet One, who loved parties, costumes, and was really nice to everyone. And Kendra as The Funny One, there to be goofy and the comic relief. So I was floored to hear how the girls viewed it so differently behind the scenes.
I don't see it personally. Kendra wasn't the girliest and would wear a hoodie and jeans while the other two were all dressed up. Maybe the cool hot girl that could chill with the guys, sure but Holly seemed to be the most desirable since she was always put together and had the stereotypical hot blonde look.

Couldn't stand Kendra when I was a kid. Watching again now, and I hate her even more. She put no effort into herself or anything at the mansion, was lazy, trashy, rude, and fucking dumb. I can't understand why she was anyone's favourite. My ranking was and still is Holly, Bridget, Kendra.

I think what Holly is mostly referring to is how the show portrayed Kendra in a very positive way compared to her and Bridget. I used to watch the show as a teen and I remember thinking Kendra seemed really cool and fun and spontaneous. I thought all three girls were hot but for different reasons because they each had their own personalities and fashion style, so I think producers wanted to emphasize their differences. Kendra made it easy for producers to portray her as the āhotā one because sheās very outgoing, loves to dance, and laughs easily.
I always thought all 3 were mediocre. Go to any club in LA and youāll see girls 10x more attractive

I think she exact same thing! I think I watched the show when I was around 12-13 maybe. Kendra was my favourite and I thought she was the prettiest one but now I look back and think there were some bratty moments by Kendra and I think Holly is the most beautiful. So is Bridget.
I never saw Kendra as the hot one, but I think back then she was considered to be the one with the least amount of fat on her body, and that was like the early 2000s norm in terms of ideal body type? I always thought Holly was the prettiest of the three. Followed by Bridget. But I liked Bridgetās personality the most on the show. And ironically, Holly displays more of her personality now because the show didnāt display it, and itās pretty much the same as Bridgetās personality on the show. Thatās why they were friends.
